Male. Human (Ace). Power Level 8 (120 pp)

So I can't just some of my remaining Gadget points on the two subtle feats? Okay, that's cool.

Here are the rolls:

Knowledge [Tech] (1d20+13=33)

Craft [Elec] (1d20+15=31)

Craft [Elec] (1d20 15=16)

Okay, success on the knowledge roll, success on the first device (the suit disguise), failure on the second (gun disguise).

Prodigy seems lost in his own world as he tinkers with a small object, before finally giving up, a disgusted look on his face. Looking around,he notices the corridor they are in, and reaches out to find out what kind of surveillance they have access to.

"Nice tech." He says, half to himself, half to the group.

Trying to see what their surveillance systems do via Datalink power.
Computer Use. (1d20+17=25)

Prodigy simply grins at Manny's poor attempt at manipulation. "A challenge, hey?" He says, as he rummages around in his box of stuff. "Lets see, I could make some sort of hologram emitter that presented an image of ordinary clothes for the suit, and perhaps make the plasma gun look like a toolbox..." he says, his words trailing off as he loses himself in thought.

Prodigy begins to construct a pair of small devices as the conversations go on around him - he is seemingly oblivious to the world around.

At Marko's words, Prodigy absently pats the large man on the shoulder. "It's a good plan - funny too, which is always a plus in my book." He says, a genuine smile crossing his face.

--------------

By the time the team lands (assuming it's at least a 40 min flight), Prodigy has produced a small wristband-style device that looks almost like a digital watch. Pressing his thumb into the middle of the device, a faint shimmer occurs around him, and he is suddenly wearing clothes identical to what he had on during the briefing - sans headphones.

The second object is a disk that is affixed to the bulky gun, and the same shimmer occurs, making it now appear to be come sort of metal toolbox.

DC 20 Notice to see through the holograms.

PHD:

Spoiler:
Basically, I just made 1-point gadgets that give those two items the 'subtle' power feat, meaning that a person now needs to beat a DC 20 Notice check to realize what he's got with him. The Sky Blade is unaffected by this.

When Prodigy meets the others at the craft, he looks like something out of a science fiction movie. He's wearing some kind of sleek body armor that currently covers him from head to toe, although there's noting covering his face. On his back, rising up over his right shoulder, the others can see a strange, rectangular device. Underneath his left arm, Prodigy looks is carrying a box of various mechanical bits and pieces, and in his right hand he's carrying a thick board, similar in size and shape to a short snowboard, although it's quite a bit thicker.

Picking a random seat, Prodigy takes a few bits and pieces from his box of stuff, and begins to tinker, starting with pulling apart what looks to be an iPod.

Huh, could've sworn Prodigy had left the room at the end of his previous post, but no such event is now mentioned. Hello senility, my old friend...

Yeah, I had to read it again to make sure he hadn't already left - he just moved towards the door.

Male. Human (Ace). Power Level 8 (120 pp)

Prodigy pointedly ignores all of the comments about his age, but nods respectfully to Crawford when he steps in to defend the boy. "Well, we've got a plan of attack. I suggest we get moving, hey?" He says, still standing near the door.

"Boss, I'll need to grab some stuff from the lab, I'll meet you all at the craft shortly." He says, finally leaving the room.

PHD:

Spoiler:
Prodigy heads off to his lab for a few minutes to gather his gear - the sky blade, his prototype combat suit, and his now-functioning rifle. He'll put on the suit (Including the utility belt), strap the rifle to his back, and carry the board. He'll also grab a box with some miscellaneous electronics gear, so that he can build the seeking device.

He'll meet up with the others at the VTOL craft.

"Well, yeah, getting a sample is important - and hey, if you know where we can find this guy, all the better - I'll just make the thing to find him." Said the boy, his tone becoming more childlike in it's delivery.

"I hope he puts up a fight - I can't wait to try out my latest toy!" He said, snapping the cover closed on the metal orb he had been playing with the entire time, and several green display light flickered on.

"I'm gonna need a little time to get the detector happening, boss." He said, leaving his chair and wandering towards the door. "How long is the trip going to be? If we've got at least an hour or so, I could probably knock something together in transit, otherwise, I'm going to need some time here to get it done."

