oof, can't remember if we had a rest since the last fight or what is the status of my spell slots... It's been a while

Pytho would surely like to shut that mouth. But just like Erytheis, he is a bit worried about the maul in her hands. Fight it's going to be, and Pytho will fight in the way he best does - with fire.

Fire ray: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
On any result other than a critical failure, the ground in the target's space catches fire, dealing 1d6 fire damage to each creature that ends its turn in one of the squares.

The half-orc shoots flames from his hands, trying to burn the obnoxious priest. And to prepare what is to come, he protects himself with a shield spell.

"Us?" Pytho points at himself with a questioning look on his face.

Ah, the puffed up Gorum-worshipper. There sure was a plenty of that type back in the tribe. And they definitely liked to bully the weaker ones (like Pytho).

Pytho looks at Asta and Erytheis. He sort of would like to put gorumite bullies in their place. But are they up to the task?

"Right... Was that the source of the smell? Are we done" Pytho pokes the creatures with his feet to be sure they're dead. Then he looks up to Asta, and sees the depth of her wounds.

"Gods, girl. We need to get you patched up, you're barely standing..."

So, what options we have for healing in pf2..? I have the heal spell, and another option is treat wounds with medicine check (but I only have +4 there so I can crit fail and possibly kill Asta). Was there other options, I don't think we're in any particular hurry?

Well, that seemed to be effective... Why change the tactic if it works, so Pytho sends another blast of flames to smite the smelly one.

Pytho shoots flames from his hands - he'd really would like to kill the creatures before they get too close.

I think 1k gold is pretty much the equivalent of 10k in PF1. So quite a hefty sum for 1st level characters :)

Ugh, had business trip, delayed flights, and piled up work. Hopefully getting back to normal now.

Sandish box sounds like a good idea. Multiple ways forwards, but GM could present them as a list where we could vote (when the game otherwise would seem to halt) :)

Yeah, let's go with the slow&cheap option. We're not that rich (and gp is much more in pf2e than it was in 1e)

I agree with Erytheis that sandboxes are nice, but pbp makes somethings challenging (like decisionmaking and info fading from memory over months of play)

I have a bit stress from work, so haven't been concentrating on this - but I'll need to browse the thread for all the leads so far.

Pytho tries to come up with some witty banter, but can't think of anything. So instead, he just throws a new ball of fire at the creature.

Fun fact on "targeting"... I recently started playing A song of ice and fire miniature game, and there is a 10-page clarification document and roughly as long blog post on targeting. And still people are wondering "what does this ability target..." :)

Despite the pain, Pytho conjures flames on both of his hands, which lash out at the floating creature.

My moderate curse makes me concealed from enemies - should the creature make a flat check to target me? (Don't know if it can make it's attack without "targeting" me...)

Also, will spend one action to try to figure out the creature. Religion +4 is the only knowledge I have... Will decide the last two actions once the concealement is clarified

Not one to easily learn from his mistakes, Pytho repeats the start of the previous fight and casts incendiary aura. Flames surround him, party hiding him from sight. This time the half-orc decides to have some protection on him, casts a spell to shield him from harm (although he doesn't really know in what form the arm comes from a creature such as this.)

Pytho takes out his healer's tools, and starts cleaning and tending the wounds from last battle. But what wounds were left from the purifying flames, are beyond his skill with the needle.

Medicine, Treat wounds, DC15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 lol, at least not a crit fail

And I think I can't try this again until 1 hour has passed?

Resembles a lot of the other fights I've had in PF2. Going down happens quick in this edition :)

Burned 2/3 (3/5 if counting focus) of my spells, don't know if that is a lot for one encounter.

If there's no hurry, I could use 10 minutes to treat wounds. I don't suppose I can refocus at the same time?

"Easy for you to say, not getting battered and clawed and bitten." Pytho grumbles on the ground. Wincing, he pushes himself up. He takes a quick look at his wounds and decides he'll live. But these clothes have definitely seen better days.

"Gimme a small break to catch my breath, then I could do another fight. Maybe."

Yes, using the reaction to shield block the damage.

Pytho manages to turn his magical shield between him and the skeleton. The undead creature's furious attacks shatter the shield but leave the half-orc unharmed.

Again, Pytho channels the might of the flames to heal. But this time, the divine fire spreads wide, healing also his allies. And even more, these flames also purge the unholy, burning the skeleton in front of him.

Did I understand correcly that I get the +8 hp healed only when casting the 2-action version of heal spell? 3-action version doesn't get that benefit?

Pytho grits his teeth.
That skeleton ripped his throat open, and his upper body is now a river of blood. It takes all his willpower to stay conscious, and all his might just to stay alive.

He calls into powers given to him. He smells the brimstone and feels the heat. And he channels. A divine flame cauterizes his wounds, making him feel better, more alive.

heal: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Then, with more magic, he protects himself against further attacks.

That's almost a crit fail, but not quite? So dying 3 and still here? Can I use hero point after the roll, or do I need to use it before rolling?

”… uncalled for!“ he hisses, and the air around the half-orc starts to heat up.

"Just don't prod me with anything, prof..." Pytho grunts, dragging himself into the arena. He didn't understand much on what the gnome was babbling. But from the sound of it, the professor doesn't have a clue whatever this is.
