Otzali shouts a warning to the others as he sees the submerged threat. Knowing the beast is certainly fast enough to strike them from that distance the warrior decides to take the battle to it instead and buy his companions the space they need to defend themselves. Dont have my 2E book with me, can't remember if i can charge and attack in the surprise round? If Not: Move 10' forward to be in melee with the thing, maca at the ready. If So: charge 10' forward and miss it horribly!

Otzali looks at Al for a moment before nodding his agreement. "Better to kill them in battle than while they sleep, but since they have no honor they don't deserve death by combat....." While Ik'Skull tends to their companion's wounds the young jaguar moves down the pyramid to dispatch the sleeping orcs. "Now let's see what the ogre was doing."
M Maztican
Otzali growls in anger, a guttural almost feline-like sound from deep in the back of his throat. Tightening his grip on the maca he lashes out at the ogre again. This time his aim is truer and the weapon's obsidian teeth rake across the creature's flesh. Maca: 19 - 1d20 ⇒ 19 - (19) = 0

Seeing the creatures below fall prey to the foreigner's magics, Otzali turns back to the ogre with a grim look. And now for you... With practiced motions the warrior draws his bow and looses an arrow at the unaware beast. Shortbow attack: 1d20 ⇒ 14 hits AC6

Otazi creeps back and confirms Khalidas suspicions. "the orcs are on the second tier, the ogre above. Can't tell what he's doing but his four friends are trying to break in. " He gazes up the steep steps of the pyramid, wondering if it can be used to their advantage against the powerful beast.

Otzali motions for silence as he hears the sound of voices. "For an abandoned ruin there seem to be many people here." He looks to the two newcomers. "More friends of yours?" Can Otzali climb up 4 or 5 levels then start making his way around the pyramid to the other side? idea would be to do some recon from above to avoid notice but still be close enough to see/hear whats going on.

Animal Lore vs 15: 1d20 ⇒ 14 does Otzali (just barely) know anything about what would cause this unusual behaviour? Seeing the birds on the offensive, Otzali's warrior instincts kick in. In a single fluid motion he unshoulders a short bow, fits an arrow to the string, and releases at the circling vulture. Shortbow Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 15

DEX check vs 15: 1d20 ⇒ 12 Otzali also stares at the water in horror. We are their guides, we should have known....... Visibility shaken but determined to move forward the warrior follows the same path through the trees as the others did. Clearing the bank he turns to again consider the place where their companion disappeared. "The True World can be as deadly as it is beautiful. We must remember that."

While the road is obviously in disuse, Otzali kneels down to examine the area for tracks. Wonder if we're the only ones who have been through here....... he doesnt actually have tracking, but.....
ok, Im reaching, but worth a shot!

Ik' Skull wrote: "Know that they are with child, and ask if we have things made of our own hands for their child." "I cannot perform Hishna yet. I've made obsidian weapons but they might not be a good gift......" Otzali bows deep as the treants take their leave, making a mental note to have a better gift ready when they return this way. "Don't want to delay the quest, but I am curious to see this place."

Otzali nods his agreement, gesturing the band forward so he is the last to leave the chamber. He gives a slight bow to the empty room, his mind assuming that the creature has not left but rather returned to its unseen state. With one final look at the collected items, he turns to follow the others out. Ik'Skull: "Did you trust them before?" His face is stoic but his shoulders do slump at the news.
"Even these others, who seem decent enough, should not be trusted. Think about how they have treated our people since they got here,"the stoic face turns into a sneer at the word 'treated', his feelings on the matter all too obvious. "Do you believe for a second that we can let any of them touch the Cloak?"
M Maztican
Otzali climbs the stairs cautiously, looking from side to side for any type of evidence that might give them a clue to what the group might find inside. He pauses at the doorway to again examine the carvings and signs. Anything about the symbology that tells us something about the pyramid? any significance to the music playing?? Seeing Merisiel about to step forward Otzali reaches out a hand to touch her arm.
Taking a deep breath and readying his maca, Otzali takes the lead and steps through the doorway. unless the symbols/music give us some other type of warning, of course!
