On Piper's turn
Piper is amused at the fact that her party was able to dispatch the 2 other lions so quickly but is immediately brought to awares as the larger lion tries to bite her. She instead bites back.
Piper's Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Piper's Claw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Piper's Claw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Grab attempt: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
And Buck positions himself to do the same:
Buck's Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Bucks's Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Buck's Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Grab attempt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 (only if Bite is successful)
Female Aasimar Druid/4 (Lion Shaman) * HP 35 * AC 17 * Touch 13, FF 15, CMD 19 * Fort +5, Ref +3, Will +6 (+4 vs. fey and plant-targeted effects) * Resist Acid, Cold, Electricity 5 * Init +6 * Percept. +11
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Piper begins to look more like a lion as her eyes become more almond shaped, her hair transforms into a bushy mane, a tail grows from behind, her hands and feet grow claws, and her nose and mouth seems to elongate. She drops down onto her front paws as if to pounce. She roars and whips her tail in the direction of the lions. At which time Buck pounces onto one of them.
Buck's action:
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 Bite Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Claw 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Claw Damage?: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Claw 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Claw Damage?: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Grab: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Piper's transformation was a standard action, she doesn't move this turn

So all that leaves is Slot 3...Maybe since this one--she hold up the one roaring & leaping--hasn't worked yet, let's set it aside. That only leaves these two." She then holds up the one wearing a crown and the one that is pulling the block. Start with the crown?
She places the one wearing a crown in Slot 3.
So it looks like this:
Slot 1: #4 (Spectacles & Scrolls)
Slot 2: #1 (Cunning)
Slot 3: #6 (Wears crown)
Slot 4: #5 (Wears flag)
If nothing happens then she replaces Slot 3 with statue #3, the one pulling the block.

Piper's guess:
Slot 1: Statue 4 (Spectacles & Scrolls)
Slot 2: Statue 5 (wears flag)
Slot 3: Statue 1 (Cunning)
Slot 4: Statue 6 (wears crown)
"It tells a story of sorts."

"Well at least they won't come to life." Piper says after her scan. She stands by and commands Buck to sit as she looks to see what the little ones may have found.

Piper takes the rear of the group's procession through the hallway, with Buck following her. She is immediately mesmerized by being in the company of more lions (no matter that they are stone) once she enters the room. She scans the room for any magic she might find here.

I would like to push for the Boon, but am willing to continue if it plays out that way. I, unfortunately, will not be going to PaizoCon so getting the Chronicle by the end of the scenario is fine. And sure I can be a go-between if needed.

Did Feona not need healing?

Is Feona down and unconscious? Is she really at -1? If she is I will take this acton:
Piper sees Feona has fallen and is unconscious and she reaches down and touches her while speaking in a language no one can understand asking for Gozreh's healing powers.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
She then tries to stabilize her own bleeding. Heal check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
If I read that incorrectly, then this is my action:
Piper seeing that the books are done attacking and that the rest of the party seems to be okay, tries researching what is left in the room with the little knowledge she has. Research with Knowledge (Nature)--maybe?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24.

Piper, thinking that Arvyx's words are of import, Much better than the fire I was planning to use steps out of the room. Buck attempts one more bite at the swarm of books before turning and leaving the room as well.
Buck bite: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 = 22 Bite Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

Piper really has no knowledges except Nature so she won't be doing much research. She will continue attempting to take care of the swarm for now. By the way, did Buck not attack the swarm even with the Nat 20?

On my turn...
Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Seeing that the Entangle spell is creating more havoc for her companions than the books, Piper dismisses the spell with a wave of her hands and steps back away from the swarm (5 foot diagonal). She then pets Buck and murmurs something as she does -- casting Magic Fang, lasts 4 minutes.
Buck's turn:
Buck steps into the room and bites at the swarm.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24 (extra +1 from Magic Fang)
Confirm crit (if critable): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 1 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7 and Crit damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5
After successfully biting at the books, Buck tries to tear at them.
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Damage if that actually hits: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Damage if that actually hits: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

We will need to hustle after this combat. And thank you for the allowance of Entangle. I am interested in your perspective after this as I GM a weekly PFS at my local store and I have a couple of druids that play occasionally and love their Entangle spell.

Yes, Piper casts Entangle but wouldn't it be on the pages themselves since there are no other "plant" life other than the tables (I would recon)? So they might be be to fly out of the entanglement but would it follow them as they are the entangler as well? LOL Am I overthinking this one?

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Piper is startled by the paper swarm but thinks quickly on how to quietly and quickly stop the attack "from books of all things!" She decides that fire would be the quickest way to dispose of them but doesn't want to burn the place down. Instead she takes a five foot step out of the swarm of papers and casts Entangle on the books to stop them from swarming.
The books and paper are made from plants, so this should work right? ;-)

Piper says to Feona, "Well, do you mind opening the lock on this one? I really want to see what that fluttering is all about. "

I'm not sure what the rolls are for, tbh.
Piper notices the pages move on their own and raises an eyebrow at Feona. She attempts to Detect Magic on the case to see what may be causing the flutter.

