Male Human Ranger 1

Thanks for letting us know. I'm willing to continue if someone else wants to pick it up, but otherwise I'll see you all around the boards.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa stays by the rope though he is grateful that the rats seemed to have backed away. He helps Sasha back down the rope.

As the others inspect the dias and the tiles, N'gawa watches the tunnels for any signs that the rats may return. Or for anything else that decides to follow them.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa picks himself off the floor where he had fallen, thankful for Tshilaba's spell otherwise he would have surely been covered the the rats. He stands and grabs the rope, waving others toward it. "Let's go! Everybody up!"

Male Human Ranger 1

"Oil and flame is what we need against these, but without them, Tshilaba's right." N'gawa tries to dodge and leap over the rats to get back to the rope.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Nuts.

Male Human Ranger 1

Misha, if you're looking for a suggestion for a replacement feat, I recommend Lingering Performance. I have an Archaeologist Bard too and I'm really looking at that feat to help extend his staying power. Arcane Strike also ain't bad for Bards.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa simply nods at Henry and draws an arrow from his quiver. He smoothly nocks it, draws the bowstring in a swift, but natural motion and releases it at a nearby rat.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa turns to listen to Zababa about the magical trap, when the sound of rushing water and squeals gets his attention. "Henry, what is tha-" He's cut off as the rats and water come out of a hole near the floor.

"Henry, what do we do?! Is it safe to stay?"

Normal rats, not dire rats? And is the water threatening to fill up the chamber or just make our feet wet?

Male Human Ranger 1

Here as well.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa makes a face at the sight of all the rat droppings. "Filthy!" He moves over to the east entrance and holds up the light to examine the ruins of the stairs. He looks to see how far down it is to the next level and whether he can see anything from there.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Male Human Ranger 1

After Henry and Misha are down below, N'gawa takes his turn down the rope. Once down, he picks up the glowing branch Tshilaba had dropped down the hole. He holds it up and walks around the domed room, getting away from the hole in the roof which is letting in the rain.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa peers down into the fissure. Then he looks up at Henry. "I got a rope. I'll lower you down." The hunter goes back into the rock outcropping and comes back with a 50 foot rope. He finds a nearby tree and ties the rope off and drops the free end down the hole.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa comes up behind Misha to peer out from the overhang at Henry looking into the hole in the ground. He looks up at the sky. "That was as close as they get. Be careful, Henry."

Male Human Ranger 1

"Or we simply haven't found their landing spot yet. Maybe it's west of where we landed."

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa nods at Henry's appointed shelter. "Good enough. Let's get out of this storm." He follows Henry.

Male Human Ranger 1

Knowledge, Nature 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

"Agreed. Maybe we return in the evening or another day. Let's keep going and see if we can spot anything else."

Male Human Ranger 1

Perception, take 10 10 + 5 = 15

N'gawa shades his eyes with his hand and he peers out at the wreckage. "Something 'of the Loch'. No, not 'Loch'. 'Lash'. Something 'of the Lash'. 'Kiss of the Lash'! That's the name on the ship out there. Looks like she's taken quite a beating." He points to the island the ship is resting on. "Look, there's a sandbar hidden under the water. We could make our way out there if we wait for the tide to go in. Do you think it still holds anything?"

Perception to judge how long the wreck has been there 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa rises and it's clear the man is still groggy. He stumbles off to make water and clean himself up. When he returns, he's noticeably more awake.

"Aye, a trip into the interior is what I want. I can help track the Captain if we do find evidence of their landing. And I want to see what kind of beasts are on this island."

Male Human Ranger 1

"Unfortunately, Zababa's right. I'm finished for the night. I must have overdone it on the boat." The hunter is still breathing heavily despite sitting down at the fire. Those near him can see a noticeable sluggishness to his movements.

He nods at Misha's words. "We can scout the shore tomorrow and see if we can find signs of where they landed. Or we can scout the interior of the island some."

N'gawa looks at Rafflesia and smiles. "But you are exceptional, my dear. Ieana was not touched by the god of nature as you are. Or so we think. But you are right, she may have a different viewpoint. If she is behind this, then we all underestimated her."

Male Human Ranger 1

Fort Save 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Fatigued

N'gawa whistles in a low tone as possibility comes up at that Captain was magically affected. "You think Ieana's behind all of this? That her intent was to crash the ship just to get on to this island? Wouldn't there be easier ways to do get here? Did Ieana even practice magic? She never stuck me as the type to want to be stranded on an island. She seemed to want to be left alone with her books. And this, " He indicates the island with a sweep of his hand, "is hardly a quiet library."

