"Busy!" Indy calls through his communicator as he swoops down towards the bomb just before it explodes, but he isn't able to catch it in time and the explosion roils over the scaffolding. He props up a magical barrier to protect most of the people but it flickers and quickly fizzles.

He's injects himself into the mix and spreads his wings and body wide to cover anyone that may be potentially be crushed under the falling debris.

Indarius looks around himself to reassess after the bomb, though undamaged he does see the other two and the thief flitting off.

Then Andromeda burst through the roof and went after them, "Keep the thief in your sight Andromeda, I'm dealing with some bombs."

With a telekinetic pull he yoinks one back to himself and crushes it in his claws after returning to his true form once more. "One left."

Sort of a clean up for my previous post so it's less of a jumble of this never happened to pick theough, given new understanding of what went on. Rolled a 1 on the red herring(move for the turn) spent a burn to ignore condition.

Indy's eyes track the first thing and then the second, a third! He isn't sure which to go after first but his body reacts before his mind catches up fully leaping at one.

It explodes in his face but the draconic mage seems relatively unphased as the conflagaration rolls off his scales. He looks around for the bombs and the fleeing thief, snorting angrily and wonders how the rest of the team is so hard pressed that four of them can't deal with one alien.

Wield powers: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 6) + 3 = 10
neutralize a threat for now, create something useful out of the environment.

For one used to temporal alteration such as Chroknight, for who all Indy knew might automatically register any chonological anomalies in the immediate area, Indy's sudden blip through time would be less than odd. Everything slowed to a crawl including the explosion allowing him to get out of the way, using a simple telekinetic spell to pull the remaining two bombs together. Then taking a section of the gravel off of the rooftop and using his magic to shape it into a box just big enough for the twin bombs and suspending it in the air above the current fight.

He assumed his position interposing himself where the thief meant to flee. Taking a few probably too egotistic moments to brush himself off and preen before rearing up to look as magnificent and terrifying as possible. Then his extremely compressed timeline began to unfurl as things began to pick up pace around him once more.

"Pop quizes only work on those who aren't prepared, and you are a poor tutor indeed."

"Oh heck no you don't," Chroknight says as they slow time down enough to take advantage of a gap in the net, passing through harmlessly right ahead of Indarius. Who then tore through it, making them feel a little foolish.

"He left by the northeast, Indarius, I need some flight power to catch up!" Chroknight tells him as they jump to latch onto his ankles - the best position to prepare to drop on the thief.

Though the sudden expletives coming from an angry Andromeda through Indarius' comm gave them pause enough to think deeply on their course.

"...Not to suddenly second guess here, but I did spend five minutes over the last couple of seconds mulling things over in my head. You sure Statian and the rest don't need us?" They ask Indarius. "Sounds like they need backup."

During the leap through the air, Indarius grumbles, "Make up your mind fast. Help me or them, but whatever you do stick to it."

Caught in an electro-net!: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4) + 3 = 13
Can't cage lightning

Indarius whirls and winds through the system upwards landing on the roof once more, he glanced around to ensure the safety of their ally Xeno, realizing the shreds of electro net during his inspection which were providing a pleasing electric stimulation to the wingtips in which it had been caught on.

His sharp eyes spot the one they assume is the thief, honestly if anyone other than Xeno was up here that'd make them prime suspect number one. "Chroknight see if you can't sus out which device is the stolen one while I deal with them."

Indarius utilizes some more of his shapeshifting as a dragon would both trample and ruin the rooftops as well as present a much larger target. So his form twists quickly as he lunges into a striding gait, into that of a large wolf-like creature having scales and patches of thick fur in place of a full coat, barbed protrusions jut at his joints, but the slim form allows Indarius to quickly run and traverse the distance even atop the convention roof. Nearing the target he leapt at the thief, using his weight to shove them down while going over top and landing to face back the way the pair had come.

"I'd take that medical tech back if I were you. If it's for someone you care about there's better ways to go about this."

"No. But that's the job. You can't sweat faulty equipment or a spear in the ribs when you're the only one who can stand up to the monsters, murderers, and general bastards," Chroknight says as they do a systems check. It was not good - maintenance really needed to be done, but so long as they didn't overexert themselves, it should hold up for the moment.

