Resolve point spent to resist that simply terrible pun. Follows after the rest of the group, occasionally rolling a shoulder or prodding at a random spot on his body just to check that it still hurts. When they get back to where Iteration-177 SHOULD be, he frowns really wishes he could scratch the back of his head in confusion. "Well, there's a good chance he played us to make us risk our lives for him. But we were going to do it anyways." There's a pause in his speech before he shrugs. "Guess he just vanished like a ghost."

Marcus, who didn't actually have to do any sinking to reach the ground, decides to stay there. As the Menhir collapses into gravel around him he drops the axe and uses his arms to cover his head. After the minor landslide he peeks out at the scene around him, and on seeing no sign of any more ghosts or elementals he just collapses limp where he's already lying. "I sure hope so, because right now I think I just want to take a nap." After a few moments he glances over at Desha and gives her a thumbs up. "Thanks for the save."

Marcus is still up and still has his grip on the axe, though up is a relative term considering he hasn't bothered to drag himself off the floor yet. "I kind of like it down here, I can brace my swings better. Let's just pretend it's tactical repositioning." Still, he gives Desha a grateful look when her magic starts putting a few of his ribs back in place. "Thanks, this isn't really where I want to die."

Marcus had wound up with the axe to take another swing at the Menhir, but as the ghost rushes through him he simply drops like a rock at the base of the ghostly monolith after the spirit passes by. The axe clatters to the stone nearby. It would actually be 1 RP to stabilize, and 1 to wake up. As it's 1/4th of your max rounded down. And with that the case I have enough RP to wake back up once and still stabilize again if I take any damage. After a few seconds of existing in the comfortable state of unconscious, Marcus's eyes will flutter back open. He'll reach blindly for the axe, find it, and take a wild, disoriented swing in the general direction of the Menhir from where he's lying on the ground. Marcus takes a blow to the side of the chest, but manages to roll with it, avoiding the worst of the rocky attempt at snapping a few of his ribs. He keeps his foot braced against the Menhir and tries to use the position of his foot to find a crack or two in the stone. He then drags the axe off of his shoulder and makes his best mighty swing through, doing only a moderately good impression of a lumbarjack as he slams the blade into the side of the ghost rock. "One or the other, Fionne. I can't swing at both!" He manages to grunt out at the end of his swing. Move action to find a weak point in the stone, and a standard to attack it. Marcus shoulders the axe with both hands and lets out a breath. "Well, this is not how I intended to spend the weekend. I'd rather be dealing with a street gang." He gives the menhir a once over, then follows after the rest of the party only to quickly overtake them. Fioone's shot flies wild over his head as he passes, and he ducks low just out of reflex before barreling up the stairs. When he reaches the Menhir he kicks up a foot to stop himself against it and begin to brace for swinging the axe. "I'm going with Fionne's strategy of excessive damage. Good luck with the ritual thing, guys!" Double move with 120ft total movement to get up to the Menhir this round.

Marcus will look over the gear, give the axe a little extra consideration, and glance over the rest of the team. "I don't think we really brought anyone who's good swinging a big stick of metal around. But if we're just going to swing it at a rock, I can probably manage that. Can't be worse than swinging a bat around." He'd heft up the axe and test the weight after holstering his pistol, then sigh and roll his shoulders. "If it comes down to it I can just drop the stupid thing and start shooting at ghosts, too... I guess we'll be back to drag your pieces home later, Iteration." Then he'd follow after Speck.

Marcus can't fail to aid on engineering. So have a +2, Speck! Marcus will spend a moment rummaging around the scene and eventually reach over Speck's shoulder to hand him what appears to be a finger. "Don't miss this one, he won't be able to show people how much he appreciates them without it." His timely assistance delivered he turns back to Iteration-177 proper and scratches the back of his head. "That seems like a good idea, and we found a ritual about binding spirits. But we can't make heads or tails of it so I'm not exactly sure how we'd go about purging the place. I'm not a priest."

Security for their conventions at Absalom Station was always a nightmare, because something weird always got loose. Despite no signs of threat, Marcus still enters the museum with caution, checking around the corners and doors just inside before stepping further in to give the room the once over. Marcus taps his wave modulator absently against the side of one leg, keeping it in hand just for safety reasons. Especially with ghosts about, even if they appeared benign. He gives Omen and Speck the floor and waves with his free hand towards the ghost. "I get the feeling you two are a bit more trained in dealing with... whatever is going on? Does it want to shake hands or something? And if so, who?" He doesn't make an particular effort to be the one shaking, he didn't want to get close to any rock possessing ghosts if he could help it. "And no holy symbols on me. I keep that sort of thing at home."

