    With a lurching start, the Quaesitor stumbles forward. "Egads! Where... what..." Catching sight of the Professor, he moves toward him. "I had the strangest dream... It was as if I had been frozen in time for months! What could it mean?" He shakes his head and gestures toward the cave. "Shall we continue on?"

    Tyro engages in the idle chat only so much as he must to remain polite. He spends the rest of his time considering how to fight an enemy made of water, and settles on hitting it repeatedly with an axe if it won't comply.

    As they continue to move closer to their destination, he keeps his eyes open for any unusual signs which might indicate an elemental, and does his best to listen in on any conversations as they pass, to see if anyone has more information.

    Tyro gestures to the spot of water between docks where the creature had been seen. "She was there, raising quite the ruckus. Laughing rather a lot too." He begins to walk out across the nearest pier to get closer to the spot where he'd last seen the being.

    Tyro nods, with a smile. "To the docks, then." He leads the way out of the room, and across the grounds, tracing a mental map of the city to confirm exactly where in the docks he'd seen the being. As he walks, he keeps his eyes and ears open, spending more time gathering information than talking.

    "I wish I had the knowledge to be of more use to you, professor. This being is unfortunately somewhat beyond me. It spent most of it's time laughing, and playing between ships, but the force with which is threw water about seemed to me to be a danger to those ships it played next to."

    "Master Fletch! An honor to meet you. I am Tyro, Quaesitor of Abadar. I had an... interesting predicament last night, and I thought you might be able to help. I came across a being made of water at the docks last night, and though I made every effort, I was unsuccessful in communicating with it. This struck me as something which would be quite within your specialty. Would you be willing to help me try to locate and communicate with it?"

    Tyro makes his way into the school, and wastes no time in heading toward the office of the man with the knowledge to inform a plan. He pauses briefly to confirm directions with a student, then continues on his way.

    "Off to the School of Scholars, then. I must speak with a man about a thing." He begins to move through the streets, toward where he knows the School resides. As he moves through the crowds, he watches the people move, noting where their movements are orderly, and where there is disorder in the streets.

    "Meet in ten minutes, out front then?" He smiles and nods, moving upstairs to double check that he has all of his belongings, then descends the stairs again. As he passes the barkeep, he calls out a farewell, then exits into the street, taking a look around and breathing deep the air.

    Tyro shakes his head and murmurs some quiet prayers to Abadar, hoping that the strange feeling he encountered will pass and his mind will be brought back to order. Once he is more comfortable, he turns back to his companion. "My business here is simply to travel and to learn. I'm a scholar of sorts, I study the foundational elements of cities and see how they can be... improved." He smiles and shrugs. "And yourself?"

    I agree with Togril (but not Fizkin, because he's a troublemaker, and I can't stand behind that kind of behavior). I'd have a lot of funin something a little off-beat, though I get the feeling if we go too crazy it'll be difficult to keep it coherent (from my perspective, at least).

    Tyro bellows out loudly, "Halt, in the name of Abadar!" Command: Halt - DC:15 (I think). He squares up to the creature and stares it in the eyes, beard billowing majestically in the wind. "What is your purpose here, vile fiend?"

    Tyro quickly unslings and hefts his battleaxe and shield and charges headlong toward the creature, yelling at the top of his lungs, "FOR NARNIA!" As he charges forward, he focuses on the weakest point of the beasts armor, trying to find where to sink his axe.

    He nods with a smile. "It finds me well. I'm glad the storm has cleared, I was concerned the squall might carry on for several days." He lets his eyes wander around the bar for a moment, then turns back to the other dwarf. "And you, sir?"

    Tyro bows his head in thanks, and takes four of the coins from the bar. "You are too generous, sir. I would feel remiss if I accepted more than four gold. I will seek out and pass along the message to Sir Togril, I'm sure he will be very appreciative." He scratches his beard and ponders for a bit. "I think I'll go pay him a visit. Thank you again for your generosity, may Abadar bring order to your home."

    He makes his way over to the younger dwarf's table, and taps on the back of a chair. "Mind if I take a seat?"

    Tyro rises out of bed, yawning and blinking in the daylight. At least this building still stands. He rolls out of bed, checking his armor to ensure that it's dry, and undamaged by the rain, then buckles it on. He freezes just as he finishes buckling the last buckle, remembering that he'd quite uncharacteristically forgotten to pay in advance for the night. Bloody wind and rain, driving the simple things out of my head. Ach.

    He gathers his belongings, and makes his way down the stairs, quickly finding Hamn. "My apologies, I always try to pay in advance for a room. It's simpler that way." He sighs deeply, and glances out the window. "In my haste to warm up, I entirely forgot. Again, my apologies." He places his coins on the bar, then takes a look around to see who occupied the bar this morning. He spots a younger dwarf, noting his face, and turns to Hamn. "What do you know about that one?"

