Qetsiyah shakes her head and stifles a gag of disgust. "Gotta be a wicked impulse for them to make it taste like that, though." She complains with a weak laugh. "You two look like you might be more into Herbalism. That's all to do with plants and making medicines with them." She comments, noting the flowers and such that seem to be more a part of you than something you wear.

"Stuff works, though. I'm good to go now. Let's see, there's all sorts of games and dancing. Competitions in everything from Archery to Zingo. Ooh, I know. The big Tug-o-war is starting up soon, anyone can join in there. Just hold onto the rope and pull!" She suggests.

Qetsiyah quirks an eyebrow at Tilly's chipper introduction. It was clear she wasn't used to someone making calf eyes at her. "Um... Hi there. You know what goes into this stuff, do ya? That mean you're an alchemist?" She asks indicating the fizzy tonic she was sipping slowly.

Kizzy pulls out a coin purse and hefts it in her hand, considering. "Nah, must not have won. Couldn't possibly have drank up that much coin if I had." She says with a sheepish grin. "Looks like we'll be headed back with the Caravan after all, Livvy. Unless you win the talent competition that is."

Olivia shrugs, "They won't announce that until the end of the festival tonight."

The well-built human woman nods and then winces slightly, resuming her sipping. Turning back to Tilly and Sabelle, she asks, "What do you two like to get up to. Lots of fun to be had at the festival. Let me know what you like and I bet we can find it. Or something close, anyway."

There was a resounding crash out in the hall and a heavy thump against the door. Olivia hisses angrily through gritted teeth, "Kizzy, you dolt! What have you gone and done now?" She opens the door to the hall and shuts it behind her, muffling her shrill voice as she begins to berate her sister.

A deep, feminine voice, somewhat slurred and sing-song answers. You hear little detail of the conversation but it seems clear that "Kizzy" just laughs off her sisters ire and stumbles to her feet.

"Now be quiet, we have guests and they are sleeping." You hear Olivia whisper sternly as she again opens the door. Kizzy laughs her deep, booming laugh that oddly enough seems to come from a much higher vantage point than Olivia's. "Finally brought home a fella for a sleep-over, huh? About time, sis!"

"I most certainly did not!" Olivia hisses, scandalized. "Unlike some people, I am a lady! There were some lost girls at the festival and they needed a place to sleep. Now hush before you wake them, we can talk about it in the morning."

You hear the heavy flop of a body onto a bed and Olivia struggles to remove her sisters' boots, the raucous sound of snoring starting up before she has even finished.

In the morning, you cannot miss the tall, dark haired pure human woman passed out and snoring noisily on the bed closest to the door. She could hardly be more different from the slight, graceful halfling Olivia if she were a male Orc. Where Olivia was dainty and dexterous, Kizzy, you presume, is broad-shouldered and muscularly built. She is easily the biggest woman you can recall seeing, though without an inch of fat.

There are already a selection of pastries out on the common room tables for those who only want a quick bite on their way out to the festival but it's clear a more substantial breakfast can also be prepared for those content to order and wait. The Inn bustles with activity as you rise and set about your day.

"He might keep her in Magnimar, he talked about a townhouse there, I think. He invited me to come here with him, alone. What in blazes was he planning? I said no when I thought it was merely infidelity. But considering the state of this place, I think now it must have been something worse." She added with disgusted curl to her lip.

When Izo mentioned that Pachemu was startled, Kizzy said, "Probably another haunt, but we should check on them to be sure." And she began to hustle back down the stairs.

The evil of the place seemed nearly palpable and so she spoke little for superstitious fear of disturbing the spirits that lurked in the darkened corners. She chewed her nails with anxiety after Izomandakus rent his own face until Kast had restored him and held her weapon up to protect the wizard when it seemed Valena might succumb to the haunt's powers.

When Aldern's wife's portrait was revealed, she gazed at it for a time. Was this the face he saw when he looked at me? No wonder he kept looking. Shaking her head sadly she said softly, "Iesha... yes, that's what Ameiko said her name was. His wife. I wonder what has happened to her." She shuddered as she turned to follow Seamus up to the Attic.

Qetsiyah was not surprised to find their path turned toward Foxglove manor. She'd refused one invitation to that fateful place, but she couldn't refuse this time. She'd had a sinking feeling ever since the Sheriff had given her that bloody letter. "I think we'll be doin' more than givin' a notice of death at Foxglove manor. And I think you know it too, Seamus." She said as she met the half-elf's eyes before they dropped to the dirt she scuffed at with her boots.

"I found out what a fool I'd been when Ameiko told me that Lord Foxglove was married. I'm guessing that's the she the letter mentioned. I should have said something sooner, but you just don't go around raking a nobleman's name through the muck. Not without proof. But I always knew. It's not like many have ever taken a second look at me." She said sadly and stamped the dust from her soles.

Qetsiyah issues a challenge to the barred guest and strikes again.

