Thanks. You said "get card upgrades from the cards of your particular adventure packs". I'm still not really sure what this means.
I have Core + CotCT only.

If I am understanding it, if you play in OP, you have to build a whole character from some pre-selected list of cards, and you can only ever have those cards in your deck - i.e. you can't keep things you find from an actual game.

As for the adventures designed for OP - do you know where I can get these?

Thanks both!

I'm definitely interested in doing this, but I'm first going to focus on getting updated versions of all the characters into the game, including all the FAQs and errata that have been applied to them.

Well, let me know. I'm happy to help and have the relevant photoshop skills to be able to do new card images to put into the mod

Does anyone have a complete deck list of everything from Core Set and CotCT?
The ones on the Paizo site only have the character cards, items, spells, etc.

It appears I am missing a Story Bane and not sure what else I might be missing.

Thanks!

Adventure packs are packs constructed from the Core+Curse cards that mimic the character / class decks. You can find their description:

ok, great. Starting to get it now.

So, just to clarify. Instead of building a character from ALL the cards, you choose 3 Adventure Packs at character creation. These give you a pool of cards forever, and you are only able to build your character from these cards.

So, when starting, you have 3 packs and a total of 48 level 0 cards. You use these to build your character?

I'm not 100% sure how levelling up works. I guess instead of picking up items and equipment during a game based on what you find, you need to select cards from your adventurers packs instead?

This is awesome. Is there any chance the cards could be updated with the errata? I would be happy to help out with this using photoshop. I sent you an email

You pick a character and any three Adventure Packs (these are new cards), and you're good to go. So purchasing "old" cards is no longer necessary.

All character sheets are freely available to download.

Thanks. Sorry for being dumb but where are these Adventure packs?

Thanks all.
It seems that the Class decks are actually from the older version of the game, which I thought was only semi-compatible.

Seems odd that if I wanted to play OP and only own the new set, I have to go and buy the old product.

Hi all,

I got the new Core set when it came out, along with CotCT. I've played it a few times (and also done some videos of it on my YT channel (gamingrulesvideos).

Anyway, it's been a long time since I've played and have been wanting to find time to get back into it and I found out tonight that there is an official TTS mod.

So I loaded it up and started reading the how-to guide and have to admit, I got a bit lost.

Can someone help me understand what are Class decks, Adventure decks, Ultimate Add-Ons?

I found a PACS guide which had a section in it saying "To build a character, you’ll need a Class Deck. A Class Deck is an accessory for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game that contains 3 or 4 characters to choose from, plus the cards you’ll use to play one of those characters for an entire campaign."

I don't have any of these. Is this specifically for organised play and I can just go ahead and ignore it if I want to just play the game with friends.
But even then, I'd sort of like to understand what it is.
What if I did want to play properly. How do these Class decks work - what are they physically?

Thanks all!

Ahhhh, so if I rolled two 1's, which I did, I can only use the power once to re-roll ONE of those dice?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Thanks, got the font, fiddled about. Set the width to 92%, and its a perfect match :)

Yeah, I get that, but it's the little things. Like the Troubador is a Halfling, not a Human, so I want to photoshop the card so that it says Halfling. Currently, I've crossed it out and written Halfling on with a sharpie, but it's not ideal.
Some other changes were a bit harder to make, and I know that it isn't game breaking, but I don't want to have to keep referring to the faq. And I will be playing the game with others, and I want them to have correct cards.

Knowing what the fonts are would be good. I found an old thread with what they were in the old game. I think Dax is still in use, but not sure about the main font for card text.

I also found it surprising that no reprint is planned, and I wonder if this was meant literally. It is very common in boardgame publishing to do a reprint of a game after the initial print run. In fact, it can be good to keep the initial "low" so that all the errors can be fixed in future prints.

But I don't know how many printed, or how many have sold. If they printed 100k and have only sold 1k, then yeah, maybe there will never be a reprint.

Either way, I still really want to have "fixed" cards somehow - and I'm happy to create these myself and print them off myself, but I was hoping there would be a way to do it without having to go through the manual process of scanning in the cards and fixing them manually myself.

ok, thanks. In which case, if I ask nicely, is there any chance I can get the original jpg images to save scanning in the cards. I know this is something not normally done, but I work full-time in the games industry, so its 'safe'.

Can you drop me a private message on here, or contact me through my website www.gaming-rules.com. Thanks :)

There are currently no plans to reprint any products for this line. (Doesn't mean it can't happen—but it's not on the immediate horizon.)

So, the core set has a bit of errata. I've currently made notes on my card with a sharpie, but it isn't ideal. What I'd like to do is mess around with photoshop and actually incorporate the errata into the cards.

This would require:
1. Scanning in the card
2. Photoshopping the fixes

Now, before I do, I wanted to post here to ask if someone from Paizo can answer this - will these cards be fixed in a future print run? If so, is there any way I could get access to the images for the fixed cards so I can print them out and put them in sleeves. This will save me a day of photoshopping :)

Thanks :)

Cool. Thanks Keith, so I can use the "when this is the hour" ability twice, just only once per dice. got it.

So I was half right :)

So, I just did my first live solo playthrough of the game.
Opinions and feedback most welcome - especially on rules, strategy, and whether you want to see more.

Also, I had a rules question in the game about the blessing that allows you to discard a card to reroll a 1 or 2. Can I use this power more than once in a turn?

My addition to this:
I picked up Core Set & Curse at Gen Con.

I've sleeved all the cards with clear sleeves.

Then I noticed the issue, some are a definite brighter orange, some are a darker red.

I initially thought that it won't matter much until I started playing and when a Villain gets mixed into the other henchmen / proxy cards and it's easy to tell them apart, then it is an issue.

Should I contact customer service, or is this just one of those things?

Thanks for that. I got the bit where he was feeding his own pockets, but that's a million miles away from us fighting and defeating him in combat.
It would have made more sense to have just a load of Dire Wolves and the objective be to close all locations rather than fighting Silas.
Or, adjusting the text to say he turns on us and it then becomes a fight or something when he realises he wont get away with it.

Thanks for the reply Vic. Am I being really stupid here? Is this text somewhere in the story?

I might have missed the part where the party work out he is up to no good (how do they do this?), but it just seems very odd that we end up fighting and defeating him, and then in the text afterwards, there is no reference to this at all, he's just back as the boss of the caravan and blaming us. No mention about the fact that we just defeated him in combat.

Am I looking too much into this? I really wanted the story to fit with what was happening in the game.

I think I might be being a bit stupid, but please help me out.

Rumble Road, you are protecting the caravan. The caravan master is Silas Gribb - your boss.

But then... you get attacked by Dire Wolves, and the Villain is... Silas Gribb?
Who you have to find, lock down, and defeat?
And then when you do, you read the rest of the story and.. he is your boss again?

What am I missing here?

That’s some pretty bad inconsistency that would lead me to interpret the cards a different way.
