Is this the only way? Or are there other passages where we are? If not, we will wait until the bat stops smoking. As long as there is nothing in the passage, we will wait out the smoke.

Norjan squints his eyes and attempts to determine who, or what, the humanoid ahead may be. And also what the chirping is and where it is coming from. Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Lets head down this passage before the room fills with smoke. Unless someone can put that fire out. I head down the non-burning passage behind Sweet. Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

I guesstimate that this dead beast will burn for a good half hour, and probably smolder for another 30 minutes thereafter. It will be tough getting into that south tunnel until it has burned out. When Icabhod begins to dump water on it.

I was trying to shoot it. If it moves slow, I can fire my bow for 2-3 rounds and then just move back more. As long as you all stay out of the way, this is what I posted in the IC about 15 posts ago.

Well, lets see if this works. The rest of you stay as far from it as you can. Down the passage would be good. I take out my bow, nock and arrow and fire into the center of the ooze. Attack-composite longbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Until someone identifies the ooze, all we know is that something shiny is dissolving Varrel. I have no ranks in any Knowledge skills, so someone else needs to roll it. I am pretty sure that the DM stated this a few posts back.

Mind effecting stuff usually does not work against undead unless it says that it specifically does. Cackle simply makes hexes work longer - if the initial hex does not affect undead, then the cackle would simply continue something that does not work.

I just make all my characters by hand. Have no interest in spending money on something like Herolab. If I had the energy, I would just program it myself, does not seem that difficult. Mind you I have not done any programming in 10 years. I know little about the Magus. One of 2 or three classes I have not thoroughly studied. Barbarian is one of the others I have not yet played. Personally, I hate the format generated by Herolab. I find it to have a strange format with the stats in the middle. The horizontal formatting of the skills and stuff is strange. And finding equipment and stuff is a pain. Perhaps that is just me, but I would prefer doing it by hand and doing it in a format that is easy to read and modify as necessary.

Seeing the bat above Sweet, I 5-foot move to E3 and attack with my picks. Since climbing down the rope would have been a move action, I assume I could have drawn my picks? Attack-heavy pick-PA: 1d20 + 12 - 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 12 - 2 - 2 + 2 = 25 <-- -2 PA, -2 2-handed, +2 flanking
Attack-light pick: 1d20 + 12 - 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 12 - 2 - 2 + 2 = 30
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 12 - 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 12 - 2 - 2 + 2 = 22

Turning to Shine - If you have any more healing magic, I could use some about now. Took a few shots that I should have avoided had I used better tactics. And, now lets get into this pit and see rescue our companions. As soon as Shine heals him some, Norjan turns and hurries over the the pit. Once there, he asks one of the others to hold the rope (or to tie it to a tree) and then jumps into the pit while holding securely to the rope so that he will not fall should the pit open again.

DM Baldwin:
I am confused. You did 7 damage, 1/2 if reflex save is made. I rolled a 19. While technically, I take no damage if 1/2 damage usually because of Evasion, in the case of my weapon, I will assume that evasion does not work - does not seem realistic to me although I suppose someone could make an argument related to it as RAW. Thus, with the 7 damage - 1/2 would be 3 or 4, not sure about rounding. The hardness of my pick, even with a wooden handle, would be 7. Since I deduct Hardness sort of like DR for monsters, then the pick should not have taken any damage. Please correct me if I am missing anything.
We all need to make a list of regular spells we cast so that we are prepared in the future - Message, Spectral Hand, long duration buffs, etc.

Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 <-- Should be no damage after reduction for hardness. Icabhod - I do not think your axe took any damage. Look at the DM Baldwin - would a Heavy/Light Pick and a Battle Axe be wood hafted or iron? It would seem strange to have a wood handle on a weapon because of how easy it would break.

DM Baldwin:
Yes and no. It does include natural weapons per Sean K. Reynolds. I was hesitant on taking it at the time until I had verified this as I assumed than there would be many monsters without weapons. On the flip side, I royally screwed up. The reason that I stopped using the second pick was so that the Crane Wing would work, but then I forgot to switch to fighting defensively like I usually do. The whole reason for only using one pick was to get the benefit of Crane Wing. Oh well. For this round, I will take the damage and then make sure that I do this correctly in the future.
Round 3
Attack-Heavy Pick-PA: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Attack-unarmed-PA:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Fighting Defensively: AC23 Unfortunately both his blows are less than accurate. Swift Action: Begin Monkey Style

DM Baldwin:
No problem. Round 2 Norjan sheathes one of his picks and begins to attack all out with the other. Normal fighting, not defensive. AC 21 Attack-Heavy Pick-PA: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 1 - 2 = 21
Male Human Fighter(Two Weapon Warrior)/4 - Monk of Many Styles/2 - HP: 58/58; AC 20, FF 17, T 13; F+9,R+8,W+6/7; Init+5; Per+10
DM Baldwin: I did not post it this time, but my plan is to always be fighting defensively as I have in all the battles up until this time. Can we just assume that I will be fighting defensively unless I specifically state otherwise? In this case, Fighting Defensively I would have an AC of 25. If not, my AC would have been 21. Your call, my intention was to fight defensively, but I did not post it.

Seeing the worm reappear, Norjan drops the rope, turns around and double moves back to the worm while drawing his picks again. I believe the ground is difficult. If not, I will charge and attack. Swift Action: Start Crane Style
If the ground is not difficult, I will charge and attack. This time it is you and me worm.

DM Baldwin: It would definitely be tied to the pack. I assume that is one of the keys with a Masterwork Pack that it has all kinds of hitches and ties on it so that equipment, like rope, can be securely fastened while reducing encumbrance. Probably 1 waterskin would also be tied to the pack while flint & steel, spare waterskins, flasks of oil, etc. would be in the pack.

DM Baldwin: It is listed "in" the backpack. Most likely due to the nature of rope, especially rope like this that is used for climbing, it would be fastened to the side of the pack for relatively easy access. One of those things that I really don't think about until too late.
Male Human Fighter(Two Weapon Warrior)/4 - Monk of Many Styles/2 - HP: 58/58; AC 20, FF 17, T 13; F+9,R+8,W+6/7; Init+5; Per+10
Seeing the pit directly before me, I grab my rope and toss one end into the pit hoping that those inside can reach it. I assume move action to retrieve rope, standard to toss it. But am not certain about the timing for this. Anyone know two more trap detectors? Norjan calls out sarcastically.

Norjan follows up behind the front two keeping a sharp eye out for anything dangerous. Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 And I am so fascinated with my shiny picks that I see nothing.

I put the bow back on my shoulder and again draw my picks preparing to attack anything that moves. You all should back up. Icabhod and I can hold the front. I am hard to hit if anything will ever attack me.

I don't know what those plants do. Might as well shoot it until it comes here. You all back up. Norjan sheathes his trusty picks and draws the huge bow slung over his shoulder. Attack-Bow: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 1 = 28
