Hi Guys,

Im running Part 4 in a few days and reading through realised the book just starts off with the party on the road to Thistle Top with not actual reason for the party to be going there.

Have anyone go something I can give the party for them to want to investigate Thistle Top. Maybe im missing something but I re-read the whole of Part 3 and cannot see any plot hooks or anything that would tell them that after killing Erylium they would then think to go to Thistle Top.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have anything on paper, but I've used Gorvi as someone who makes money as a blackmailer. If that interests you, you might send a level 1 rogue on a quest to collect particular "evidence" against people like Cyrdak Drokkus (who is concerned about appearance or reputation) or Pillbug (who might otherwise end up in jail for the things he does). The rogue might also shadow someone to listen in on incriminating conversation.

Distraction missions might also work (do something flashy to get yourself arrested, so that Gorvi or one of his boys can be sure that Hemlock won't be around to discover what THEY might be doing). Starting a bar brawl is great for this. The rogue spends the night in jail, and thereby earns his stripes with the guild.

Was hoping to be lazy and copy someones work but they are decent hooks thanks. Might just make it up on the fly and see how it flows.

Hi All,

After some ideas as my level 1 rogue is interested in joining with Gorvi being they are the closest thing to a thieves guild.

Just wondering if anyone had anything drawn up or have used before as some sort of initiation into a theives guild as a side quest for a single level 1 character.

I was thinking along the lines of Gorvi could ask the PC to silence Hannah Velerin who is opposed to the garbage being dumped into the ocean OR giving Mayor Kendra grief for complaining about Gorvi's public drunkeness

Thoughts? Anything on paper I can use people have seen before? its just meant to be a small side quest to help develop his character.

Hello Jason,

Taking a look at your Order History page, I do not see that you have placed this order with this account. If you have a Paizo.com order number, or think that you may have made this purchase on another account, please let us know this information and we will be happy to look into this further.

When you place an order on Paizo.com you should receive a confirmation email that outlines a fulfillment estimate—this is the amount of time we think it will take to fulfill your order and begin processing it for shipping. When we ship your order we send an additional confirmation email giving you a delivery estimate (for Australia via USPS this is usually in the range of 7-11 business days, though this may vary based on your address). Should you ever have any questions regarding your order's fulfillment or shipping times, feel free to reach out to us on the messageboards or via email: customer.service@paizo.com

Sorry If I wasnt clear. Im writing on behalf of my local store who placed an order with the Australian Distributor. My question is more around why stock isnt being sent to Austrlian Distributors so local stores can provide the products. I paid for my order at my local store (Milsims.com.au) who then placed the order to the Australian distributor. The Distributor have stated multiple times that Paizo are out of print in these products and due to a possible minimum order quantity arent being sent the products.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

Im a fan in Melbourne, Australia but have sadly been waiting for my order to arrive since 31/01/2013. I have contacted my local store Milsims Games (milsims.com.au) who have advised me that Paizo have dropped the bundle and Australia havent recieved any re-prints of my order. I am not sure if this is true or not but I am getting desperate and I feel 7 months is an unrealistic time to wait. Can you please advise me as to what I should do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Guys,
How about you post these maps that you have made to scale. I would love to check out what youve made, I have the same problem but have not yet attempted it. Maybe post on RPG genius as mentioned above. Many thanks in advance.

Thanks guys thats great. In addition to any other feedback from others. Would anyone be able to record at what point I SHOULDNT kill these people. As you noted below Clint I dont want to have ordered an NPC killed off BEFORE a point in the story line hasnt been achived.

Many thanks for all the feedback guys. Keep it coming. :)

Thanks for the feedback. Anyone else with a suggestion\opinion?

Hiya Guys,
I’ve just started flood season with my guys and would like your opinion on some issues. Firstly I’ve got one of my players wanting to follow the assassin path. Now I don’t agree that someone should be able to just kill a random person and then go up in assassin levels, nor be able to level up without a mentor\guild. I was thinking whether or not to use the Alley bashers \ last laugh or make a new guild but decided on the last laugh.

I noticed that there were a few notes that Jill could develop a relationship with one of the characters and that further along the path there is a final confrontation with Jill where it notes that she doesn’t like her boss and that she may listen to one of the characters she has a relationship with if they role a diplomacy check.

What I have done is made Jill locate my PC and offer to teach him levels in assassin but each level requires him to complete a specific hit. Before she even made this agreement she made him do an 'initiation' test which I made him assassinate the last remaining leader of the Alley bashers just because there more of an inconvenience (to the last laugh) than anything and a good test of the PC's skills.

Am I going to come up against any issues by having Jill as his mentor? I made the specific comment to the PC that Jill has made it clear that he is working for HER and NOT the LAST LAUGH just because I was worried that if he has to kill Last Laugh members it wouldn’t be such an issue and also this way Jill and my PC could become allies towards the end of the campaign.

I also want to be a little bit of a mongrel and have my PC have a mark that the rest of the group needs to either keep alive or extract information from just so that it’s not a walk in the park for him. Is there anyone in mind that I could have him kill that wouldn’t completely ruin the story line?

Does anyone have any assassin missions that they have given their pcs before? I just don’t think I want to make 10 stand alone missions but rather either use other pre-written material or just pick NPC’s out of SC that aren’t that important.