"Of course, once we've got the sample, I'm probably going to need some time to calibrate it for his unique DNA strand." He mused to himself, lost in an impossibly technical train of thought.

"Oh, and for those of you who don't know, the name's Michael. Most of the folks around here call me Prodigy - I'm sure you smart guys and doll can figure out why." He said, by way of introduction. "And if you're still lost, I'm real good with machines. They just sorta like me."

As far as we can tell, Kazinski's ability to mimic others is very accurate, as he essentially is altering aspects of his DNA to mimic their own.

Only one part of their quarry particularly stands out to the young man, and he turns of his music to take a bigger part in the meeting.

"If its only aspects, do we have a sample of his base DNA? Or, if it's total replication, do we have a sample of his latest known victim? I could probably throw something together that will help us track him down by targeting his DNA strand." He says, his voice sounding far more mature than he appeared. "It wouldn't work at great range, but it could give a positive ID in a crowded room maybe." He said, sounding excited about the prospect of going into the feild.

It is common knowledge among the agents of SCARE that SCARE's main R&D department is in Ottawa, and it's rise to prominence didn't occur until prodigy was recruited to the organization a year or two ago. Prodigy was only transferred to Toronto a few months ago, and this is his first field mission.

Spoiler for prodigy

** spoiler omitted **

PHD:

Spoiler:

Sounds like a plan - I like it very much - it makes him an unknown quality in the field. Both to himself, and to SCARE - I'll have fun playing with that.

I also like the idea that Prodigy pretty much is the R&D department - it gives him the ability to make demands on SCARE.

One idea that was mentioned earlier was that he has a agency-supplied handler who can smooth over various issues to do with his (apparent) age and so on. Can it be a woman? Mainly because it would be fun to have Prodigy try to chat her up.

Male. Human (Ace). Power Level 8 (120 pp)

At one end of the conference table, a young boy can be seen fiddling with a mechanical ball, its electronic nature betrayed by the mess of wires currently spilling out of the device. A look of intense concentration is fixed on his face, and faint strains of music can be heard from the chunky headphones resting over the boy's ears, as he pays the others in the room little mind.

At first glance, one would wonder what a boy his age is doing in a place like this, with his scruffy black hair, faded blue jeans, black Halo 3 t-shirt, and old red and white Converse sneakers. That is, until one notes the ID badge prominently displayed on a lanyard around his neck, proclaiming him to be an agent and technical specialist for SCARE.

When Crawford walks in, the boy looks up, his hands still working on the device before him. "Hey boss. How did the boys over in R&D like my new toy?" He asks, a smile on his face. His voice seems oddly out of place, sounding far too intelligent for a boy his age. As he speaks, he rests his headphones around his neck, revealing a set of pointed ears - marking him as a Joker to some degree.

PHD:

Spoiler:

For argument's sake, just pretend it was some kind of cloaking device.

Male. Human (Ace). Power Level 8 (120 pp)

And here he is- Prodigy, all statted up for your viewing pleasure. All the info is in the profile - now I just need to write up his flavor - which is already looking pretty solid.

I think I'm going to have a ball playing this guy!

@DM Snake: If you go here , you can fine the racial subs - bu I also wrote them out verbatim. If its still a no go, I'll go with the normal bard.

Male. Human (Ace). Power Level 8 (120 pp)

Below are my dicerolls. I have removed the lowest roll from each set to obtain the following stat set:

Spoiler:

Also, I'll repeat my earlier question: Am I permitted to use the Gnome Bard racial substitution levels? They are found in Races of Stone, if you need to know.

As soon as you answer this question, I can build my character properly.

Male. Human (Ace). Power Level 8 (120 pp)

This message is appearing in multiple threads - I will be posting IC, or building characters as appropriate for the character I am posting as when I get home from work.

Thanks for your patience.

Hmm and our bard of mystery is yet to appear. Isn’t it like a bard to be fashionably late ;)

Clearly, you've never met Tyrcin...

Tyrcin Dallen, Gnomish Bard, at your service.

*courtly bow*

Random question - are we allowed to use racial substitutions (Specifically the Gone Bard from Races of Stone)?
