Kat turns over her recordings to the First Seeker of the inside of the pyramid and its contents. She watches Khendai leave, content that she did all she could to protect him during his extraction. She is happy to see him free to leave and find a life for himself.

"Thank you for allowing me to work with your established crew" The Andriod tells you all. "We may not have found the treasure, but we helped that poor soul along the way. At least your friend won't be too upset, we didn't bring the treasure home without her. Oh, which reminds me. I have prepared this". The android reaches to the rear of her skull and removes a small storage device. "I have encoded my experiences on this mission on this device. Please, give it to her if you meet again. She may review it, and add it to her memory banks as if she shared the experience with you all. Take care, fellow Starfinders."

She hands the small chip to Mahari, turns on her heels and makes for the exit. Medbay?

Kat uses the ship's sensors to scan the beacon, knowing the download may take some time again.

"I wonder how many of these beacons are out here. How many more breadcrumbs to follow."

Satisfied that the danger has passed, Kat seems to relax as her combat protocols shut down. As they examine the statues, she thinks back to the details that lead to her conclusion that they may be the defense constructs. "I've seen to many statues animate. It's nice that they're just statues." she tells her team as they admire the pieces. She also logs any interesting details, such as the runes in dortay's chambers for the society to study.

"Thank you for your assistance here, Rishni."

Kat moves away from the swarming stones, fighting both the impacts and the nausea.

Thanks for much for the tips. I spent awhile pouring over the operative but obviously missed a few points. Tough to jump into a new class, especially at higher levels. I appreciate you helping me out.

Kat rushes forward, using the closest exhibit to conceal her movement until she reaches it and skips out to the side, pistol at the ready.

I didn't apply any conditions to my rolls that may be caused by the radiation. I'll go for the off-target condition again as well, even though I'm sure that's just encouraging her to use her more powerful spells.

Kat also appears to turn and flee behind khendai before spinning on her heels and leveling her pistol at Dortay.

Because Mahari hit and caused the flat footed condition, Kat will use her debilitating trick attack to cause Dortay to be off-target if successful. This post took me alot of extra time to navigate all my new abilities, and I hope I got them correct!

"Go, move!" Kat urges Khendai then turns to face Dortay.

Engineering: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22Did not exceed by 5, just barely made it

Kat takes notice of the network of Aeon stones but doesn't read to much into them. She asks Nihm, who is close by, "What do you make of the network of Aeon stones around her?"

"Yes, you're coming with us. Keep your head down and let's move." Kat takes up a place behind Khendai and places a hand on their shoulder to guide them, pistol in the other hand. It appears as though Kat6 shares the same security protocols as Kat5e. "Let's move in a diamond formation around the principal. Usually the job is to avoid any contact." she tells the other starfinders, then adds to Khendai in an almost-but-not-quite reassuring flat tone "Everything will be just fine, just do exactly as I say"

...I suspect she will appear to stop us when we try to leave. If it doesn't matter where we fight her and we have any doubts about justification, I suspect she will attack us first.

"I am always comfortable defending myself"

She nods at Mahari and Croaker's assessments. "If you all feel that this is the correct course of action, I'm not going to stay behind. As long as our actions are justified. If we don't carefully consider taking a life, what does it say about our organization? I am glad we had this discussion. It seems our motives are reasonable"

She pauses for a moment, calculating some variables, then offers "Tactical considerations: our only approach is through the open garden. Strong possibility of constructs guarding Dortay or the entrance. Speculation: The dancing statues. We should maybe to as Nihm suggests and draw her out of her hiding place, and meet her on our terms."

The other question on my mind: "Is this part of our mission, or do we leave here and look for the beacon on the asteroid we already have the information to find?"

Once out of earshot of Rishni, Kat voices her concerns as well.

"I've been wondering the same. Do our mission parameters include assassination? She has committed crimes here, but does that give us the right to storm her palace? We should take the evidence we have collected to the society and have the proper legal routes followed. It doesn't sound like Rasheen had any business here at all, which is our primary objective. I'm not comfortable attacking the Lady just because we've been encouraged to do so by her second in command. Which struck me as odd the entire time we were speaking."

Kat examines the sarcophagi, accessing her memory banks for any relevant facts. "Each one of these is decorated based on various regions of Old Golarion. This modified one represents the Tombs of Nidal. This Lion headed woman appears to be Osirion. Does that hold any significance to anyone?"

She shares what she knows of the statues with the other starfinders, adding: "Curious, I wonder how many of the other items of old Golarion here use the same artistic license."

I was looking at mechanic tricks for the real Kat as she moves to level 6, one is using her Exocortex to power devices. I was wondering when I'd ever use it. Looks like I missed my chance!

Kat approaches Nihm while fishing into her gear for a spare battery, locating one of the spares for her thunderstrike pistol. She extends the component to the Ysoki. "Here, you can use this if you need it"

Finished with the download, the android moves to a place where she can observe the garden as well. She pokes her head in and examines the states when she hears Croaker and Teleemo discussing them.

