I like it. Right into the thick of things is a tip that this is a tough AP, which I look forward to. I imagine the heavier RP will happen once we prove our worth by saving Khonnir and turning on the Flame, gods willing! I read the players guide pretty extensively, there are a few really cool places in town we can check out.

Norm brushes himself dry as best he can. His vigor to find his lost fiend seems to have focused him a great deal. He unpacks his hand-crafted ammunition and loads Lilly.

"Khonnir is a forbidable man and he was not traveling alone. Whatever waylaid his party had to be fierce indeed. I am glad to have you all here with me. I promise to keep my aim true, isn't that right old girl?" he says, patting down his prized Musket. As he speaks you note him crouching, as if scanning the ground for tracks.

Get well soon GM!. For expediency's sake assume we go to get water breathing from the priest and head to the cavern. I'll stow my ammo in one bag, and ask our kind cleric to protect my weapon by reciting one of the scrolls. Just prefer to keep the pace going. Cheers! :)

I'm posting to keep us up t speed when the GM comes back. :) I like to remain productive in PBP's and I figured that would cover our lost game time.

After the trip to the temple to receive the blessing of underwater breathing Norman leads the others to the water source. Stowing his ammo in one water tight case he offers to hold any spellbook or holy texts in his spare.

He removes one of two scrolls from his pack and asks the kind cleric to recite it's words to protect his firearm. As soon as it's done Norm double checks his belongings and those of his companions for waterproofing.

He takes the plunge, looking for the cavern under the water.

take 10 Perception: 10 + 5 = 15
take 10 Swim: 10 + 0 = 10

We can also assume we investigated the mucky ichor where the flame once burned along the way. Our kind GM told us what we'd find should we choose to do so. :)

I may be misunderstanding but I believe there is currently no Flame to actually visit. We're tasked with going underground to look for Khonnir and attempt to rekindle the Flame from below. I could be way off though. :)

Norman comes back in, shouldering his musket and makes his way over to help Val hide the wreckage.

"I suppose we should go have a look at where the Flame once burned. Afterwards we'll stop by the temple and speak with the priests about the aid they've offered. I've got to go grab a couple scrolls of a spell to keep Lilly in firing shape, along with all m'ammo, for when we take the plunge. We will come back as soon as we find him Val, I promise."

Glancing beyond the bar to the bottles arrayed behind it, Norm looks to Val once more. "Have a little nip of the stuff there in the green bottle - yes, the Chelaxian vintage, to calm your nerves and get some sleep darlin'. I promise not to tell Khon when I see him." the hunter smiles affectionately and gives the kellid girl a sly wink, as if her drinking would be their little secret.

"Shall we depart, us brave few?" Norm says, looking at his companions with resolution in his eyes.

If this is the spell the priest is going to cast I going to have him cast it on my masterwork backpack full of ammunition as well as on Lilly. I'll also purchase 2 Scrolls of the level 1 spell for 40gp (after discount) in case we stay down too long. It's Cleric 1 so our good cleric could activate 'em for me :) In the spell description it seems to suggest It can be cast on items and containers.

Hehe Norm lacks people skills. He's not unattractive, just offputting and gruff. Imagine the people who move to remote parts of, say, Alaska? I imagine Numeria has that same 'far from civilization' feel, kind of removed from the politic'ing of the Inner Sea's shining cities. A kind of place a man can go and be alone and live free. He had no idea of the technic league and their plots etc. :) Hope that clears up Norms lack of people skills.

Aid Another is my face skill! :P If I may, since we're working with limited social resources, we can all just attemp to Aid Bitha's Intimidates via Aid Another. I think the DC is 10 for a stacking +2 to Bitha's roll.. We can build off of some sort of 'pack mentality' intimidation this way. Any other suggestions for social situations? :)

Norm scans the growing crowd, looking for any familiar faces.

Looking around he follows Bitha's lead, shifting Lilly's weight from one shoulder to the other purposefully. "Nothing to see here, just a kitchen accident. Val's a nervous wreck and she dropped a few pans. You all aught to be ashamed - you're just adding to her distress." the marksman says gruffly. "Get on home now folks."

"It's ok Val, that's a big help. My place is barely a shack and I must admit I love your cooking. Let me see if I can disperse this crowd before the town's guard show up." Norm says, returning the fierce hug and making the round of introductions.

Walking over to the door the gunsmith waves off the crowd to the best of his ability, shutting the Foundry's doors if possible. He returns to the others, his two companions adorned in their magical runes and at the two kellid girls chatting each other up.

Val's really become quite the young woman. By all the gods, please let us find her father alive...

As he makes his way back to the assemblage of fierce females Norm points to the wrecked automaton. "We need to hide that. In case one of the constables come..." pausing to scratch his neatly trimmed beard the hunter seems to be weighing options, "Yes, moving it til Khonnir can take a look seems appropriate - he'll know what caused it to act that way I'm sure. I don't want people asking questions and thinking we're under attack if this was an accident or fluke."

Yes. It means for us to break the poor thing I think. Good job all! :) Lilly is on a hot streak - let me go deduct 12gp worth of Ammo from my sheet. (worth it!) Norm isn't much older than Val and has all sorts of human mixed feels for her. We'll see how it goes. She's Khonnir's daughter and a feisty young Kellid near Norm's age who he happens to see regularly at the Foundry. Ahhhh the humanity.)