Piper sighs wishing she knew more about books and history. The only thing she is knowledgable about is Nature, this is overwhelming! But, oh, how beautiful this room is. She may not know a lot but maybe she can assist the historian.
Appraise assist: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Before she steps into the room with the Ancient Books, she looks to Tugo & Arvyx, "Tobias, Tugo, did you see something in the other room of any interest?"

Upon looking into the room, Piper deducts that with the personal items that are on the desks, this must be the Study Room. She steps over to the other door the Caretaker unlocked and peeks in squinting a bit against the contrast of light, hoping to find the Ancient Books.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Piper is fearful to speak as she might upset the balance that has been forged here. But instead peers into the first room that the Caretaker has unlocked.

Piper exchanges glances with Decado, shakes her head and shrugs as if to say "What are you going to do?" She says a silent prayer to Gozreh to guide them out of this situation unscathed and hopes Arvyx can finesse his way out of this intrusion of the little ones.
Upon looking around to catalogue possible escapes if needed she sees that one of the small ones has kept back. She seems out of sorts and shy and unlike her fellow halflings she isn't as rambunctious, that is a value she admires. As Keia speaks, Piper tries to catch her eye. She then winks, smiling her most radiant, friendly smile hoping to ease any discomfort the small historian may feel.

Piper lets out the breath she unknowingly was holding, relieved the ruse worked.
Hmmmm, the Ancient Books area sounds appealing, there might be something for us in the Administrator's Office. Wait! Is this the Caretaker the stone lion spoke of? She closes her eyes as she tries to recall his words to her. Be kind to her for her sight and son are in our protection and something about her holding more keys.
Piper peeks into the room to see if she can spot the keys the lion was referring to or to see if he was just waxing poetic.

Piper stands in the hallway observing Feona do her thing--mentally hoping she doesn't open another door that brings on trouble--and listening to the conversation Arvyx is having with the woman inside the room. She stands alert for any trouble but remains quiet as to not give away her presence. Buck is alert and aware but being quiet as well.

Upon hearing Arvyx rattle on about doors, Piper remembers there are others across the hallway from where they just were. Shrugging, she thinks to herself we can investigate those later if time allows.
Out loud she states, "I wouldn't mind taking a quick look into these doors before heading up. Those stairs might just lead to the library or the theater above anyway. Arvyx would you mind taking a look at that door before we open it?" She points to the southernmost doors on the east side of the hallway.

Piper smiles glad that her companions were able to please the magnificent feline before them. She is also relieved as she didn't have any stories regarding the Worldwound as her duties to the Society has taken her elsewhere in Golarian. She notices the thing that slides from his mane as it bounces to the ground. "Thank you, your Majesty. Your existence is awe-inspiring. Myself and Buck can only wish to become as great of a force as you! She bows deeply as she finishes and reaches to pick up what was dropped.
Buck who has sat mesmerized by this statue that moves walks over to it and gently bumps his head against the lion as if to 'pet' him.
Anyone who owns a cat knows what this looks like. <wink>

Piper tips her head to the Lion, and gives a commend for Buck to sit and heal. After Tugo regales the stone feline with one of his entertaining stories, she speaks up, "I am Piper Penelope, lion shaman for the forests of the Great Empire of Taldor. I am also an agent of the Pathfinder Society and as an agent I seek the history of Taldor wherever I can find it. My adventures take me many places to protect our fair city. None of which is as interesting as this beautiful library for which you were bestowed the honor of guarding. And may I introduce Buck, he strives to be as mighty and knowledgeable as you."
Piper isn't used to being such a flatterer but she hopes by sweetening up to the lion, he will quiet down and maybe let them in those rooms behind him.

The booming voice startled Piper into silence and Buck stood alert, hackles raised and a low growl growing in his throat. But upon the second question that was growled out of the statue, Piper places her hand on Buck and responds, "I am a lion shaman, and Buck here is a lion. But we don't carry blades so I am not sure what a Lion Blade would look like. If you are recruiting, I might be interested."

Not to be outwitted by a door, Piper remembers that one of the female small ones was searching doors as if she had experience with such matters. I cannot make the same mistake with their names again, I don't care what Father says, they do not all look the same! Keia is the one who gets lost in the books, I think she called herself the historian. It must have been the other one. Feona!"
She then walks over to the table and looks at what the others are studying, remembering what Tugo said. It rang odd to her. Obecience, is that even a word? I have never heard it uttered. Obedience, maybe even Obeisance. But not Obecience
She looks to Keia and asks her, "Have you ever heard of a Bell of Obedience or Obeisance in your history studies by any chance?"
Not waiting to hear an answer, she doesn't want to be rude but they *are* on a time limit here, she turns to Feona and asks, "Might we please use your skills to check these doors?" Pointing to the ones that Decado and Tugo are in front of.