"I mean, that's why we're doing this instead of exploiting our gifts, right? I could get a winning lottery ticket and set my family up for life. You could do something similar with your powers. But we're not doing this for ourselves. We're doing it for the ones who need equity and protection."

They finish their check, before taking Indarius' arm in their hand. "Anyways, thief or Vorp'l, where do you think I'm needed most?" They ask him.

With a ponderous nod Indarius swings his head to look at the area, "Good to hear a little malfunction won't keep you down."

"You'll find the thief much easier than I right now since you've seen them. Vorp'l should be handled between Andromeda and Diva, Statian is leading that part of the team as well. So we can handle this other bit, make sure the device doesn't get taken." I'll be right behind you when you find the thief, to make sure no civilians get in the way.

Feels like some pretty honest feedback, and probably a good sign that Chro is willing to listen to Indy's thoughts on where they should go, so I'd call that opening. Not sure if I'm in a spot to do a move against the thief quite yet. But I can prep.

Chroknight looked less than please by Indarius coming in practically gloating at them while pulling them free of their bonds. "Yeah, CORVIS can track him. They have electric powers, or maybe that's their tech. My armor's damaged and not working right. I'll be fine, I just need some tech help later."

They stand up stretching out. "So did we find the alien tech yet, because that really should be our priority."

"The device itself is not found yet, but we have found the dealer and the others have her surrounded. Now to assure we get it and deactivate it safely or at least contain it so it cannot be used until we can."

He leans down to be 'more' eye level with Chroknight. "Are you sure you're well to keep going with your armor malfunctioning?" His voice sounds with genuine concern for Chro's safety, despite his altered speech patterns.

Indarius smiles smugly as everyone begins to flee, though he can't help but feel a bit awful using his demanding presence like this. He cranes his neck down when Statian gives him orders to see to Chroknight and a teeny tiny part of him wants to get furious and say 'How dare you' But with V'orpl's influence fading away those thoughts are quickly shunted off as well as he regains his own right mind.

"Right Chroknight, tell them I'm on my way. Hopefully I can coral the civilians out on my way."

He turns and steps over Statian, his body easily clearing her, but his tail slithering around her dangerously for a few moments before the tip clears her legs without incident. As he lumbers back towards the Medical Expo section of the convention hall.

He quickly works out where Chroknight is practically stapled to the floor and reaches towards them with a pointed claw.

"What have we here, found yourselves the victim of solo adventures in a new place hmm. Don't struggle I'll have these binds off you."

His talons make quick work of the binding piece of technology keeping Chroknight pinned sheering the metal as if it were little than paper to be torn asunder, "Where is your 'thief'? Time stealer?" He asks lapsing into his persona of a grand creature of magic for a moment.

Purpose: capture or otherwise disable the cryodevice.
Leader: Statian as far as Indy's aware she's taken lead on this and he trusts her.

While Indy can't pinpoint the Nuvoan that they are after. The stange behavior of the people at the convention attempting to get at his allies causes him to give a harump and hover in the air with Statian, though he has to pull her up into a bridal carry so it's more comfortable for both of them.

"Listen, we don't want to hurt you, and I'm sure you don't really wanna hurt the innocent people here. Humans don't really get a choice in what powers they happen to pick up in our lifetimes. You should be smart enough to realize that we haven't followed the same evolutionary path as your kind and shouldn't be held to the same standards either. Saying that women having telekinetic prowess is against the natural order is both kinda sexist as well as a smidge on the eugenisist side which isn't generally looked well upon by most parts of the world. Certainly not this one. So stand down, hand over your Cyro-thing, and turn yourself in to the authorities for dealing illegal armaments within Earth's sphere of influence. It'll go a lot better for you if you jist cooperate."

He tightens all of his eyelids in an attempt to shake off the pain behind his eyes. "Xeno I don't think I can shield against this level of mental attack, any advice?" Sam speak for teleporation is amazing and when we find her, here is where all the team is being tracked, so getting everyone back together quickly would be great. :)

The mental impacts seem diminished, either by a lack of proximity to Eliana, or the degradation of intoxicants in my system. Much of my movement is buttressed by my telekinesis though, so the full extent is somewhat unclear; I am ready to go back to normal and not feel strange, even though I think my skin looks... pretty."

