Ivid IV had either 123 or 124 sons (or total children), the two oldest of which -- 'Eldest' and 'Elder' -- warred against their siblings committing fratricide until only the Eldest and Elder remained. The Eldest of Ivid IV's sons (Orsino's grandfather) secretly impregnated his father's latest concubine -- and the young 'wife' was quickly hidden away in Medegia, in the Church of Stern Alia.

During her pregnancy, the Elder Ivid finally won the war against the Eldest, killing him. Shortly thereafter, the Elder Ivid conspired with another of Ivid IV's concubines to murder his own father, so the Elder Ivid claimed the Malachite Throne to become Ivid V, Overking of Aerdy -- Ivid the Mad.

Orsino's father was born in secret in Medegia, in the church of Stern Alia, unbeknownst to Ivid V. During the boy's childhood Ivid V megalomaniacally ruled the Great Kingdom of Aerdy from Rauxes, slaughtering his subjects, razing the lands of his enemies, and in paranoia and hate, transformed his most powerful barons into Undead Lich/Anti-Paladins called Death Knights.

The rightful King, "Ivid VII" (for the Ivid VI, Eldest, was murdered) stayed hidden in Medegia during these few decades -- even after the capital city of Rauxes was destroyed by a magical conflagration and Ivid the Mad disappeared forever.

The young Ivid VII in the church of Stern Alia fell in love with a girl orphan also present, and the two produced a son, Orsino: The rightful Ivid VIII. During his first years The Great Kingdom has been sundered, with no King on the Malachite Throne, and the various Death Knights and other powerful Barons and Noble Houses war against each other in an attempt to gain the Malachite Throne and rebuild a New Aerdy Kingdom.

Orsino, despite being the rightful heir, supports Malvolio of Medegia who, these past few years, has conquered Medegia and is building a power base from which to conquer the sundered Kingdom of Aerdy.

In Suundi, building her cover, she met a Viking from among the Frost Barbarians in the Thillonrian Mountains far to the north. This Viking had decided to remain in the south, temperate Suundi after his clan's raids -- rather than go back home to the perpetual frost, snow and ice mountains. And like most Frost Barbarians in the Thillonrian mountains, this Viking was pure Suel. A perfect option to continue the Bloodline and maintain the True Race. She married him almost immediately for his genes, the perfect cover for a Scarlet Brotherhood spy.

While their first few offspring would be raised in the ways of The Scarlet Brotherhood and the Suel traditions, their fourth daughter was given to the church of Stern Alia in Medegia. There, this girl fell in love with a lost young man also an orphan, the hiding, rightful heir of the Malachite Throne, Ivid VII, son of the Eldest of Ivid IV's firstborn.

In the church of Stern Alia in Medegia, the daughter of a Scarlet Brotherhood agent in Suundi and the rightful heir to the Malachite Throne -- Orsino (House Naelax), Ivid VIII, was born.
