Nick draws an arrow and prepares to shoot the first monster to show its ugly face

As he sees what's happening, Nick yells to the others "We're under attack! Everybody who can fight prepare, the rest dash below deck!"
He runs to the center of the boat and prepares to shoot the first monster to appear.
Nick waits to think for a while then speaks "An attack from Deep below? I wonder what could be... anyway I'll stand watch. But first, how's everybody's days going? I've been busy these days." he says with a wide smile.
"Thank you, Paracount. I swear by Old Deadeye that I won't make you regret your decission." he then signals Nilfy to come with him reallocate his belongings to the new dorms. "Nilfy, I trust you won't do anything. I don't know why but I trust you. Let's see how we can help around the boat, lf we work hard the Paracount will free you of that pendant in no time." Nick spends the next days helping around, explaining Nilfy -trying not to be boring- Erastil's meaning of community and why he helped her because of that. He also looks for some spare wood to craft a shortbow for Nilfy, and if she is interested he tries to teach her how to eork wood.
I'm real sorry but it has been my birthday and that coupled with college has kept my head around... will post today, because for sure I wish to continue!

Nick says: "Let's not kill people who have surrended"
"I suppose that could work. But she shouldn't just be a worker, she needs guidance and she needs to learn from her mistakes. Starting by learning that the Paracount isn't the evil man she thinks. How can we do that? I'm open to suggestions." Nick feels really calm now that the tensions have been solved, to say something.
Hahahaha, I'm okay with it! Nick's just a bit offended because he feels like he is doing his god work and the crazy gnome is reading it as love xD
"I have no crush on nobody, Nym. I have faith. And banishment here is simply delayed death, don't lie to yourself. I do this because I think she can be saved... and even if that's the hardest path I won't have it otherwise."
Nick smiles to the hellknight "Thank you, Azrielan. And don't doubt she will pay, but there are other prices than blood... but were she to break my trust, I would have failed and won't be the one to judge that time." he turns back to Nilfy and tells her "Do you have any objection before the Paracount speaks?"
Nick picks his bow and arrows from under the bed and sits again "Thank you, Nilfy. I'm sorry for shooting you." He hears the whole nine yards of story and after meditating for a few seconds, Nick speaks. "I understand. And I forgive you. You aren't a bad person, just a confused one." He is half talking to the halfling, half to himself "You confused revenge for justice and almost lost your life in the process. Even worse, you almost lost your soul. The storm was a curse for the rest, but it has saved you." He stands up and speaks yo his companions "I don't think she must die, but she must pay nonetheless. She have to learn of justice as to never make this mistake again, she have to so she can be part of whatever we build wherever we arrive." and then he speaks to the Paracount "The rest are yet to speak, but if they agree with me there's still one question left: Nilfy is a slave. I hate slavery with every inch of my being, but as the only relative of his owner present... and possibly the only one she sees until her last days... she is yours, Paracount. As I said, Nilfy and I have a blooddebt between us, and I want to balance it... so I'd like to buy Nilfy from you."
No offense at all, Az! I was looking forward clashing a bit and ending strengthened by the fact hahahahaha! If the final decission is execution Nick will accept it, even if a bit bitter. That said he is a man of good over law, and has some kind of plan in his mind already... I'm eager to try it!
"I disagree. The reasons matters, at least for me. She may have planned to kill the Paracount, and I condemn that action, but I want to understand why, what drived her to this." He touches the wound in his abdomen "Besides, she stabbed me without warning. We have a blood debt, and I want to know her better so I can decide how is she to repay me. That reminds me... I harmed you too, are you in need of assistance? That we caught you doesn't mean we shouldn't treat you with dignity, so if you are harmed by my hand I too have a blood debt to repay." He gets another one of his healing potions out and offers it to the halfling.
A slightly disgusted look in his face "No. You know what she did. You know what she planned to do. She is guilty indeed" Nick faces Azrielan "But you know nothing of why. That's the most important question, why? I stand by my choice: I want to hear what Nilfy has to say before I come to any conclusion."
Nick runs away from the room and gets back again before even 15 seconds have passed carrying two packages. Placing one near the bed he signals the halfling to sit in the chair "Please, there's no need for you to stand up while we all talk." He says with a honest smile before sitting in another unfolded chair in front of her. "I could't understand, Nilfy. Why did you heal me? I was done, a simple stab away from death.... and you bandaged me risking yourself." He seems to wonder the situation for a second "The only explanation to which I arrived is this: You aren't a killer. You may be mad with grief, but you definitely aren't a bad person, nor a killer." He stands up and crouches in front of her again, looking the halfling straight into her eyes "Tell me why you did this, please. I want to understand you so I can defend you. I don't want someone with the potential to change for the better being punished just because nobody understood her." With measured steps he goes back to his chair and sits. "And please, return my bow... It's a gift from my father, before I left my hometown. There's a high chance we will never go back to Cheliax, so I'd rather have that memento with me until the end, please."
Nick moves near Azrielan and tells to the invisible halfling "Dismiss your spell. If you surrender now things will be easier to sort, I'll put a good word for you because you didn't want to hurt me. Nick signals his bandages. "I give you my word. Surrender now, please"
That serves her well for bein a sneaky little witch. Huh (I won't forgive her for stealing my bow)
"I can't see her!"
"Why the heck are you yelli- SHE'S HERE?!"
"Where is she?!"
"I'll pair with Nym. If she is up there with my bow, I want to recover it. I doubt she is strong enough to pull the string, but If she is... well, pray for us Grunyar, because we'll be sitting ducks." Nick gestures Nym to go with him and heads for the door.
"And what if you try and detect over a group of passengers? Would you know if one of them is using arcane tricks?" Nick looks back to Azrielan, an idea dancing around his mind. "I cant sense that kind of things, not I think you can or Arlan for that matter... but Nym and Akkad maybe are capable." Excited by the possibility of ending this soon and recovering his bow he starts walking around the room. "If they can we could divide in three pairs and go sense passengers. If one of them pings as using magic we check it."
Nick stops and puts his thinking face when the Paracount mentions the halfling's training "Wait. She has arcane abilities? Azrielan couldn't find any trace of chaos where she was and I couldn't smite her so she is neither evil nor a cleric..." His eyes brighten when he arrives at the conclusion: "But she could have disguised herself using her magic! That would explain why she hasn't been seen. Can anybody sense those kind of magic tricks? "
"I will gladly help Azrielan. She even stole my bow, and now that we discovered her she may be crazy enough to try and sink the boat. Look at her journal." Nick handles the journal to the Paracount. "We discovered it among two barrels labeled with "careful do not open" in a secret room in the storage."
"We must go to the Paracount's room now, he is in danger!" Nicks yells while sprinting to the stairs and heading to where the Paracount is.
Yeh yeh, we know. But it may be rigged. Or it may be an actual explosive device. Or the Paracount's dirty underwear. Best not to risk.
"No! Better handle that carefully, for what we know it could be explosives, poison or whatever. I'd rather not damn this boat when it managed to survive the storm." Nick picks up the journal from the ground "What could this be?" And so he reads.
"You are right. Azrielan, as a Hellknight trainee you can feel the chaos in other people's hearts, can you? I tried to bring the judgement of Old Deadeye upon her, but she seemed impervious. I don't think that evil motivates her... but she talked about Calistria. Maybe you can try and sense her if we can't track her."
Ey Molly. Does my craft(carpentry) skills help me check those strange planks in the wall?
"She said something implying she wanted to kill... "that demon loving man". I think she refers to the Paracount."
"Now that we gathered around let's keep it brief and fast so she can't escape."
"She sure had some kind of sonic magic, that's how she took me out." Nick whispers back to him.
"It's been a lot of time since the loud bang? Because I plunged two arrows right through her chest, she couldn't have fled easily... not without a trail of blood at least and carrying my bow, which is bigger than her!" Nicks draws his trusty longsword and shield and looks for blood trails and places where she could have hide.
Even more strangely is that there seems to be another bit of blood further away than he is with two holes in the wood.
"Grunyar... you seadog, I'm glad to see you. Did you catch her? Did you catch the halfling?" Nicks gets a potion out of his bag and drinks it.
"I had to defend myself... disn't want to hurt her. Where is she? Wait. WHERE IS MY BOW? Nicks looks around for her weapon. "And my arrows too... Damned backstabbing child..."
A noble move, anyway. One I was actually going to do, weren't for the fact that she ko'd me.
Hello darkness my old frieeeeend Well, I didn't expect her to heal me after I sticked an arrow half a feet deep in her chest. Now I feel a bit guilty...