Thanks for reading such a huge post :)

Hiya Guys,
Its been a while since I started this thread and funnily enough my group ended up changing last minute. Just about to start Drakthar's Way we are all level 4 at the end of Life's Bazaar. Currently no deaths but plenty of ko's.

6 PC'S (Based in Q'Barr)
Shifter Barbarian (heading to Frenzied Bezerker)
Dwarf Fighter (heading to Dwarven Defender)
Human Monk
Elf Rogue (heading to shadow dancer)
Halfling Rogue (heading to assasin)
Kalashtar Psion Kineticist

Problems ive found that would be obvious to most veteran dm's is that we have a lack of healing and magic. It hasnt been a huge issue but what I have found is the guys have hardly any money\treasure as for one they are splitting it by 6 and second they are spending all their money on healing potions and getting items identified ($100-150 gp per item). Any advice\opinions\ideas welcome. One major question is that there currently value is approx $2500 but for level 4 characters it should be approx $4000 now would you modify this to boost them up or would you let them suffer for having an unbalanced party?

ALL HAIL ZAISTER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR EMAILING ME A COPY OF THE MALACHITE FORTRESS!!!!!!!!

Phew! Now I can safely run my game tomorrow. This board has a great and helpful community. Keep up the good work guys.

Yeah I have looked there but they dont have a map thats numbered for the Malachite Fortress. Any other ideas? Could you scan me yours? Anyone?

I am supposed to be running the Malachite Fortress for my group tomorrow but ive got no idea where my booklets gone to and I dont know how I can run it without knowning what number matches up with what room. Im begging anyone out there with a spare 5 mins if they could at least scan the page with the Malachite Fortress map and either post a link to it or email it to me on

jasonscarlett@optusnet.com.au

Many thanks guys in advance.

Hiya Guys,
Ive somehow lost the booklet that came with my Shackled City Hard Cover. Does anyone have a scan of the dm's version of the malachite fortress?

Hiya Mr Peepers,
I think you will find that this question has been answered a few times throughout the forum its just a matter of looking. That aside, from everything I have seen... you could very easily run the game 4 - 6 player without it effecting leveling/treasure/deaths too much its just a matter of deciding whether you would want 6 players as a social thing or not. I am running 6 players just so that I get to hang out with 6 of my mates rather than just 4 for example. The game is fast paced enough not to become slow or boring. Cheers

Does anyone else have some examples of handouts they have given their characters for SC?

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it.

Thank you very much for you help thats the kind of advice I needed. I am hoping also that others will have some that they have made for Eberron possibly or even the standard setting so that I dont have to spend the two nights making my own :)

Im currently trying to make a 3D version of Cauldron with world works which is taking up all of my time. Thanks for your help once again.

Thats great thanks. I was more hoping/assuming you would post the one you used for Shackled City. Im specifically requiring help with starting my SC campaign.

Guys,
Ive just purchased the World Works 3D Terrain - Chunky Dungeons (www.worldworksgames.com)and noticed that it mentions to make the Pro Master board in 1.5" squares. Im wondering if it should be 1" squares for use with the D&D Minis otherwise it may make any minis larger than medium look silly. Any Ideas? If I make it 1" will it throw the 3D Buildings out of proportion? Thanks in advance. I only ask on this board as someone brought a similar topic up last week and got a lot of response.

Can you perhaps publish a copy of the one page the you supplied your guys also if you dont mind. I just want to get an idea for "HOW MUCH" info you supplied. Cheers.

Just about to start my game based in Eberron but not sure how much information I just give to the players about Caldron etc. Has anyone got an example of perhaps a handout they gave their guys etc? eg. Do you tell the guys about the Vanishing before starting the game etc?

Also how have you been working the whole history and local knowledge. How often do you allow them to role (each day, each level)and what if they never ask? Do you ask them to role to see how much they know? I know these are at the disgression of the DM but I really want to hear what the current DM's are doing. Thanks guys for your support.

Im also interested to see if you guys have had any total part kills or substantian deaths in any encounters that were very close too for comfort. You see im about to start my guys from the start and its based in Eberron. I just need to make sure I "encourage" my guys to have rest before any particular stages if they are tough. Hope that makes sense.

Guys,
Just interested to see what you guys are running with in SC. This is totally from a GM's perspective. Im looking at running a 5 member party but am still sussing out whether I should allow 6 membersso that they dont die frequently or suggest they take a different class\racce

So far:
Warforged Fighter
Halfling Rogue
Elf Rogue
Kalashtar Psion Kineticist
Dwarf Fighter

What do you guys think? And what are you guys using?

Thanks guys for your opinions I really appreciate it.

Also it would be great to include what stage you have leveled your pcs up throughout the rest of the campaign. Please mate sure you respond so that this doesnt go to the bottom of the list. I really wanted your opinions guys.

Guys,
Im just about to start the SC based in Eberron and just preparing myself for Chapter 1. I wanted your opinions on when is the best time to level up the guys in Chapter 1 from level 1 to level 2. Also if there are 5 pcs in the group what is the expected level they will be at the end of chapter 1. I was hoping they would have included a guide to levelling them up ie. "Now is a good time for the pcs to rest and level up" but they didnt include it so Im at your mercy for some guidance. Many Thanks - Jase