Quickly she adds, "Even within a social environment where my skin was expected to be commented on, however, this did not seem to be a broadly held opinion, so it may also be one of the mental impacts."

Indy nods along with that, "I can try siphoning the residual magic out of you later, if you want. Shouldn't be too hard Tim's potions were very tame. Had to give it a boost to even get an effect out of mine. But yeah not being judged by my appearance the other night was cool... awesome even. And it is an.. odd but surprisingly good look."

He doesn't know if it'd be good to actually comment on Eliana's potential ability to mitigate inhibitions since even he wasn't fully aware of what she could be capable of.

You should have done that before engaging a dangerous target. Putting yourself in danger when you weren't ready didn't help; it just got you hurt. Andromeda waits for Indarius to wake back up, but she's pretty sure she's missed him at least once. She doesn't like staying quietly in one place if she can help it. All the monitoring equipment and beeps and white lab coats don't make her any calmer either. And being agitated around so much sensitive equipment and vulnerable people is dangerous, which agitates her.

She takes a lot of breaks.

But finally he wakes up before she can lose her mind again.

"That was stupid," she greets him with slightly relieved tension. "You shouldn't have come to fight while you were still in the middle of uncontrolled emesis, it's stupid. You shouldn't have tried to get a tree with power similar to mine to hit you; you have a glass jaw and it's stupid. You should have listened to me about the sun, or if your transmutation abilities work on a similar wavelength to Tim's, then you should have told us that and done that instead of getting choked out by a tree, which was stupid. If you haven't squashed your beef with Eliana, showing her that a tree can choke you out that easily is even stupider."

Indarius having just come out of everything looks at Andromeda looking quite languid for now, though the anesthesia was quickly running it's final course. On the bed he flickered from happy that someone came to check on him, to annoyed that he was getting a lecture.

It took him a while to get his throat to work enough to actually speak which accounted for several false starts before it was finally cleared enough to be heard.

"What kind of hero would I be if I didn't try to help in whatever way I could? Just because you aren't at one-hundred percent doesn't mean you get to slack off. Stop using complex words like emphasis. I had to get Tim's potion done with early." He narrowed his true eyelids at her, "Your still green by the way. You do not want drunk me casting any spells, and are lucky that I had the brain still to not. Could have created an illusion of the sun, could have created a micro-sun and killed half of Halcyon, could have opened up a portal to the surface of the sun. My magic is powerful so I couldn't rely on it then. Besides better that it attacked me than someone squishy like Gui, Sam, or Eliana. Besides I feel great now, good as new even."

He wanted to thank her for her weird way of showing what he thought was concern but offered a laying shrug instead and looked her in the eyes in a moment of surprising clarity. "I gotta ask, if you think it's all so stupid why are you doing it? Why be a hero if everyone who does the same is stupid for it?"

Indy's hand shifts slightly on the bed looking like he was gonna reach for Andromeda before second guessing that she'd hate that especially unprompted.

As Indy is lead at least partially by Sam he ditches the mostly empty beer can as they leave Archie's room in a hurry. Possibly provoking some raised eyebrows, but he can't be bothered to mind and his head is swimming a bit.

His natural attunement to the local aether caused his scales, now with bits of fur growing between them thanks to the potion, to prickle as they got closer to the source of weirdness. In his current state they practically rattled very softly in the way one of those scaled bags would, which might be unnerving for anyone who hasn't heard it before.

When he spots Eliana, and Andrometree he moves to protest. "Well, if I didn't shay I told you so. El, don't do this. Taking away her free choice is just as bad as -urk-" OhIshouldntvehadthatlastdrink He thinks to himself as his vision gets all screwy thanks to Chroknight's stunt.

He forces himself to look away or be sick which takes a lot of the potential bite out of what he was saying. His gut rolls a bit as the potion he ingested works the last vestiges of it's magic on him. Belching and tipping over to retch his stomach contents into the nearest shrub despite his former attempts at protest. The butterfly wings and curled pixie tail of Indy quickly return to their leathery membranous state. Indy himself is left hacking a half-frozen glob of alcohol and significantly reduced in potency glowing puddle.