Sorry, I couldn't post yesterday as when I had time the website was down for maintenance! And I do not have 1-06 on this character. Marcus spends his time following suit with Desha to keep an eye on the area while the more learned members of the party examine the altar. When Speck mentions no loud noises his own head turns towards Fionne in sync with the ysoki's. After a long, quiet moment he looks at the rest of the group. "Do we send her in first or last? Or... do we want to just back off and let her shoot the wall, let whatever's loose fall free when we're not in there, and -then- keep going?" He was actually liking that idea and starting to check himself for any grenades. "Would avoid any unhappy accidents that way."

Marcus waves off Speck's concerns about more haunted rocks and drops down against a wall not far from Desha to rest for a while. He pulls out a small vial and presses it into the a nozzle on his arm to give himself a dose of one of his own healing serums. "You don't have to rest here, but I sure am. Boxing matches with boulders isn't something on my normal regiment." He clonks the helmet of his suit against the rock wall and stares off down the tunnel they haven't gone yet. Marcus takes a few good knocks to his head, and reaches up to try and rub at one of his temples where he can -feel- a bruise forming. When the first elemental goes down he gives his head a hard shake and tries to turn his attention to the remaining one. "That's better, I'm not a big fan of fist fighting with rocks. Marcus isn't a big fan of fighting things in his face, but he can't exactly move and the rest of the party to getting beat on, so he tries to use a flashlight to distract the elemental. He has some trouble finding its eyes (does it even have eyes?) and leaves himself exposed to getting attacked while he shoots. "By Weydan, apparently! "Why, precisely, am I the one standing right in front of this thing?" How do you even haunt an elemental in the first place? The ground not far in front of him crystallizes, and he turns to peer over his shoulder at Fionna, opens his mouth to say something about her choice of weaponry and the 'fun' factor... then just snaps his mouth shut and thinks before speaking. "That gun doesn't dig into anything. It's not boring at all. But do it again, it work." Desha's words have him dropping his pistol in frustration to swap out for his wave modulator. On the ship Cole looks at Desha in confusion for a long moment, then snaps back to the moment and pats himself down while muttering to himself about knowing he had something before finally producing the report they use to make their landing. "Oh yeah, had it this whole time... entirely intentionally." Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 Cole's steward suit is a rather utilitarian, standard issue affair save for its little personal touches of where scuffs, scrapes, and a blaster singe or two have refused to buff out. This was clearly his work gear. He followed Fionne after pausing to do just as you would assume... access his comms to turn down the volume on her channel alone before he lost an eardrum. With that finished he'd come up beside her and lean over one of her shoulders to stare down at the dirt as well. "Which means what I was worried about, someone else is aware of the records and accessed them. I'm less interested in if someone else came, and more about how recently." He drew out his semi-auto pistol and a flashlight to check the immediate area just as a precaution.

"To be fair. Those Jinsul ships tear Drake class ships apart just as easily, and this ship is better at running." He sniffed once and put his hands on his hips as they stood outside their ride. "If we run into a group of Jinsul ships I'd rather run anyways. And this ship is at least in one piece." Marcus doesn't bother putting on any significant gear for their time in the drift, just storing his equipment in the bunks as he roams the ship in something at least moderately comfortable. He gives the heavily armed stuffed toy a wide berth for those four days. "Is anyone else aware of this location? How easily accessible are the records on your trip?" Marcus pulls off his glasses and stuffs them inside his jacket now that he didn't feel a particular need to hide his face. Both because he didn't see this as anything truly cloak and dagger, and they made him feel a bit silly. "I feel like all this subtlety is excessive. If we run into anyone else or if someone gets wind of our mission, how should we proceed?"

A little late to the meeting, but hopefully not too late, Marcus comes trailing in behind the trio by sliding out from around a corner and hugging the wall as he moves. He appears to be a rather average fellow with his only distinguishing features the beard on his face and the hair grown out enough to touch at his shoulders. He has a confident walk and the slightly rigid posture of a man used to standing at attention. He's wearing a pair of sunglasses, but they don't hide the fact he's giving Desha's armor the once over. He pulls away one flap of his workman's jacket to flash the Steward uniform undershirt along with his badge. On closer inspection his pants and boots are clearly from a set of BDUs, also Steward issue. "Your badge is busted. Probably for the best if we're running around keeping secrets." He pauses for a moment and then sighs. "I really hope we're not doing anything I need to bury in the paperwork again... Marcus, by the by."
He is an active officer! His current assignment is as a liaison to the Starfinders to smooth over any particular speedbumps their overly zealous murderhobo ways may induce. Also to try and cut some red tape when dealing with local authorities. I saw that Desha had the same archtype and immediately got excited at the idea of a psuedo buddy cop experience. =) |
