I dont know if this is the game busting thing I think it might be. If it is I advise against doing it. If you have an intelligent item and give it the ability to use the skill "Use Magic Device" then you can make an item that can use wands and such. Imagine a character with say 8 intelligent magic items that can do this and they have high CL wands of a spell like Fireball or Hammer of Righteousness. that is like 8 of those spells a round.

Be careful to avoid letting this happen in your games.

Beware of players that wont tell you how they became so powerful. I am not saying he is a cheat but it happens. You and your friends are supposed to support eachother in and out of the game.

I see your points Seeker. But it is only the one spell that is not right (mage armor) as it is a Conj spell. The +'s to BAB and spell casting every level has several precidents and the bonuses that you get at each level really dont add that much. I know I just took it real far by going with a huge Dex and the Twilight Celestial Full Plate becase I wanted to be a Tank becase of my AC with a descent gun from my weapon and spells.

Do you disallow the Abjurant Chamion because you do allow classes fro those books?

Doh My character has a BAB of 11 so is like a 11th level Fighter and casts as a 8 Wizard/3 Duskblade.

I dont know if I am to late to show you all a build I recently did that might also fit well.

Stats are not hard to figure out, but you can do as you like.

Fighter 1
Duskblade 2-4
Wizard 5-6
Abjurant Champion 7-8
Spellsword 9
Abjurant Champion 10-12

I plan on either Eldritch Knight or Dragon Disciple. The fighter to start for the feats. Then the Duskblade adds arcane casting, Combat Casting feat, and the ability to channel touch spells thru my wpn, and its own cool spells. Wizard to expand my arcane spell lists for the better touch spells. Abjurant Champion for the continued growth in Wizard and BAB plus the Shield spell that is fast, dbl duration, and AC9 at 5th level Abj Cham. so I can use a 2-handed weapon and still have a shield. Spellsword is one I took for the 10% Ignore spell Fail so I can wear Twilight Celestial Full Plate at NO spell failure chance.

My character has a huge AC and can cast spells or channel touch spells like Vampiric Touch on my attacks. My AC is 32 with my high Dex and can add AC9 for my shield spell as a swift action and also Lesser Deflect as an Immediate action can give me another AC9 because it is also an Abjuration against some attacks. My AC can be as high as AC50.

I know it is alot of multiclassing, but it seems to be a very able character. Tell me what you think please.

I would say that you should let the player see what all of these fine folks think and then he can better decide. It can be good to get alot of opinions and then show your players those opinions.

You will advance in 1 spellcasting class for your spellcasting abilities as if you had gone up 1 level in that class. In your case, you will be able to cast spells as a wizard that has gained a level. You will still be a Wizard 5 but your wizard class casting will be just as if you were a Wizard 6. Every level you get that says "+1 existing spellcasting class" will do that. If you advance farther in Wizard you will still gain spellcasting levels and you can get more of the Wizard bonuses like the Feat you get from time to time, save adds, and BAB adds. I hope that explains it !

As I see it the item you are making doesnt have to be concidered cursed. It could just be a High Ego intelligent item of evil that does Negative energy effects. Any player that fails the ego checks is basically controlled somewhat by the item.

You can add a Curse to it if you want. The description of how to do that is in Pathfinder page 536 and can be interesting. I generally find that those kind of items are to much of a pain to the players and can really upset someone if you force them to make a radical change to their character that just isnt what they want. So be careful or you will blow up a players character.

Abraham is right! Make a Headband that increases your Wis and Cha, and then add the Phylactery ability to that item by paying an additional 50% for the phylacterys cost. That way the headband can do both.

Divine Intervention? As in a diety has an interest in them being able to accomplish their goal, so it permanently or temporarily bumps their levels. Maybe the deal is a temporary increase and if they succeed greatly the diety says the levels are permanent as a special reward.

This kind of intervention can be from many powerful type beings. Dragons, Dieties, powerful outsiders, etc. The only resriction I can see is that it probably cant be from a being that uses Negative energy.

If you want to stay in the Pathfinder system, sghe can play a Half-Orc Barbarian and be just fine.

For the Shortsword you may want to concider getting a Sun Blade or two.

I can see using a sloted shield to attack with a spear that is a stright forward thrusting Piercing weapon , but a Glaive is a slashing weapon and that is ALOT more difficult.

I have an assassin guild for most of my games. I have tried to use foreign words to name it, but nothing seems to fit. Anyone have any ideas for a good name?

How about "The Five and Die'em"