Potion effects wearing off in a offputting manner for him, but self removal for the initial panel basically.

She inclines her head to the window he was moving toward before she sobered, hitting the shoulder of a person passing by with her antlers. "I have noticed the spatial requirements of these protrusions are ease to lose track of." she agrees with him.

Indy made his way to the window turning to lean towards it and breath the fresher air while still being able to properly address Sam. "You don't have to stay just cause I suggested it. I just thought we were all having a good time so far and. I guess I know how it is when things like that don't happen enough." He looks around at the milling bodies and conversations. "Glad my horns don't stick out to the side too much, got that nice swoop thankfully."

Taking another drink he grimmaces less than he had, maybe the taste was growing on him quickly. "You know it's weird ever since I went full dragon I feel like something's been missing. But I-" He's interrupted by whatever commotion happened outside causing him to bolt for a moment before languidly looking out into the night. "What the- heck was that?"

And Indy blaming himself no matter how much he tried to distance himself from this.

But she will not say that. (or did she in a way)

Instead, she let go of his hand.

That weight settles in, banishing all desire to continue to collect data. A single blinding synapsis travels across her brain to trigger the interface in her nanites initiating a chemical readjustment, a purge

Her intoxication and contact high dissipates making her threads go as still as her face. "Good night, Indarius"

Indy's momentum is stopped by the tugging red head so he stops and looks back at her. Being excessively careful to not yoink her around. "You all are..." he pulling on Sams hand in return so she can't quite leave herself. "Difficult, but you'll do better each time. Leader or not I have to hope that you'll all do better. I think, I think that's how it's done. And just because I'm not going to be at the front of the team doesn't mean I'm not there. I just can't do leadership right now." His unnaturally glacial blue irises contract as he focuses on Samantha.

"There's so much going on and, I think this is how I do better. For now at least, so please don't go, stick around, let's relax for once. Heck give it a few hours once the faerie dragon stuff wears off. And you'll probably be able to convince me to give people a skyline tour with those doe-eyes."

Indy is off-guard at Sam reaching for more beverages and takes the one she offers him even clinking it with her.

"Oh.. ominous. I do need air though, gonna head over to the window. To uh... all that?"

Unsure if the wiggling threads were a signal that Sam wanted to dance, or even more with him, his swimming head told him fresh air would be good. So he shuffled over and got to the nearest open window for a few moments.

Indy winced as he finished shotgunning the beer giving a frosty belch as he did so. Shaking his head he made the decision that Mauler's light was not as crazy good as people tended to speak it up. And he searched for something with a different flavor, unintentionally following Gwen's decision of a peach White Talon but not daring to open it quite yet.

He made the decision that he wasn't quite ready to confront the rest of the team about last night quite yet as Gui had allowed him to earlier, so he moved to mingle with some of the others in the room. Namely Archie's roommates. "Hey guys, thanks for the invite and drinks. Gonna make Daedalus a cool memory for everyone huh?" He lowers his voice a bit which causes the serpentine rumbling to be more prominent.

Indarius is a bit late to the party himself behind Gui, and even Johnny's arrival, but upon seeing him up and about he's happy like the others.

"What's this I hear about a bad move?" He offers a smile at Johnny before shuffling his way into the room as well. "Hey even Shard can't keep the good ones down. Thanks for the save, had us all worried."

He notes the alcohol and how Archie and a large majority of the people here are likely not of age to partake in such activities. But with a shrug of his shoulders and the resultant flexing of wing muscles he ignores it and heads over to the fridge to grab a pair himself. Careful not to pierce the 'soft' aluminum can yet.

"Cheers for the invite Archie."

He raised one of the beers, prods it with a claw and proceeds to shotgun it, in the hopes of lightening his own mood as well as others.

Indy's stride tenses and loosens as he listens to Guillaume, some arrogant part of him wanting, needing to tell him to shut up. The more rational part of him knew that'd be the wrong call and he'd had plenty of that in the past weeks. So he let him continue. Finally after it seems there is no more to be said he answers with a flat tone.