Challenge:
Challenge (Ex) 2/day [Swift Action], you can challenge a foe to combat. Choose one target within sight to challenge. Your melee attacks deal 4 extra damage (equal to lvl) whenever the attacks are made against the target of the challenge. Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier's concentration. The cavalier takes a -2 penalty to his Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of his challenge. The challenge remains in effect until the target is dead or unconscious or until the combat ends. Each cavalier's challenge also includes another effect which is listed in the section describing the cavalier's order. Her allies receive a +2 circumstance bonus on melee attack rolls against the target of her challenge whenever she is threatening the target. She also receives a +1 dodge bonus to her AC against attacks made by the target of her challenge. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels the cavalier possesses.

Kizzy grins over Ameiko's comment that they are turning into a proper adventuring party. "So the Heroes of Sandpoint isn't a good enough name? I thought it had a nice ring. We do have one more loose end to tie up at Thistletop, so keep an eye out. If we're late for supper, there may be more trouble for the town soon."

Qetsiyah rose to her feet when Ameiko entered and added a few loud claps of her own to the crowd's applause. When she approached the table, she pulled out a chair for her friend and sat beside her. "Izomandakus is right, it's good to see you looking well... er, better. And really, no thanks are necessary, but I bet you won't see any of us turning down the excellent food here. Or the wine, except maybe for Kast." She said with a grin at the watchman and a wink at 'Meg'.

But she grew serious when there came a lull in the conversation as she put a hand on Ameiko's shoulder. "Look, I know what you went through was horrific. But you should know too that we were able to stop an even bigger attack on the town because of it. It might seem like your kindness to Tsuto was wasted, but if he hadn't come back to try and carry you off... Well, things would have really been a lot worse for everybody. I just thought you should know that." She finished with a sad smile and a warm squeeze.

"We could try the fortune teller, if you want, Izo. I could sit for a reading." Qetsiyah offered, she didn't put a lot of stock into such things since she'd learned that most fortune-telling was more performance art than divination, but it certainly couldn't hurt to try.

It took her a moment to realize that the woman who approached them might be an issue. She stood by, waiting to see what she said.

Qetsiyah greeted the crowd warmly and described all the strange beasts they fought, which she found far more interesting than a tribe of goblins. But she delivered her grisly care-package of goblin ears to Daviren Hosk along with the warhorse. "A fair few of those bounties should go to the horse. He'd killed a number of them himself and so they boarded him up to starve him to death. An extra helping or two would do him some good and he certainly deserves it." She said, giving the heroic beast an affectionate pat. She seemed reluctant to part with him after learning he had no home to return to. "Probably we could all use horses, eventually. He's clearly a survivor. Seems a good fit for a group of travelling heroes." She said with a grin as Val... er, Meg voiced the idea that they might keep him for themselves.

She was a little disappointed that she could not yet see Ameiko but she asked Bethana for a portable dinner and delivered it to Kast's desk, where he was likely working hard, trying to make the perfect report. She read over his shoulder for a few lines, nodding her approval and then left him to his work and meal.

Then she followed after Val... er, Meg again, as usual. Now that she knew the woman was possibly being hunted, she felt even more protective than usual.

When Seamus' starts asking about her goals, Kizzy scowls at him. "You make it sound like I'm out of place here. Like I don't belong. Bored of my company already, huh?" She grumbles in a off-hand manner, or tries to.

But it's pretty clear the idea carries some hurt along with it. "I came to find gainful employment, sure. But it was never really about the money. I want to do something worthwhile, before I travel on with Desna to find my mother once and for all. Until then, if I can be of help, I will. If I can protect good folk from bad folk, I'll do that too. Even skinny, reckless, over-competitive half-elves, when necessary." She added with smirk.

Qetsiyah smiled at Seamus and Val's banter. "I'll take that bet too. And never be happier to lose 10 gold if you win." She says with a wink.

She spends some time tending to the horse as he would need his strength to help pull their load in the morning. She cleans wounds, applies salve and bandages to the best of her limited ability.

She promised to wake 'Mus for his turn at watch and then went around collecting the goblin ears. She had no desire to mutilate the dead but remembering the goblin's meat locker and trophy room, it did not bother her either.

Qetsiyah was unnerved by the strange apparition speaking in a strange tongue. "He mentions Alanznist, you say? Wasn't she the red statue under the Glassworks? It sure sounds like a threat... Maybe those old Thassa-bonians killed each other off?"

She nods her agreement with Kast. "I don't think it's long dead, Izo. It's been calling to Nualia to set it free. I think that means it can't get out on it's own. It needs to trick some unsuspecting soul to let it out, and we could be playing right into it's plans. We really can't even begin to guess what it is or how powerful it might be but the fact that someone locked it away for so long is a decent clue. We've already seen minor beasts that need special materials to even fight them, there's no telling what we might need for this. I think we should take the key with us and come back for it once we're really confident in our armament. We could put the town on guard at least... in case... in case we only succeed in unleashing whatever it is ourselves."

