Hm. Thought I already posted about this. Oh well.

Uh, my life's in a pretty bad place right now, and for the forseeable future I'm riding my best friend's couch. The game is still on (although I had to cancel me three non-adventure path games), but my posting rate is, as you may have already been able to tell, going to be a little shakier. One a day is still very much doable, but lurking around all day and reliably making multiple posts where possible isn't really in the cards anymore.

Ah, I'm really sad to hear that mate. Don't stress about keeping the post rate up if: if you need to focus on the real world by all means put us on hold when you need to.

Is there anything we can do to help?

Damnations! I was sure that plan was going to be more effective than that. Piety grimly winds around the door, grabbing her morningstar as she does so, and charges at the nearest combatant. As she does so, she checks the garb of these combatants to see if they match the earlier heretics they spotted.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Know (Rel): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Morningstar attack + Bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16
Morningstar damage + Bless: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 = 6

Given that Piety initiated this encounter by opening the door, I'll assume that she doesn't take any other action until the next round of combat rolls around.

Congratulations. Wedding planning is consuming.

Haha thanks very much.

It's mostly been ok so far, but she's just finished university for the session and suddenly had the free time to plan, so she's gone a bit trigger happy. I on the other hand still have exams to stress over :P

Piety follows Steave's order and moves to the door. She stows the mace to open the door, but keeps her shield arm up in preparation for the battle ahead.

Once everyone is in place she mouths a silent "Three. Two. One." before pulling the door open as silently as possible.

Sorry about the slow replies the last few days. It's a long weekend here, and my fiancée has made sure we've gotten the most out of it for wedding planning :D

Piety had followed her companions up to the guardroom, and was greatly heartened that the consensus was to treat the guards with relative care. Her earlier concerns that these traitors were redeemable had certainly not diminished. So when Aeryx's pommel strike came down as hard as it did, Piety lurched forward automatically to make sure the afflicted guard was not mortally wounded.

Untrained Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Assuming Menedumus's strike is equally damaging, Piety will do a quick untrained heal check to make sure the non-lethal wasn't enough to do excess lethal. Once the guards are bound and fully gagged, if - and only if - they are severely wounded she'll channel for 1d6 ⇒ 3 to make sure they're all right

Piety listens anxiously for any sounds of combat ahead, her shield and the new mace clasped firmly in hand. Although the weapon feels unnatural compared to the sword she had spent so many hours training with, she is comforted by the obvious care the Chief had shown it.

Assuming either Aleister's familiar returns with the message or Piety hears the sound of combat, she will charge up the slope and attack the nearest hostile with the mace

dice:

Mace Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Mace Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Given how much dangerous stuff is down here so far, I'd prefer to take them with us where we can care/heal for them if need be. Especially if we're on our way back to the surface.

I'm just about to head to work, but I'll try and post Piety's actions once I get to the office.

And for some strange reason, the AP designers never remember to include "Grooming Kits" on the corpses of underground cultists. A clear oversight on their part, methinks.

I'll happily take the morningstar, if there are no objections. It's on my weapon list and is strictly better than my longsword at the moment.

Touched by the chieftain's loss, Piety accepts the offered heirloom. "I can't speak for my friends, but I'll be certain to stamp out anyone we cross who is consorting with demon cultists." She seems to stop short as if struck by indecision. "May I ask though, what do you think caused these tribes to become traitorous in the first place? Your community here seems so close."

I know Iomedae call me to pursue justice and attack all that is evil... but when did I become so cold? Damn it all... this underground labyrinth is getting to me more than I thought. Piety's shakes her head bitterly to herself when she is done talking to the chief.

"Just the scroll will be fine." Piety accepts the proffered item and follows Steave as they move onwards.

Yeah, I keep getting it confused. I might just change it to the Mendevian priest because it sounds cooler anyway.

Piety heeds Aravashnial suggestion, and pries the unholy symbol from the deadman's hand.