Piper is lost as to what is going on here with cyphers and puzzles and books, nothing seems to jump out at her as far as Taldan history goes, so she scans the actual room for clues, again taking precaution not to study the lion statue too closely. How did I not see these doors earlier? Looking at Decado and realizing he might be as uncomfortable in this area as she, says to him, "Decado, would you like to join me in delving further into this room?"
She then points to the doors flanking the lion statue.

Piper is perplexed as to why Arvyx and Feona pulled these out. "Do any of these have anything to do with anything?"

Piper peruses the categories hoping something will jump out at her that is of any kind of relevance.
Researching in a musty old library is really not my forté. Gozreh give me guidance to find something useful.
Piper then feels the divine power of Gozreh fill her mind with Guidance as she looks among the shelves.

Piper comes to her senses as Feona and Arvyx rush to her aid. "Thank you," she says thickly. "I am fine," looking into her companions worried faces, "Really. No damage, just a bit of brain jostling is all. That lion statue has very powerful magic, powerful indeed. T'is the strongest I have yet to sense, so bright and so loud. I am not sure what to make of it and I won't be trying again anytime soon." She shakes her head to completely clear the ringing as she picks up her fallen staff, leaning on it for a bit of support and pets Buck, as if for comfort.
I wonder if this is the relic Lady Morilla was looking for, I am not sure what magic this may have but it might be worth mentioning.
After taking a moment to settle herself, Piper starts looking around the room trying to avoid eye contact with the lion statue and reads the categories. "Right then," she states, clapping her hands (not too sharply, she is after all in a library). "Let us see what secrets of the past these books have to reveal, shall we?" She then proceeds to the Taldoran history section.

Piper enters the room followed closely by Buck. She stops in her tracks as she sees the immense library in front of her.
After the initial shock wears off, she slowly proceeds to the lion statue, scanning the room for any movement and detecting magic in a cone to include the statue.

After making sure to let the last person in the secret area know that they can successfully close the door without locking everyone in, Piper enters the hallway cautiously and asks Feona if she could check the closest door (the one on the east) for any dangers and maybe see if it is locked.

"Good work Tugo!" Piper exclaims as the halfling finds the right combination to open the bookshelves. She then picks up a thick book from another shelf and places it, open, on the table the furthest from the door and calls Buck over to lie on the floor at the chair's feet. After setting the scene she places the card under her chair and watches with amazement as a replica of herself appears to be perusing the book on the table. She also marvels at the mass of fur that is at her feet. It looks like it could easily be a sleeping lion.
If that Buck isn't in the image, I understand and will think of a plan B
Piper is very pleased with the image. She reminds everyone that this mirage only lasts 2 hours so they must hurry along. She then waits for Decado to lead the party into the secrets beyond.
Does it look like there is a way to close the entrance once everyone is in the hallway/on the stairs? Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

Hearing the clash of the drums and quickly recognizing The Glory of Taldor's beginning, overcomes her with a sense of honor. She smiles and allows the music to wash over her as Tugo works through the puzzle.

Excited that her friends are so enthusiastic about the search and that Tugo found a clue that corresponds with the puzzle before them.
"Hello! What do we have here? A hinged bookshelf! there must be something close by the opens it.

After all of her companions enter the room, Piper closes the door as to not be disturbed by curious, prying librarian eyes or ears. She looks Tugo's way and says,"Good thinking although it may not be that obvious. We may need to use our eyes to look for honor, courage, and glory!" She proceeds to scan the books in the shelves for ones that speak of honor, courage, and glory in their titles. While looking for those she also remembers Lady Morilla's request and searches for anything that speaks of Taldor history or might pose as the relic she is searching for.

Piper stifles a giggle as Arvyx spouts some "Taldorian Law" that she has never heard of. He seems to know his stuff though. She manages to keep a straight face through sheer willpower.
She leans in to answer Decado, "Yes, he will follow me, he will also fight for me if I require." The whisper is barely heard by even herself, so she is sure the librarian didn't overhear, besides Arvyx seems to have him occupied at the moment.

Buck has Stay & Down as two of his tricks. I would guess this is a Handle Animal DC10, since he is my druid companion and already trained in the trick, correct? If so: Handle Animal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Piper tries not to show her offense at the mere idea that Buck isn't well behaved. She lies her hand on Buck's head and tells him, "Listen to the young man, my precious." At which time the lion promptly stretches his body out, then sits. If felines could have a look of disdain on their face, Buck seems to have one as he stares at the librarian.