Weird, I could swear I posted yesterday. Something must have gone wrong.

Having skipped breakfast that morning, Qetsiyah was ravenous and spent most of the picnic devouring crab meat when she was not keeping an eye on the perimeter. When the talk turned to smart people, she thought of her littlest brother, Bast. He was the smartest person she knew, maybe she should talk with Sasha about him attending one of the fancy Academies in Magnimar. Living in the city should afford him more options than just being a Flying Suncatcher like the rest of the family.

Maybe even a giant mutant goblin like we saw in that mural. We might leave well enough alone, if it's still locked up. Or else we might want to be sure we're at our best before we open that door." She suggested, always thinking defensively.

Qetsiyah worried for a moment that they faced another ghost, so that she was relieved when it seemed to just be a common crustacean, albeit an overgrown one. "Whew, that thing scared me for a minute! Hey, Mr. Krabs. We were just admiring your shiny shell. I don't suppose you'd like to carry it up top for us? No? Then prepare to be evicted!" And there she was, bound and gagged, and she still managed to strike against us at a critical point. I think it's safe to assume that anyone we find in this place is complicit in attacking Sandpoint. The Sheriff gave us the authority to act in the town's defense. We could have waited for their next attack and hoped we could defend against it, but we chose a proactive approach instead. We chose to bring the fight to them. That makes us the aggressors here, and that isn't a role everyone feels comfortable with. That's alright though, because some of us do. I don't enjoy killing, but I'd like losing one of my friends a whole lot less. It's not about judging them, it's about making sure they won't threaten us again. And I'll stand by that decision. So if you feel like I've done something wrong here, be sure to tell the Sheriff when he returns and I'll happily turn myself in if he wants to charge me with a crime. Alright? Qetsiyah frowns at Izomadakus diatribe on morality. "We came to end the threat to Sandpoint, not to babysit it. Nualia commanded too much power to be left behind and risk her escaping with the help of one of these lackeys. We could have revived her, put some pressure on her and tried to get her to answer some questions, but we could have done that with Tsuto too. It's hard to trust information pulled from captives." She shrugs, clearly not troubled by the necessity of killing in this place.

"You might be surprised what an unarmed person can do when they know the lay of the land and how to turn it to their advantage. There is still more down here to explore and clear and we can't afford to let soft hearts make us vulnerable. If you're determined to leave him alive, bind him, at least."

As Seamus turns to run, Kizzy makes a Lion's Call to try and rally her friends and then moves in to try and protect Izo and Val. "Hey, his bark is worse than his bite! Well, not really... but we beat one with it's master at it's back. We'll take these down too, just stick together. Seamus?"

Lion's Call (Ex) At 2nd level, an order of the lion cavalier gains the ability to rally his allies. Qetsiyah agreed with Izo that Kast was cutting quite a striking figure in the new armor. "Good work with those straps. Looks a lot different on you." She even glanced back a time or two, admiring his washboard abs on display.

She shook off the distraction to focus on the new, somehow flying hounds.

Qetsiyah took her old cloak back and stuffed it in her pack. "Looks good, 'Mus. But is white really your color?" This cloak was the wizard's, if I'm not mistaken.

Kizzy cleared her throat softly, wary of alerting any enemies ahead. "Can't say I care for the art on display." She said with a frown.

What is the lighting and flooring like on this level? Also it looks like we didn't actually explore the room Nualia came out of, just double checking?

Qetsiyah seems to be taking in the news of Meg's revelation in bites, unable to digest the whole of it at once. "Wait... so your name isn't Meg? But Meg was a nanny, like you said and she's dead now?" She blinked and winced slightly at the idea that she'd been calling her friend by a dead woman's name. She leaned against the wall, propping herself up with her Guisarme as she listened to the dark tale.

"Damn, he killed his own daughters?! Why? Nothing could be worth that!" She exclaimed, her eyes welling with tears as she realized the depth of pain her friend has been in since the moment she met her. "By Desna, I guess Nualia was right that my raising was nearly blissful by comparison. I'm so sorry, Meg. Or... uh, is it Val? That might take some getting used to." She said, scratching her head.

"Well, whatever you call yourself, if anybody wants to get to you, they're gonna have to go through me first. Unless you keep stubbornly refusing to back up, anyway." She said, bouncing a light cuff off the woman's shoulder, gently rebuking her for her reckless tactics.

Kizzy shook her head sadly. Seeing Meg standing on her last legs, she whispered, "Meg, you gotta get outta there." But when the Cadenite stood her ground, she decided to try and help her attack to connect and so did her best to distract their foe.

"The good father took you in out of the kindness of his heart and you burned him in his bed and then sacrificed his bones to a demon lord... You give us adopted kids a bad name, Nualia." She sneered at corrupted Aasimar.
