Because he's... wait. Why do you have Style Feats and Dervish Dance? Now I'm very confused.

Dervish Dance is for the Dexterity to damage with a Scimitar and allows me to use that same weapon for the Duelist Prestige Class. With a +1 Scimitar, at level 6, this character is doing 1d6 + 8 before power attack. It's not game-breaking, but it's respectable.

The style feat lowers the attack penalty for fighting defensively and allows me to pick up the next one in the chain -- which negates one melee hit per round.

Combined with the Parry ability from Duelist, this character is potentially negating two melee attacks per round while getting +7 AC for only a -1 attack penalty (+2 Fighting Defensively, +1 for ranks of Acrobatics, +1 Crane Style, +3 for Elaborate Defense from Duelist 9)

Also for multiclassing, That Vivisectionist thing is an Idea, though if you are going to have a free arm, I suggest going for a vanilla alchemist. Another I suggest is urban barbarian. Dex rage is beautiful.

I will definitely take a look at Vivisectionist and the Urban Barbarian. Dex rage would add directly to both AC and damage, which is nice.

Yeah, I know it's not the world's best idea, but please don't suggest trying something else. It (approximately) fits in with the rest of the group's level of optimization. :)

So I'm trying to make a purely dex-based character that can still do some damage while having a relatively defensive slant. This is replacing a character that died.

NOTE: CRB, APG, UC and UM are allowed. Stats were rolled, so they can be re-arranged but not altered.

Below is what I have so far:

6th level fighter (Weapon Master)

13 STR (just for PA)
23 DEX (+2 elf, +2 item, +1 at level 4)
13 CON
20 INT (+2 elf, +2 item)
10 WIS
14 CHA

Feats: Weapon Finesse, Dodge, Dervish Dance, Power Attack, Mobility, Improved Unarmed Strike, Crane Style.

NEXT LEVEL: Duelist, for at least a few levels. Dervish Dance makes that work with a scimitar, Crane Wing will help avoid more hits.

------------------------

After I get at least the second Crane-style feat (and possibly the third, since I get Combat Reflexes free with Duelist), I'm a bit unsure on feats.

I'd like to hear feedback/advice on how to improve the build or recommended feats.

Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, can someone help me understand the use of Piranha Strike? My brain must not be firing on all cylinders right now. Power Attack is usable with light weapons (unlike in 3.5) and Piranha Strike cannot be used in conjunction with it.

It's in the requirements.

Power Attack requires Strength 13 and works with a wide range of weapons. Piranha Strike swaps the Strength requirement for the feat requirement of Weapon Finesse -- which a character would need if Piranha Strike was going to be valuable at all anyway.

So a knife fighter with 8 STR and high dex (for example) can still pick up Piranha Strike for more damage.

Better earlier, no multiclassing, but no form of the dragon goodness.

Actually, druid was the first thing I suggested after hearing his character concept, but Kierato nailed it on the first try - he doesn't want to miss out on dragon-shaping. That's a really solid build idea, as well.

Thanks!

I'm about to start my first Pathfinder game, after coming from a long 3.5 background. I've got most of my usual gaming crew and one person that's reasonably new.

Let's just say that his taste in characters is... unusual and leave it at that. This game is no exception.

He asked me for some help in putting together a Transmutation Specialist Wizard that specialized in the "XXXX Shape" line of spells. Not exactly optimal, as I pointed out, but he generally has some fun with his unusual characters.

I'm kind of stumped as to even how to go about helping him with it. He's mainly looking to change shape and help fight/scout/whatever once he gets to the right levels and buff the party the rest of the time.

For reference, it's a 25-point buy, with anything from the Core and APG legal.

This may be an unusual post, but there is no problem anymore. I want to say a big thanks to Paizo company and the whole team that provides customer support! After the post lost my order, Paizo made a complete replacement. The order was quite big, with a large number of hardcovers and pawns so it was pretty generous. Special thanks for how quickly I received the answer and the decision was made. It's very professional. I'm your client forever ;) Thank you very much!

Good day! I would like to know what is happening with my order. I ordered back in late September, but it is still not sent! I will soon have a long trip and I need my order before departure. Please clarify this issue as soon as possible. Thank you!

Need help in creating a solid character. This question is not about builds and feats, but only about the very nature and idea.

Introductory concepts:

1. Half-orc.
2. Paladin.
3. On some moment, the Abyss start to speak 'throw him'. It's a shock and horror for him and he is unable to full control it, only partially (so as not to do evil).

Technically it will be two levels of paladin and oracle after. Or alternately, we'll see. As oracle, he'll get an Outer Rifts Mystery (and it will exactly Abyss, yes). As oracle's curse he'll have the Tongues (with abyssal language certainly) and The Powerless Prophecy (with half-orc's sacred tattoo the idea will be that in these tattoos writings his future and his mission, but he is unable to decipher it; and they appeared that day when the Abyss 'opened' in him). Curses will be two because of archetype. Last but not least, his mind a bit shaken from it all, and his wisdom will be only 7 .))

That's the idea, now I want you to help me to enrich it with details. First of all, how does the unfortunate paladin will live with this event, as he became "the Oracle of the Abyss"? What will he do? How will this affect the codex? How he should behave in order to combine these two opposite vectors?

Please help me to come up with the backstory of the guy and his current. I like this dilemma, the drama of the character. And I want to develop this in something that will beautifully and intelligently fit into the world of Golarion.

Hello everyone! Question on Stealth and Darkness Blessing of Warpriest.

First part about mechanics:

1. Do I understand correctly that for one minute, while I have a blessing, I can go in Stealth, even being observed (because there is a concealment)?
2. Can I do this in the beginning of my turn (while being observed), combining stealth check with the movie action, and after doing the shot (on the same turn ) and get a bonus for a sneak attack?
3. If yes, can I do the same, but without movie action? I mean, what action it will be to go to stealth when I'm already in concealment)?
3. Can I go into Stealth while have this blessing, after I did an attack? And after made the move action and standard attack action on one turn?

Second part about combine this blessing with any good tactics, maybe with some feats, or maybe some sneaky tips - to do my fight strategy better.

Thanks everybody!
