Nigari gently arranges Janira body again after rearranging the backpacks she carried again, making sure that she was still in a place to defend herself, even with the halfling's body in her arms. She stepped back, looking at the now un-undead bodies laying around, "Would you all be kind enough to check to make sure to abominations weren't carrying anything we should return to the gillman up front? If they were carry anything important to their race, I'm sure he would appreciate it's return..."
Nigari walked over to Janira's body, the tall Nagaji kneeling down next to her. "We need to bring her body back with us. It would not be right for us to leave her here!" She looks up, "I can carry her back... It will not prevent my ability to defend myself if we run into anything else!" She very carefully picks up Janira's body, carrying her in her arms as she starts to follow after Div and Amelia, looking back at the others. "One of you should check him out..." she nods her head to the minotaur, "He might be carrying something that will assist us."
Nigari hisses at she watches Janira go down, the Nagaji quickly moving forward to work her way into position to move in to attack the Minotaur... then drops down lower, trying to use the distraction of the other pathfinders to try to get closer to the Minotaur without it's attention... Move action: Move 30 feet while stealthed.
Nigari follows after the others, closing up her fans once more and moves along, [b]"I agree, that they most likely have gone to set up a trap for us.... or maybe get others of their kind. I don't know much about Mites, but if they are like most predators, those three might be just a hunting party with more of them ahead."[b] She is watching for tracks or signs as she moves along.
Nigari looks over at Divdesmit and Amelia, nodding her head. She turns directly to Divdesmit, "You get the front, I'll cover the rear, just in case. I don't exept him.." She nods her head just slightly towards the gillman, [b]"To cause any problems, but he did mention things in the other tunnel and I don't want to take the chance that they decide to pick that moment to come up behind us..."[\b] She stops, waiting for the rest of the group to continue on their way into the monster tunnel, drawing out the two fans she possessed and unfolding them. She moved to try to stay behind the party by about 30 feet, trying to keep quiet as she moved behind them, not alerting anything that comes towards them.
The tall Nagaji stepped forward between Divdesmit and Abaal, looking back and forth between them as she speaks gently and without hostility, "Gentleman, I am sure that there was no malice meant in anything that was said... please, we are all here and were told to work together to explore these caves and find out what is going on here. So please, to make this work best for all of us, let us take a step back from it, and figure out how we all can best help figure this out..."
Nigari moves the halflings bag into her front and opens it up...She starts digging through all the things in the bag, reading each of the labels that the halfling was so meticulous about using... "Hmm, let's see..potions...we got barkskin, two cure light wounds, feather step, and vanish...doesn't seem like any of those will help... Scrolls... Entangle, gust of wind, identify, mage armor, obscurring mist.. again, I don't think any of them will be of any help. We've got a couple of wands here, burning hands, and cure light wound. Then the rest of the stuff is acid, alchemist's fire while good with the swarm earlier, not so sure about the frogs... would probably hurt the city if we used it... Holy Water, smokestick, oh...this might work..." She reaches into the bag and pulls out two Tanglefoot bags, "Tanglefoot bags? Though I'm not sure...the rune I was looking about was about herding animals....would this count? I didn't grow up on a farm or anything like that, so not really my specialty.." She look around at everyone, holding up the bags, waiting to see if everyone this this is a good idea... "I could scare the frogs..." She grins a bit.."Frogs and snakes aren't usually the best of friends, you know..."
Nigari looks over the rubbing of The Shepard more.
She turns her head, listening closer to the sounds in the cave. "Does anyone else hear frogs coming from down there? I am going to guess there is water that way...and if there is a gathering of Gillman, I imagine they would be somewhere near the water, if what people said a bit ago is true..." She stops and waits for the others, moving back to resume her spot at the back of the party, listening for anyone coming from behind them...
Nigari continued to stay silent, the snake woman holding up the back of the party, making listening to make sure that no one comes into the cave behind them, wanting to make sure that they aren't surprised by one of the gillmen returning to the cave or something worse on the way in.
As they get up to the carvings, Nigari sets her bag down, pulling out some paper and chalk, to take a gentle rubbing of the carvings, then goes back to seeing if she recognize them now that she can look at the rubbing...
Nigari slung the halflings bag around her back, carrying it on her right shoulder and her own on her left shoulder. The combined weight of the two packs seemed to do little to slow the Nagaji down as she continued to move with the rest of the party, doing her best to continue to move quietly, trying to avoid drawing anythings attention should be happen to run into something.
she stops at the edge of the hole, looking down to see what is visible below them, making sure that they aren't in danger right away should they find a way to scale down.
As Janira tells them to take cover and drops the bag, Nirari moves over to where she dropped it and then turns to head in the other direction like the halfling instructed them. She presses into the now open cave, sliding into the shadow and starting to move slower, trying to cover her tracks so nothing else heard them coming, as well as watching for anything else coming on as them moved inward, her ability to see in the low light helping from what came in through the cave entrance. stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
The nagaji reaches down to her belt pouch, pulling out her flask as well, but holds back on it as she sees the others throwing their's at the insects, waiting to see how the insects react to the flame of the alchemist fire, holding on in case one more is needed. Nigari smiles a bit more and nods to Amelia and Divdesmit, "It is a pleasure to meet both of you..." Nigari can't help but chuckle softly, her eyes still watching Essua, entertained as he can not seem to find a way for his arms to be comfortable...so, she decides to have just little more fun with him, entertained by the human. She walks over and slides her arm around his as he suggests they hit the shoppes, "That sounds like a great idea. After you."
Nigari couldn't help but grin just a little at the man's reaction as she had stepped up, holding back a laugh as he staggered to say his name. "Well, it is a pleasure to meet you Essua...and don't worry, I don't bite...unless that's something your into..." the grin on her face increased at her words, an almost predatory glint in her eyes. Once he finally stopped shaking her hand up and down, she simply smiled, "Never met another Nagaji before, I'm guessing. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them for you..." "Well, then it is nice to hear that we will have someone ready in case trouble should arrive. Not all members of society appear to be as marshal as some individuals. I am simply a temple servant, hoping to expand her knowledge and find her place..." She then stopped, looking around at the others, "And what about all of you? "
Nigari smirked as she heard Essua, then turned to look at human who had just popped his fingers. "Sounds like you are looking forward to it? Are you hoping to have a fight start?" The tall courtesan walked over to the fighter, "Since we are all going to be traveling together, we should probably introduce ourselves. I am Nigari." She extended her hand out to Essua...
The Nagaji in yellow & black robes listens carefully to the words of both the master of Scrolls and his students as they speak of the concealed cave and the gillmen. Her bright yellow eyes watch each of them, nodding just slightly as the halfling finishes speaking and starts to head out. "So, is there a reason we should be expecting the gillmen to be hostile to simply a group exploring a cave? I mean, from what Janira said, she only saw two of the go into the caves. I don't imagine they would be wanting to pick a fight if they are indeed outnumbered like that." |
