The foragers are surprised to find so much of the animal life missing even by the river, dry bones in some places, the ambient sound of creatures in the thicket conspicuously silent. Subsist is not a rollover activity, no. Best it can do is prevent dipping into Rations supply. And, I forgot to assess a -5 to Subsist for "after 8 hours or less of exploration, but if you do, you take a –5 penalty" How does that change our outcomes (inclusive of fixed LV2 Macros)? Do we have to dip into our 76 Rations? How far?

Barlespin and Red help Squishy keep a lookout for stray undead - they spot a single herd and manage to divert their path around them (S to Evade Undead, lowering Danger Points by 1). Marius, meanwhile, makes an excellent start navigating the River (CS to Sense Direction, bumping Party Speed), while Malendyl keeps a solid lookout in case something unexpected comes (Scout). The trip is otherwise uneventful (S to Random Zombie Encounter Flat Check). Danger Points (During Traveling): 2 = 2
They make roughly 10 miles of the 120-mile journey! By lowest Survivor speed (20 feet = 16 miles per day) bumped to (25 feet = 20 miles per day) due to Marius's CS to Sense Direction, but through Difficult Terrain (River), halving that amount! Setting down to camp for the night under Fair Conditions... Rations (Before Camping): 0 = 0 (Barlespin, how many to start here?)
...Malendyl, Marius, and Squishy all successfully forage for food (How many rations does this offset?), while Barlespin oversees and Red sets up camp for the Survivors... ...Many sleep under the stars while others sleep inside of tents... How many Survivors sleep under the stars? How many in Tents? Not consequential in Fair Conditions, but... Malendyl: In the morning, ahead, you Scout a Murder of Crows before people start moving, and something about them doesn't "feel" right... ...you could advise to your team to head "around" them, but doing so would increase the DC of the day's Sense Direction DC by +5 as well as add 5 miles to the trip by circuitous doublebacking. Avoiding them completely. Or, you could move ahead with the plan unchanged, and risk an Encounter. What will you do?

Malendyl, I'll rule that since Scout allows you two perform the combo Avoid / Scout at half speed, you can perform one of those at three-quarter speed (full speed would be the equivalent of a master-tier skill feat).