Norman crosses the room, his external expression one of calm concern, trying to steady his emotions seeing the girl's safety.

"Are you ok Val? We just went to see Dolger, I - We," he corrects himself as he waves at the others to come closer, "We are going to go find Khonnir. Is there anything you can remember, think hard Val, anything at all that might help us in finding your dad?" Norm says, putting a hand on the young Kellid's shoulder.

"What is that thing we just broke? I don't think I recall seeing that last time I was over." the slim hunter says, re-shouldering his musket as he casts a wary look at the wrecked automation.

Looking back at the young Kellid,"Dolger said we should set up a base of operations here. Is that good with you?" he grins, mock-asking the feisty youth her permission and giving her shoulder a firm squeeze.

As an afterthought he looks back at the wrecked heap. "Any more of those stashed in the Foundry by the way?"Norm asks, arching an eyebrow.

Haha I meant non-lock Disabling of Devices he has a 9. Norm uses stealth before any nose picking. I also added a brief guide on my sheet as to where I'm going level by level up to 5, just to keep me on track. From there I'm considering a monk 2 level dip to gain Dodge and Mobility which are pre-requisites for a feat that allows me to reload/fire/threaten in melee with firearms at level 7. I have a lot of thinking to do.l At level 3 I'll be able to reload 2-handed firearms as if they were one-handed (Free Action reloads with 2 handed firearms as long as I use paper cartridges.) Decisions decisions

*My thinking being that once I can fire and reload without provoking in melee I can help Flank with our mighty Barbarian and Eidolon. :)

*2 Levels of Monk let me add my +2 Wisdom Mod to my ac and remove my heavy leather armor. Norm is close to Light Load and this helps. A ways away though.(7th level for all of it to 'come online')

Excellent work with the archtype 0 I'll eventually run this AP for my home game and if any of my players are interested in summoner I'll offer them your work as an option. AP's are great for house rulls - a departure from PFS strictness. :) My posting may be slower this weekend, wedding to attend but I'm sure I'll find a way ;) Keep it up all!

Should the need to arrise feel free to bot Norm. Lilly is loaded, and reloading all of my current ammunition takes a move action(Rapid Reload, paper Cartridge, 2-handed Weapon). He carries a few adamantine shells, and silver. One never knows. He has MW lockpicks and a black 'techpick' for tech-locks. For non-magical traps and locks he has a +11(locks) and for tech-locks he has a +10. For non lock based picking his skill is 9. Cheers!

Depending on the depth, a whole bunch of us could maybe Aid-Another swim the survivors up. Or go to town and convince the priest to come with us and bring his wand with him! I laughed at the second scenario...that conversation would be interesting.

I'm playing Norm as a sort of an open-minded fellow due to his close association with Khonnir. If he knows or learns what you are, expect him to keep the secret. He's way more curious about your condition - he has caught tech fever from Khonnir and would consider you a life form and not a tool :)

Oh, and Zlota did you see what GM and I were talking about for summoners? With Charisma being your casting stat was 11 what you intended? It caps you at level 1 spells forever and decreases the DC of any offensive spells you may pick up later by lots. We weren't sure if you found an archtype that let you use Int instead of Charisma or only meant to take levels in an Intu based casting class later. Im curious is all - absoltuely cool if that's the way you envision your character. Cheers :)

As far as I can tell our kind GM would prefer us to travel together. So I propose a democratic solution: Where to start.

1: Other town Counsilors, see if they can aid us with clues and perhaps supplies. Khonnir is worth a lot to torch and although Norman's reasons for finding Khon are personal, reward money will be good for the team if that's what they are offering

2:At the summit of the extinguished flame. It's not burning and we need to figure out why - my gut tells me if it could have been relit from the summit the townsfolk would have keened to that already. We still need to check it though, no doubts.

3:Val Baine: She's 16ish if memory serves, she may know more than a 'child' would and Khonnir's latest finds are with her.

4:Strait to the caves where Khonnir and the lost expeditions went.

We're going to have to play soft with each other, the barbarian already wants to smash robots and half of the party are robots. Sooooo, yeah. Just an observation hehe

I vote we go in the following order, we'll tally votes and work a route from there if thats good w/ everyone?

1, 3, 4, 2.

Let's see if we can come to some sort of consensus since we're already talking in circles before we get passed introductions. :)

He looks to Bitha, "I know the stories your people tell, and I doubt them not fierce warrior. Please try to keep in mind though, the automatons that menaced your tribe were probably under the thrall of some darker being, tools of some malevolent master. Not all 'robots' are the same. Khonnir could explain this better." Norman says, the frustration in his voice grows as he is unable to convey his point as well as his mentor would have.

Norm chuckles, nodding at his companions as they speak.

"We shall assuredly check the flame AND the automaton. Let's go speak to the counsolers, then check on Val and the automaton at the Foundry. After that we can decide where to go from there - I can tell you this much ladies, nothing will get done sitting in my kitchen bantering all day." the gunsmith says with an edge in his voice that shows he has little patience for inaction when one of his best friends may be lost, or worse. He grabs his musket and makes to head for the door.

"Shall we?" he shoots back, looking over his shoulder.
