Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Petrel is amazed to have another direct communication with his goddess. Of course since he always has the wide eyed, slightly crazed look of the thumbnail portrait, he appears his usual twitchy self. Not knowing or expecting two-way communication, Petrel will think about how he has the best (and as far as he is concerned, hottest) goddess. Rescue and share the magic lady, got it To Mukluk, he will share his (true) long term goal: "I'm bored. Non-magic books are boring. I'm going to see if Gambli harvest that bear meat for bear sausage." Petrel will, of course, stealth and hide out of sight (I recall lots of cleared rooms and the stalagmite caves, can't find a full map) and perceive when everyone goes back to base (take 10s etc easy). Then he will sneak to Idalla's room and let her know that the goddess Wee Jas has commended Petrel free the magic lady, and ask how that is done. Probably a cursed chair. Do I smash it or just pick her up off of it? Just don't touch the chair.
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Sure spending a long while in this room. Looting books is time consuming! "Sorrys lady, Wee Jas must want you to stay put if you are stuck heres by magic. Bye." On the way upstairs... "Hey Mukluk, are magic spellbooks immune to fire like magic weapons? Can we just burn the library and sift the ashes for loots?"
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Petrel, fueled by the earlier attention from Courana, doesn't notice the magical prisoner skipping over his name. Despite the disappointing dragon horde he was lost in rumination over a more important matter. "I've got it! Someone stole my bear carcass BEFORE Gambli could make my cloak!" Case CLOSED! Petrel then looks around, seeming to regain a sense of his surroundings.

Guessing it does not have reach due to the size? Round 5
Single knife no-sneak 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 261d4 ⇒ 4 Round 6 the other knife appears
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Round 2 Petrel will bolt east and long jump above the stones to the other side. Don't think about the water elf, don't think about the water elf... Acrobatics +11 vs DC 15 (15 foot jump) 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27 He easily sails across the gap and lands around N11.
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
What would a smart person do. Oh, Mukluk is throwing magic arrows! I'll throw my knives! Haven't double checked but I believe Petrel is at 5 basic throwing daggers after hurling them wildly when we fought the size changing deep dwarves thrown (normal) knife -2 range, 20% miss 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 8 - 2 = 231d4 ⇒ 31d100 ⇒ 3 Splash goes a knife. "These human eyes! I can't sees anything with them."
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Petrel will have pocketed some of the lichen and bugs, & though the later may make an escape perhaps some eggs will be left behind. Maybe I can be an underground farmer when I retire... "Should we go into the moldy room? Perhaps our fire elf can use magics to burn it out, like before."
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Petrel will take the advice of their Fire Elf and stand way back. Way, way back. He'll find as much cover as possible while still being able to see what is happening, and be ready to sprint for the river if a fog of deadly spores rolls out. This may be as cool as that explosion at the flour mill!
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
While waiting around with Mukluk, Petrel continues to think about the potential of animated furniture. "... what if you took that wooden training dummy we saw, and put stone and metal plates on it, like it was a solider for war? You could animate it and call it... WoodForged."
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Petrel is surprised Mobled would turn her back on a suddenly animated table, but laughs off her sudden rage at the compliment. "Oh! You've been imprisoned so long you probably don't recognize a compliment anymore. That is how people talk: As strong as an ox, as pretty as an elf, as smart as a dwarf, as nimble as a cat... Or as violent as an Orc." Duegar sure are touchy. They hate orcs more than dwarves and elves put together! "By the way a table is sneakings up on you."
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
"Lets check-sees the unexplored places." Petrel will go over to the door 'A' and check for traps. He'll listen at the door for noise inside, and quietly open the handle, unlocking first if necessary. Traps: Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

"Martigan, thank you for the healing magic! Feeling much better now." Petrel will pat a greasy hand on his shoulder. He also will tuck away the sapphire for safe keeping in one of the hidden pockets on his clothing before the group moves onto the next area. Sleight of hand 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 2 = 22

Petrel wheezes and tries to peel the rug off himself. Escape Artist 1d20 + 11 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 10 = 31 He'll 5-foot assuming he escapes. "Ugh.. it attacked me and not Mobled.. must see through my dwarf disguise." status: HP = 18 / 42 (-16 + 9) AC = 16 (17 vs light blades), CMD = 17 Fort = 5, Ref = 8, Will = 1 Condition: None

