As much as I didn't like the constant interrogation, I decide to follow this group. Something seems off with this plan of theirs though. I was under the assumption that the source of this chaos was on top of a mountain range.

OCC: Sorry guys, but I had a Psychology Exam on Tuesday so I spent a great portion of that weekend & Monday studying for it. )

"I am a military academy student sent on a mission by my government. There was an engine malfunction and I got stranded in an asteroid belt before landing here. There are no others with me," He said.

Colm was grateful that others were here, even if they were strange looking. He nodded and said, "Follow me this way."

"I am Lightning Lad, of the Legion of Super Heroes. We are investigating this unlikely spacial phenomenon and looking for lost people and crash victims. Who might you be and have you seen anyone else in this region?"

The humanoid with blue skin and short red hair, stared momentarily at the strange figure. The stranger's colorful uniform was in direct contrast to the black and grey uniforms standard in the Ovgian army.

I wish to spend an hour digging for crystals. All the vegetation might point to minerals.

ObeliskYes you have a survival suit available. There are many kinds of suits, some provide protection from various types of conditions, others are designed for specific types of atmospheres or climates. Virtually all space suits are designed to protect against the cold (space) as well as provide modifications to breathing.

Alright, let's go outside. Food and water are still in good supply, but maybe I could find something to use for fuel. Are there any paths or is it all vegetation? How tough is the vegetation (able to cut through?)?

As you descend few thousand feet and make your way closer to the cloud, you surprised at what you see. When you first noticed the cloud, it appeared to be montionless, perhaps a strange distortion in the air. Now you can see that it is slowly moving, something is billowing upwards forming the dark cloud. Shades of grey mixed with black are the only colors you can see as you approach. You are still scores of miles away, but the details are starting to form.

Is it possible to fly above the cloud?

If not, where can I land?

As pretty as it is, the flat land is a point of disadvantage. The mountains over the best strategic advantage at this point. I want to investigate the black cloud see if their is high ground capable of supporting this vehicle.

It's a choice between uncertain death in space or uncertain death on this planet. It is too late to turn back now. I must break the clouds and attempt to land.

Your flight thus far to the mysterious planet doesn't present any significant dangers. As you draw closer however, you notice that some of your instruments are giving off strange readings. You notice a sudden surges and drops, back and forth, amongst systems such as fuel, weapons, shields, navigational systems, essentially all of the instrument panels are going haywire. You cannot be certain what the readings actually are because they keep changing very dramatically. This happens at approximently 3/4 of the way to the planet.

I must scan the terrain for a safe place to land. What type of planet is this?

The results of the scan identify the radiation as coming from below the surface of the planet. The type of radiation encountered is unknown by your instruments. The computer analysis indicates that the radiation substance is very low and currently possess no danger to most humanoids, but is indeed your source of trouble with communications. The radiation also is composed of substances which have beneficial healing effects, much like that used by cancer patients of the 21st century.

Pain is better than death. Do I have enough fuel to attempt a landing?

I decided to use this time to investigate more into the communication interferences. Maybe I will find something worthwhile. I need alittle Luck.

I don't know much about this subsector of space. It's not considered important. It will be best to make a Computers & Communications roll to see what is there.

"The asteroid field is blocking communications," I think aloud. I decide to run scans of the area before going outside to fix the fuel tank.

I chose to send my message to the closest military outpost, which happens to be a U.P supply depot.

The warning light appears on the screen. I weigh the options in my head for a few seconds. If I send out a SOS, would it attract Khunds or other undesirables? Would it hurt my country? Or could I take a chance and land on one of these tiny asteroids?

I was taken out of school under orders of General Tsulio. It seems there has been an attack on an asteroid base by the Myarians. We are always fighting over asteroid bases with them. I was only given a small vehicle and left early in the morning. I do not understand the need for secrecy. My superior mumbled something about a U.P treaty as I was leaving.

I decide to land on a small asteroid. To become immobile would conserve fuel and buy time.