    Tyro sighs deeply, looking at the glowing rock in his hand. It just isn't right to leave this... being out in the storm without any information on who or what she is. Harumph. He takes one more walk around the building, then closes his fist around the rock, extinguishing the light. Fairly grumpy, somewhat disgruntled, and quite sodden, he makes his way back to the inn. Pushing his way through the door, he sighs taking a look around the room, then makes his way up the stairs to his room.

    Even more disgrutledly, he strips off his armor and hangs everything to dry, arranging it in the order in which it will be equipped in the morning. He then towels off, ensuring that he is completely dry to avoid risking further exposure to the elements. If there's a fireplace he lights a fire in the room to warm it, arranging the logs to maximize heat but minimize risk of uncontrolled blaze. He surveys the room one last time, then crawls into bed, murmuring a short prayer to Abadar requesting his continued health, and order in the city, then quickly slips into sleep.

    Are there any open windows?

    Tyro searches around for a reasonably sized rock, hefts it in his hand, then focuses on it, causing it to suddenly shine and emit a bright glow. He then begins to search for an open window through which to throw his glowing missile, not wanting to break or damage anything.

    Tyro nods and claps Togril on the shoulder. "Sleep well, friend. Thank you for your aid tonight, I will not forget it." He sighs, staring at the creature of water, then moves in the direction of the school.

    I'm not sure what the architecture of the place is, but I'm gonna assume a front door exists.

    Tyro first takes a look around the building to see if he can locate any sign of life within, then moves to the front door and pounds on it, trying to rouse someone. "Hello? Anyone? I must speak with Arnan Fletch. This is a highly important matter!"

    Tyro stands a pace back, watching the being closely. He keeps his hand casually near his weapon, but not so close as to draw attention or aggression to himself.

    Tyro's brow furrows. He squints hard at the being, trying to decide how best to approach the situation. "Clearly a force for chaos, we must calm it somehow. However, I fear you are right, I lack the requisite skills to fight such a being in the water. We must find a way to calm her." His brow continues to furrow until it seems to bury itself in his mustache. He is clearly consternated by being unable to reach the creature.

    Severely grumpy, satisfied that he has done the best job he's able to, Tyro trudges through the rain, muttering about the importance of fighting chaos, and pondering whether rain would technically be chaotic and therefore worthy of Abadar's wrath and destruction. As he begins to hear the laughter, he looks up, eyebrows deeply furrowed, trying to pinpoint it's origin. Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

    Tyro patiently waits, blinking only once at the fur armor blanketing Togril's body, but doesn't say anything. Once he has re-emerged from his room, he shakes his head. "A problem of a different sort. I noted that the barkeep seemed somewhat anxious regarding the storm; it turns out there are some repairs that need to be handled to prevent damage to this structure, and he was anxious to find someone to help. There is some piping on the outside of the building which helps to prevent flooding, and he is concerned that it will break, given the force of this wind. I'm sure that should the sailors cause any trouble of their own sort, we can sort them out as well." Tyro grins and begins to move back down the stairs. "Sorry, but I think we're going to get quite wet in a moment."

    "It is a pleasure to set things to right, sir." He spends a few moments examining the pipes, then moves to find the room which Togril is in. Making his was upstairs, he finds the indicated room relatively easily. He knocks on the door, and calls through the wood, "Togril, are you still awake? I have a problem you might be able to help me with." He steps back from the door, and waits for a response or some sign of life from within.

    Tyro follows Hamn, and listens to him speak. When he finishes, and fully understands what the bartender is asking, he nods and thinks for a few moments. "The dwarf who I sat with, Togril. Which room is he staying in? I could use his help on this, to ensure we do the best job possible." He smiles and waits for a response, looking around the basement while he waits.

    Hm. This storm seems to worry even the proprietor. This is concerning. He rises from his table and makes his way over to the bar. He signals to the bartender, trying to draw him to a slightly quieter edge of the bar so they can potentially converse. "Hail, sir. I cannot help but notice your concern over this storm... Do you think it will cause trouble? Is there any way I can help forestall this trouble before it grows?"

    Tyro nods and clasps Togril's arm. "It has been a pleasure, sir. At the very least, I'd love to see the craftsmanship in your metalwork. I have no doubt you'll be seeing me again soon." He settles back in his chair, watching Togril walk away. A stroke of good luck. He could perhaps be a valuable ally in my quest for order. At the very least, he should be a good blacksmith, so that's valuable. He idly turned to look at the gnome again, shaking his head. I've half a mind to see how fair I could get a sock down his throat, but I doubt that'd help shut him up much. With a snort and a shake of his head, Tyro turned back to his drink, taking a long, deep draught of his ale.

    Tyro chuckles and nods. "I do not claim that the first reaction should be to destroy. If a man can be brought to order, that is a superior solution. But many embrace chaos and refuse to change; they must be removed." He shrugs and shakes his head. "But such serious discussion can wait for another time, for now we have drink." He raises his tankard in a salute, and takes another drink.