Round 1, init 17 O-M-G W-T-F R-U-G "Oof!" Petrel will try and wiggle out of the grapple. Escape Artist vs CMD 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 "It is a magic item! Command it in dwarvish!" status: HP = 25 / 42 AC = 16 (17 vs light blades), CMD = 17 Fort = 5, Ref = 8, Will = 1 Condition: None

Petrel will kick his boots on the door frame to shake out any dirt, and slightly shakes his head seeing Mobled stomp all over the well made rug. That will hurt resale value. Once there is some space and Petrel has looked around for obvious traps, he will check under the rug for keys or trapdoors. Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 "Moble, stop poking that chest with your meaty fists." Petrel will appraise the locked chest and see if it opens easily. Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 If needed he can take 20 and beat a Good DC 30 lock

"Mukluk, I know you must be thinking about all those magic books and spells you left behind with that nice lady. I want to give you a gift today, something to cheer you up. Here.. please take this platinum piece as a token of my esteem. I've been carrying it around forever, must have gotten it in our adventures."
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Petrel claps Mukluk on the shoulder. "We are in complete agreements then!" Magic is so confusing. Wonder if Doruk understood any of that. "Hey if she isn't going anywhere, we could come back any time we want. Maybe we can visit her when we are old and ready to retire." Petrel runs his hand through his hair. "I'll probably be a Guild-master in Greyhawk by then."
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
"Dunno if we should leave her in there. She seemed pretty magical, and you know Wee Jas wants me to collect magical things." "Also I think she needed help from Theldrat back in Greyhawk. Or maybe Rinalda? Who are we working for these days?" Petrel is a little confused by what just went on, and completely misses that Mukluk was being referred to as the boss. I figures it was magic and who can really understand that. Besides my buddy Mukluk, who has a brain as big as his beard.
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Petrel can be heard coughing amongst the dust and feathers. But while everyone is distracted he swipes the following with sleight of hand: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 old hairbrush
I'll have Mukluk detect for the magics on these later... once we're out of sight of the henchmen. "Yes Mukluk! We have much to discuss! And spells to cast, bears to skin, elk burger to eat. Good bye lady!" As he leaves Petrel will tug down his fake dwarven beard, revealing he is actually a human if the person was confused on the point, and give her a wink. Wonder what her problem is...
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
"Oh.. no wizard?" Petrel will look around, taking care to check for lurkers (above & below), stun jelly, spore of any kind on the bed linens, monsters under the bed, feral closet gnomes, ear seekers, and footprints in the dust indicating invisible attackers. Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Certain it is safe, but still concerned about allergies, he cover his nose with one hand and quickdraw throw a normal knife into the bed, at the pillow if one exists. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 141d4 + 2d8 ⇒ (3) + (5, 3) = 11 "Mukluk, want to check for magic in here?" Petrel will step in and search the furniture. He'll drag the nightstand over to the dresser to look for anything hidden on top of it for good measure.
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Mukluk said: "You guys stay here...I still don't like this one bit. If she gets me, come and get me back. Petrel, as you're the best of this bunch, you're in charge if something happens to me." Petrel thought, Glad he informed Mobled that I'm co-in-charge here. Though maybe he should have said it in dwarvish, I don't think she speaks common well. As far as Petrel is concerned this is just another pretty captive to be rescued, since he doesn't know about the telepathy, detect magic results, or fears people may be harboring.
Male Human Rogue 4: Knife Master, Sanctified Rogue
Petrel actually would be standing the whole time The rogue will pet her shoulder. "Oh you're real!" "So do you want to leave with us? I can escort you back to our camp, where we have kittens and elk sausages. Also do you know how to turn a bearskin into a rug or cloak?" He'll take a look around for traps, including the other door then answer Mukluk.
"Sure Mukluk.. just a second." The brave rogue will hold his finger to his lips indicating a need for silence, then slowly open the door to the dwarven wizard's study, ready to use his spring loaded bracers to quickdraw and shank any threat in the next room or this one.
