Still updating him, but I'd like to present Nym as a candidate. Assuming anniversary campaign traits? One trait will be Forlorn, and the other will be Scholar of the Ancients.

Nym was born and raised in Ridleport to a pair of former adventurers. His parents were fine raising their children in a human city, learning human culture, just so long as they held on to their acestral traditions. Each in their own way Nym and his sister Faey dissapointed their parents. Faey took to magic in the form of alchemy, and Nym took to swordsmanship in the style of the Aldori dueling masters.

Tension rose in the Vallidorn house until the siblings decided to take to the road as adventurers. Faey traveled to Korvosa on her own journey, and Nym made his way along the Lost Coast, ultimately finding himself in Sandpoint.

Having grown up in a city built on the ruins of an ancient civilization Nym was delighted to find not only The Old Light, but a local sage who specializes in Thassilon. The two hit it off, and Nym proved to be an apt pupil, learning both the history and language from Bordent. In return for lessons Nym would often travel to distant towns in search of rare texts or rumors concerning the Thassilonian empire.

Nym has recently returned from such a trip to find a great deal of going ons in the town...

Just to be super clear, the man still has a bear trap attached to his leg...is the bear trap chained to anything or is it loose? IE, does it look like he got caught here, or did he get this far before bleeding out?

Nym will move about the outside of the pool to try and get into position to come at one engaged with Kevin, hoping to get a flank if possible. Before attacking he will spend 1 point of Arcana Pool to make his rapier +1 as a swift action.

Nym wrinkles his nose at the cloud of gass released from the box (it's an elf thing), quickly looking around to see if he gassed any of his companions as well.

"Andrea or Wren, please be so kind as to inform me if I'm about to die, or turn into a zombie and begin eating you all, or some other horrific fate...There seems to have been a trap that eluded my investigative abilities..." Nym's words speak of nocholance, but it's easy enough to note how forced the effect is.

Cocking an eyebrow upon seeing the door being opened he lets out a sigh..."This is what happens when we let Kevin make the morning coffee..." He seems to have more to say on the subject, but with Haster's description of Vorkstag he continues with only a grimace of disgust.

On his action Nym will move into the room with more concern given to getting into a flanking position with one of the big and beefies of our party than making an attack this turn.

Hearing the brief commotion, Nym spins on heal and bursts through the door where his fellows just vanquished the pack of mongrelfolk.

Sword drawn, casting hand up and at the ready, he surveys the scene and lowers his blade...a sheepish grin on his face. "I turn my back for just one moment and you lot go killing everything. Perhaps I'll stick around after all."

Assuming Wren is the best equiped to inspect the flask, Nym will search around the graves a little more, seeing if there's anything important about the names on the grave stones (same family name, same religion, something like that), and poke around to see if they were dug up, or dug themselves out.

Things have been going pretty quick for me too. I'm not dropping out, but definatly not of the mind that I'm tapping my foot waiting for the GM to post ;) I logged on earlier and was 36 or so posts behind...was horrified until I saw it was a lot of short Q&A type.