Yeah, Azriel, that's what I was going to do... but if I need a quick scan of a tavern I'll just give you the back and problem solved. That said if we get along and work for a common goal, there's no problem with your alignment and mine. ^^ And thanks Arlan! It's 1 in 400. More or less the same chance of me defeating the sneaky halfling now hahahaha

Maybe she just falls unconscious. Hopinh for that. I don't want to get ko'd now, I could get like another 2 crit arrows flying before the end of the day!
Daaaaaaaaaaaamn. Well. At least I got both the first combat, the first critical on our way and the first critical on their way. That's a lot of accomplishments actually.
Hah! Critical fight back.
P.s. I really, really, wholeheartedly didn't want to kill her. Just hurt her a bit into submission. Bow criticals sure are big.
Nick's turn: Nick stumbles back another five feet... "I... I won't surrender... this is my new family, you fiend! And with that final encouragement he lets loose two arrows, more likely a last whisper than a real try to fight back.
Grazze mille signorita! *wink* By the way, I take bets about the outcome of our little encounter. I say I'll get sneak attacked to hell and back... because I can feel it. Guys, pls halp?
Nick's turn: Nick steps 5 feet back fearing a follow up attack and fires two arrows swiftly, aiming to incapacitate the halfling and interrogate her later.
"Goddammit! I don't know what the heck you are talking about!"
I'm okay with not knowing the modifiers. And even if you showed us the pluses... damn she rolled high. By the way, could I ask for a little ooc addendum like "Nick's turn now" or something simmilar whenever you end? I don't want to interrupt you while you write, edit or whatever ^^ Waiting excited!
"You... you are that halfling the Paracount said..." Nick stands up and draws his bow "I mean no harm to you, but I'll take none from you either. I won't allow you that... please stop and reconsider all this madness."
