Of course, hitting KAC+8 is often very difficult. With an appropriate weapon (for example, the Hook Sword gives a +2 to trip) and an Improved Combat Maneuver Feat, it's not as difficult. Vanguards get these feats for free and they target EAC+8 at lvl 5, and it starts being pretty manageable to actually do combat maneuvers.

I'd suggest freeing the captives, that way we don't have to spend actions to get them ready to run if it goes south. I could use the hook sword since the Solarian sword doesn't get through dr/cold iron.
