Pendrix stares pointedly at his alcohol, but keeps a sharp ear out.
I'm okay with whichever the group decides. Personally, I always prefer to wait, since we started this adventure with Sesi, I'd like to finish it with Sesi. That said, I'm okay with continuing on until Adam can get back in too. /abstain
"Something not-so-hard this time. I need to relax, but not that badly. Mead or wine, maybe?"
Pendrix lets out a sigh of relief, thankful it went as well as it did.
Pendrix draws his dagger, and drops into a defensive stance.
Pendrix tries to move stealthily, ahead of the group, but still well behind Sesi. He's a little nervous about people going off alone. 'Alone is when the fear comes...'
Pendrix shivers at Sesi's tale.
"I accidently swallowed the soul of a dying child." Pendrix mumbles.
Pendrix snorted, as he laughed while taking a drink. He choked a little.
"A drink would be great. Anything readily available."
Pendrix chuckles nervously at Karst humor. He follows the group at a distance, constantly looking over his shoulder. He is obviously shaken up.
Pendrix, mouth agape, looks aghast at the sight before him. "This...this....is...ATROCIOUS! How could someone, anyone do a thing like this? Necromancy is afoot, if those skeletons are any indication." He turned to Sesi. "You don't think those skeletons...was one Ezakien, maybe?"
Pendrix looks crestfallen. "I see. That does make sense. Still, everything worked out alright, I suppose."
Pendrix is visibly shaken. "My magic didn't work....why didn't my magic work?"
Pendrix swears under his breath, unsure of how to proceed. He grips his knife, and stays where his is, watching, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
Pendrix, eyes wide, begins murmuring a spell. Purple energy surrounds his hands, and he shoots it out toward the skeleton. The beam strikes the skeleton, and has no effect.
Pendrix moves behind Sesi. He casts a quick spell on her, patting her on the shoulder after.
Pendrix, eyes wide, surveyed the battlefield. He quickly scanned the group, looking for weaknesses in their defense.
Is Hemlock armored? I plan on hitting someone with a Mage Armor, but don't know who is unarmored at the moment. I know Karst is usually armored, but what about everyone else?
Pnedrix's eyes grew wide. "AAAAAAHHHHHH!"
Pendrix was staring at his companions. Something clicked in his mind, and his eyes lit up. He reached into his cloak and pulled out his loaned dagger. He stands ready, with his knife drawn, looking more like a chef than a combatant. "Let's do this!" Under his breath he added,"I still owe you for the knife...we'll settle up after this."
Maps are always nice, but only if it isn't too much trouble.
"Yes, just over there!" He points over to where Lia is pointing as well. "What kind of footprints are those?"
Pendrix mutters to himself, waving his hands around like a crazy person. His dark eyes glow bright gold for just a second, and then the air in front of him shimmers. He smiles, as the shimmer fades. "Alright, now I am aready."
"Absolutely. Even more so after yesterday's...excitement. Glad to help." Pendrix looks confident, and had a big smile upon his face.
Pendrix nods. "I'm in. I'll be back in ten." True to his word, Pendrix is back soon, having changed into a midnight blue robe, and with a backpack slug over one shoulder.
Pendrix sits up at attention. His obvious man-crush on the sheriff is visible in his eyes.
"I actually have the day off too. Would you non-locals like a tour?"
Pendrix shuddered. "I'm not sure what it was. It scared me though, pretty terribly."
"Actually, I did ask if you wanted me to hold your cup for you, Sesi. You gave me a look that will take weeks to shake off." He shivered at the memory.
Pendrix just stared at the exchange between the two. He blinked.
"Oh...um...sorry." He whispers apologetically. "Can I get you some bread?"
Pendrix came stumbling in from outside. He had changed his clothes, though judging from how rumpled they were, he'd probably slept in these. Rubbing his eyes, he came over and took a seat next to Sesi. His eyes scanned the room, until they eventually settled on Sesi. "Oh!" He gasped,"I didn't see you there on the bench!" He seemed to have genuinely not seen Sesi, if the startled look on his face was any indication.
Pendrix is open to whatever you folks would like to do. Personally, I'd like to cu to the next day, but that's just me.
"On behalf of the city," he looks sideways at the mayor,"Not that the mayor hasn't already, but I think I can speak for the city when I say we would be honored to have you here!" He grins widely at the mayor.
Pendrix blushed, his dark cheecks darkening further still "We were just in the right place at the right time."
"I guess I'll have one of each of those, then!" Pendrix grinned widely.
"I'll have...uh...one of...um...whatever they have?" Pendrix shrugs, and points back to his group. It was apparent he hadn't thought this through.
Pendrix looks oblivious to the nervous interaction. "So...to the Dragon?"
So far, so good!
Pendrix just kept on grinning.
Pendrix smiled. A pleasure to meet you, formally. I knew your father. He and I met several years ago. I appreciate all you do for our fair city." He tried not to grin like an idiot.
Pendrix looks worried. "I'm truly grateful that we were able to help...and I am happy it went as well as it did. But goblins are so small, I can't help but wonder if maybe a few are still in town...