Culture on Statues: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28

"Even androids choose not to live forever. When our physical bodies start to fail, parts can be replaced. Hell, my check engine light is on most of the time. You learn to tune it out. But the soul grows restless. You know when it's time to move on, if you've been lucky enough to make that choice on your own."

Fearing that she isn't very tactful, she avoids the questions and proceeds to the terminal to access Rasheen's log.

"Why was Rasheen denied access?" She asks as she works.

While she is more focuses on Rasheen's trail, if she can access and copy the files of old Golarion for the society, she will attempt that as well.

"Did your associates go willingly, or did they fight it as you did? What was the lady's purpose for those that were uploaded? What kind of work are they completing?"

Kat is curious but isn't sure the frightened lashunta has anything more for them. She is anxious to find the 'real' Rishni.

Kat follows Azara's lead and keeps her hands open and off her firearms. She remains silent, letting the more skillful negotiators do their work. If this doesn't work, shouting commands to get on the ground are out the window. she thinks as she assesses her 'use of force' escalation.

I want to contribute to the diplomacy, but all I have is ranks in intimidate. Would have liked to use the 'bully' skill but it reads "You must spend at least 1 minute conversing with the creature." which gives me the impression it can't be used in a 6 second combat round. Am I reading/understanding right?

The android holds until the lashunta proves to be a danger to the group, and not just defending itself. She watches as her teammates try to reason with it.

Delaying

"well, this got dark quick Kat tells the others as she examines the logs.

She considers Mahari's comment and nods at the question of Khendai being undead. "Seems that way. Also seems like the transition may not have been voluntary." she offers, trying to keep her voice down incase Rishini is listening in.

"Rishini not being able to connect to his servers might have him isolated from what's going on deeper here. Nimh could be right, we should be cautious of him, especially if we access the main network. We should play along with him though as guests and keep exploring".

The android moves to the inventory documents and examines them.

....I suggest we be on the lookout for the people who were stranded here. Or at least their bodies which may be dead but not still."

"Or people suspended here. Take a look at these. These circled parts, when used together, could be uses to construct a basic stasis pod. Maybe they planned on holding out until rescue arrived."

Taking a cue from the documents, her eyes are drawn to the holo table.

"....like this one, displayed here. Look, this details the modifications they planned. Let's keep an eye out for this deeper in the labyrinth"

A computer also sits on the desk, though if touched the monitor jitters to life displaying the lock screen.

She has no further questions and is ready take play along with the guided tour to learn more.

Kat looks at Croaker, and has an odd moment of deja vu of an A.I. not being able to recall mysterious information.

While she is curious about the nature of Lady Dortay, she decides to push on with the main task at hand. "Do you maintain a record of previous guests? We're interested in one in particular who may have visited long ago."

She waits to hear a reaction before name dropping Rasheen.

The android has been quietly watching its surroundings as the group moves through the pyramid's depths. As the Sphinx animates, it processes a moment if danger and starts it's security protocols before it speaks. She seems almost caught off guard for a moment, but relaxes her stance eventually.

"Guide us?" she asks, with a glance back at the crew. "Great. Maybe you can start by telling us a little more about this place"

Sorry for disappearing the last few days, got a little hectic, all good now for my regularly scheduled program

Culture: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29

"Scanning for landing zones... Looks like a clearing near our coordinates, about a mile out. From these scans, alot of these structures seem familiar. Anyone else know much about Golarion? I swear, they all seem like landmarks that I've read about. Call me crazy, but the big pyramid we're headed for matches the pyramid from Osirion."

She goes quiet as she brings the ship around the pyramid, then over to the clearing.

"We thank you for flying with the Starfinder Society, we know you had your choice of interplanetary flights and we appreciate you flying with us today. The temperature outside is a sweltering desert, with one standard gravity. Enjoy your stay" she broadcasts over the shipwide intercom in a deadpan voice as she brings the ship's full weight down on its landing gear.

"Alright. Welcome aboard. You know us, but we don't know what you're really capable of. If you can, how about you take the pilot's seat and show us what you've got," she says trying to hide the implied challenge.

Kat6 just nods and moves to the pilots terminal, bringing the ship up to full power once the crew is settled in, and easing it from the docking station, out into nearspace, and finally into the drift.

"Is anyone else a little nervous about all this holo-cloak and hold out pistol stuff? Why did we have to wait until we were in the Drift before reviewing this message?" he says after the message is played.

"If they're worried about data security, I suppose it makes sense. I wouldn't want whoever is behind this data scourge to beat us to the punch."

The stranger nods at Kat's instructions, and watches she she moves away.

"Haven't seen a K.A.T.-5 model for awhile. That generation was plagued with problems, especially the "e" version.. Who builds a companion android with a bad attitude and a predisposition for violence. Bad code."

"Anyway, I don't want to get off on the wrong foot. I'm not here to replace your friend. I've reviewed your files, so I feel like I know you guys already. So, we shouldn't have that awkward 'getting to know you' phase. In fact, if you want to call me by your friend's name, that's fine too. It will be like nothing's changed"

I haven't seen the linked movie in years but was reminded of that scene this week. Just the first minute is what I'm referencing.