"Not only are they impersonating the Inheritor, but that they've managed to infiltrate Kenabres so thoroughly that they've found their way into this twisted underground few even know about. It's probably a fortunate thing this plant beast killed them before they led anyone else astray."

Unconsciously, Piety's free hand curls behind her to grip a handful of her tabard between stiff fingers. It provides a small comfort against memories that she would rather leave long buried. There are just so many that can be led astray in a city this size...

Yep, east coast Australian, GMT+10. Well, there we go. I'll try and make sure I post first thing in the morning and last thing before bed, which will hopefully cover the gap a little.

That check was meant to be Knowledge (Planes), I was running from memory. It's one of the Devilbane priest bonuses. Sorry for the mistake.

So, thought it might be worth asking what time zones everyone is in? There just seemed to be a flurry of activity, but for me it's 2:37 in the morning and I'm only up because of a last minute uni assignment.

As the group passes the apparent Iomedae worshipers, Piety begins a brief prayer of the fallen. "... and to the heart strike true, that even unto death your justice be se-..." her words cut short when she notices the Bull symbol. Something about it doesn't seem right, and she wracks her brain trying to make a link.

Arcana: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13+3 if demons or cults are involved

Unsettled, she is interested to hear Lann's answer about the traitorous tribe.

Still not sure exactly able to see their current threat, Piety keeps slightly apace of Aeryx and readies herself for combat. The continual straining against the dark, the weight of her shield and stress of the continual combats are beginning to wear her thin. Piety mumbles a quiet "I'll take point", certain she'd heard Steave use the phrase earlier, but not exactly sure what it meant.

Piety readies an action to attack with her longsword, should anything charge at Aeryx after his arrow shot. She'll be next to him, or 5ft ahead if the cave is too narrow.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Piety stares wearily into the darkness, on edge against something else that could threaten her new found comrades. "Who knew there was a whole world like this under Kenabres... and all of it trying to kill us! It's a marvel these mongrel men are still alive."

Howdy team, I'm greatly looking forward to playing with you all :)

GM: I own physical copies of Wrath Of The Righteous, but haven't read it past the very opening, so a brief update of where we're up to would be much appreciated. Did you want to write Peity in somehow or just assume she'd been there all along?

Just out of wondering, when is the deadline?

Alright, so far, quite a few good applications coming in. This is good.

@Piety: Fortunately, there may or may not be Glabrezu in the game that could be tweaked a little. Unfortunately, I don't believe Pazuzu plays any role in this campaign, since the primary enemy is Baphomet.

That's no worries, I can certainly try and tweak the backstory as need be. That being said, is Baphomet the type of Demon Lord to go for such a slow deception?

Honestly, I think it'd be half as much fun if I don't know what type of demon it was that enthralled Piety. Glabrezu made sense from my GM-ing perspective, but on second thought if Piety never saw the demon as anything but a Bird, how would she know? That makes her quest for redemption that much more challenging as she needs to first find the damned thing before she can even start on revenge.

I'll try and work on it again sometime by tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback :)

Spooky -- What are your thoughts on non-human Aasimar (specifically, the small-sized ones) -- I was thinking that as a cavalier, being small (and thus, having a medium mount) would be more effective -- there'd be no leaving the mount behind.

From the alternate rule suggestion, it looks like there's no changes to modifiers or abilities other than sizes (so really, just the x.75 carrying capacity and the shrinking of weapons).

I once (briefly) GM'd a game with a gnomic tiefling, I believe they took the Aasimar stats as their base, and lowered the movement speed, carry capacity and the weapon size stuff accordingly.

Ok, full backstory is uploaded in the character profile. It's fairly average writing, but I was trying to pump it all out in one sitting because I have a massive Economics Essay to work on tomorrow.

Would love any feedback from players or the GM to just neaten it up a bit :)

NerdOfTheYear here, submitting the crunch for 'Piety' (name pending), a Devilbane Priest of Iomedae for team 2.

I'm just working on the backstory and such and hope to have it finished in an hour or two.