"No."

The single word hangs in the air between them for a long time, to the point where it seemed that was Indy simply ending the conversation by shutting out everything that had been said. But he eventually draws in another breath and slowly exhales, his body very gently losing tension.

"You don't need to say that corny line. I don't know what to do about Drake right now. I'm not sure I'm ready or if the team will even be able to help really. The last time 'I' barely managed to scratch him and get away with it. And I was riding the high of becoming 'me' at the time. Not to mention steeped in enough aether to make Mathers senior look like a mewling kitten at the time of his ritual."

There is another pause as Indy seems to consider his next words carefully with a few false starts. "I'm.. scared Gui. That I won't be able to do it, that if he were to come here reclaim his full power and outright attack that I nor all of the heroes in Halcyon would be enough to drive him back again. Being the team lead hasn't been good for me either, you're right I didn't really want it, but that's what happens when you've got the most experience I guess. I thought I could do it, be even better than Horizon was, but I feel like I've just been letting everyone down since day one."

When you share a vulnerability or weakness with someone, ask them if they think you’re losing or gaining humanity. If they say losing, mark a condition and mark potential. If they say gaining, clear a condition and shift Mundane up and any other Label down.

He looks wearily across the campus, "I wanna get everyone on my side, but Andromeda won't open up enough to even let me know what it is she wants. Like you said Sam is intelligent, but awful with reading people I'd like to help her, but I get the feeling it'd be similar to how it was with Conflux. Headstrong in that way that your plan won't ever match her own, so no use trying to pitch it. For all that Chro hasn't been around they've not caused as much disruption as I feared they would. Archie's hard to get a proper read on for sure though."

The telling signs that something occured to him passes over Indy's reptilian features for a moment but he looks unsure weather to share it with Gui.

Archie gave me hell the first few engagements, but has been surprisingly receptive since then so I can't figure him out."

Indy's tail swings and slaps the ground as the list grows. "I can't figure out who's side you're on because you'll sometimes play both ends trying to keep everyone happy. Dee's got her own things to worry about and I don't know if we're helping or making it harder. Who only knows where Digits and Empyrean have been up to. It's been like herding a bunch of cats who don't want to listen. Even when you try and tell them that the staff at your school work for a blood and money thirsty ancient dragon who's got a track record for stealing away people with useful powers and turning them into products to sell to the highest bidder while plotting to get the whole world wrapped up in a war so he can be the richest warlord in the batch and rule over them. He turns to glare at Gui, "One, not your boss. Two, let's walk and talk."

Giving a goodbye wave to Chitin he starts down the hallway.

Chitin listens attentively when Indy explains the Eliana situation. "So... I can see why she thinks you dropped the ball, but that sounds like a lot, dude. Are you--"

"This just in! Party at 9! The palatial estate of Ryan and Archie's dorm room!" interrupts one of Archie's dupes.

Chitin watches the duplicate go on to invite Carlos as well, then continue on his mission to find more students to invite to the party. "As I was saying... Ah, I forgot. Anyway, maybe you could apologize? I don't know girls very well, so I don't know if that'll help or make things worse."

Indy had been so focused on Chitin that when the Dupechie pops up with it's announcement he snarls slightly then retracts and covers his face in embarrassment. He watches the dupe walk off afterwards and frowns.

"I don't even know what I'd apologize for at this point. 'Hey, sorry I got caught up trying to stop a megacorporation's plot to make a supervillain team, a court case against the man that kidnapped me, coming to terms with killing one of your friends in the fantasy world, my studies of trying to separate a devil and human soul, crafting a brand new spell to make someone an elf with my partner who up and left. Learning how to be a dragon, the crumbling of my old team and sequential leading of a new team which I'm no longer doing, and also trying to figure out how to stop a megalomaniacal Red Wrym from embroiling Halcyon in a war.' Like what do I say? I've been... busy to stop and give you regular updates and oh boy your an elf now and hate my guts out of the blue, cool I guess." He laughs nervously, before his shoulders and wings slacken to drag on the floor.

Chitin grunts. "I think they're public use. Like a communal bath kind of thing, like the Romans. Except, you know, a natural pool. Or unnatural. You'll probably have to shower at some point, unless dragons don't have to? They're saying the water lines won't get fixed for a few weeks since they're going to reinforce them."

He pauses for a moment, then venture, "Because of what? Why does Eliana hate you? If I can ask."

There is a bit of a pause before Indy realizes something. "Oh right yeah, actually I just took one manifested my own water, magic. Didn't even cross my mind that'd probably be bad for the still broken pipes."

He cringes at that, but isn't too distraught over Manticorp folks having a slightly harder time because of a flub.

"As for Eliana, it's complicated. So a few months back when there were all the vikings and orcs and weird fantasy things popping in and out of town. Yeah that was one of the Mathers' pocket realm slipping into our reality. I got sucked in, and was supposed to be one of the big bads, but retained enough of me to make my own decisions. Eliana thinks I betrayed the party and went against my word, I didn't and actually they betrayed me. Killed me sort of, it sucked, very long story short. I was reborn as a sort of revenant with way less control and went full on psycho killer against the group. She thinks I gave up trying to stabilize the fantasy realm."

He shakes his head, "We, First Class, tried. But it was evacuate or people were gonna die. And I told Eliana we could help her be... well more her here in our world and didn't let her stay, because otherwise she would have ya know died. Things went sideways with the team, Conflux and I never got around to doing the ritual. I guess she turned to the Fae to get her bargain and now what she hates me for is being an oath breaker. Which is some class A BS. Because creating a polymorphic spell from scratch to make someone an elf is a little hard when you're being pulled in twelve directions."

"Hey. It's going," Chitin responds. "Sure. Speaking of no concrete, I think we're going to check out the new bathing area the magic plant girl created. Word is, she just chanted a lot and these pools of water sprang out of the ground, then got surrounded by all these plants for privacy!"

Indy looks off, "Oh yeah Eliana. Mmm she probably wouldn't want me to go. Already on edge cause of."

He pauses as two maintenance staff pass by joining the others down the hall, turning his head in a vain attempt to avoid notice. "Well a lot of stuff, and she hates my guts. And asking would probably be some kind of favor, same with an invitation, and depending on how fey she is that would mean pay back in spades..."

Calm hoping for no storm

Indarius finished up his day at the gym and grabbed his phone from his bag again taking off and around the school the worry of Manticorp being so close causing his scales to crawl and bristle. Turning around a corner to avoid walking into one of the repair crews working on some of the internal pipes he nearly runs into Chitin.

"Oh.. hey Chitin, how's it going." He runs a hand through his quills for a moment trying to calm himself down.

"Hey you and the other hybrids wouldn't wanna hang out tomorrow after class would you? I think our combat stuff is still canceled and I could use a break from all the concrete."

Indarius gets a text message from Chroknight:

Chroknight: Moth Clan is contained for now. Let me know if you need anything, I'm going to be keeping my eyes and ears out on the city.
Chroknight: Also, do you think the team could use some battle practices together and if the school allows for the use if time slots in their training area?

It takes quite a while before Indy finally texts back

Indy: Dunno, ask your new team lead. I've got my own important stuff to worry about.

He tosses his phone into his bag and then heads to the showers, on edge after discovering that Manticorp was at work here at Daedelus. Throwing his guard up immediately would probably be a bad idea, but being weary wasn't too bad.

He wasn't about to drag the others into it, they'd just as likely get in the way or in Andromeda's case tear down the entire city around her, or continue to ignore him. At this point it was impossible to tell which was the worst case scenario.

He dozed off a bit going through things in his head under the hot water of the shower, only warm by the time it actually hit him. Trying to think of how exactly Drake would be able to exploit the school and all the supers inside it to his own advantage.

After the horrendous night that was the bowling event Indarius made to separate himself from the team for a while. He spent more time with the other bestial schoolmates assuming they weren't still freaked out from the incident with Shard. And spent his free time utilizing the schools facilities for strength training. Physical combat had still been a sorely lacking place for him even after his changes granting him some natural advantages so he started lifting in the super strength tuned gym.