Male Human Ranger 1

"No, I think he's suggesting you are dusty and dried up." N'gawa grins and laughs.

Male Human Ranger 1

"If you two would like to put on a show in the water, I think it can be arranged." N'gawa grins at the two women as he moves over to help with the canvas. "Someone should look to Alton though. Hopefully those medicines will help him."

Take 20 on Survival 20 + 5 = 25

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa looks at Misha. "You're right. Alton needs that medicine. But we should come back. Who knows that else might be in the larder. It might not just be food."

N'gawa follows them back to the rowboat with the items from the Captain's Cabin. "Everyone ready to go?"

Male Human Ranger 1

"Wait, we still haven't seen the larder! Unless you want that centipede meat to be our only food for the next couple days."

Male Human Ranger 1

"Agreed. Captain's Quarters next." N'gawa helps load the canvas into the boat.

Male Human Ranger 1

Fort Save 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Ha! Eat it, Poison!

N'gawa lifts up a shovel and fishing net, grinning. "These will be worth their weight in gold for us!"

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa enter's the room with a pitied look at the cook's body. He stands behind Zababa to look at the body. Using his swordsword, N'gawa tries to turn the body over to inspect it.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

"This is nasty work, Zab. Poor fellow."

Male Human Ranger 1

Away for the weekend. No posts from me.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa takes another step back and fires another arrow.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa's actions should include a 5 foot step back so he doesn't take an AOO for firing his bow. That should also allow Siera to jump in front of him.

Male Human Ranger 1

"Uuugh!!" N'gawa screams and the stinger pierces his side. He can feel the poison pulsing through his side.

I don't mind either way. It wasn't too bad to have the rolls in the post. If you think it disrupts the flow, you could always put them in the spoiler tag.

Male Human Ranger 1

Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

"Whoa! That's nasty!" At Zababa's encouragement, N'gawa nocks an arrow and fires at the nearest one.

Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Male Human Ranger 1

"I use a bow for a reason, Zab!" The hunter chuckles. "I'll stand back here." He waits for the halfling to open the door with his bow ready.

Male Human Ranger 1

"The larder doesn't concern me too much. It would be nice to have the food, but we can find food on the island. But the supply hold, that could be useful." N'gawa looks at the others. "But that doesn't mean we need to go there now. I'm fine with checking out the Captain's cabin first."

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa follows after Zababa and Henry, stepping lightly. "Watch out, Zababa. Be careful."

Male Human Ranger 1

"I agree with Misha. Let's check out that knocking sound. It could be someone still alive or it could be something coming loose. Either way, let's tend to that first and we can come back for the goodies in the Captain's cabin."

Male Human Ranger 1

"Let's move together. We don't want anyone to fall into the water and not know about it." He gingerly steps onto the deck of the ship, trying to keep his movements light.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa allows Siera and Zababa to dive into the water and waits for them to examine the wreckage.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa looks over the side of the boat to see if he can see anything lying below the water. "Anyone think they can swim in these waters?"

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa walks over to see how the shelter and the boat are coming. He's tearing off pieces of oily meat from a large hunk in his hand. He peers out to the ocean. "Tide's out. If the boat is fixed, we should take it out now to see what we can salvage."

How many can the boat hold?

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa goes to work slaughtering the centipede corpse. Between blood, guts, and the general stench of the meat, very quickly, the others avoid the butchering area. The stinking meat gets cut out in large chunks, which the hunter assures everyone is safe to eat. He even takes several of the smaller centipede's plates and fits them into his own leather armor, though as added protection or as decoration, you're not sure.

By the hour's end, he is covered in gore and has several piles of meat cut from the bug. He covers each one with a cloth. "It would probably be good if we cooked much of this tonight." He begins making a large fire to roast the foul meat.

Male Human Ranger 1

Sense Motive 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

N'gawa looks up at the sky as the storm ends. Then he turns to the others. "I think we should make the shelter and the longboat the priorities. If we can salvage other things from the Jenivere, then we'll have a better idea of what we might need from the jungle. We have a few stores of food now, and as unappetizing as it might sound, Sasha's right. We might be able to get some meat out of this bug here.

"Siera, why don't you get a team together to help with the boat. Another group can work on the shelter and I'll see what I can salvage out of this corpse." He walks over to the centipede corpse and starts trying to butcher it with his dagger and shortsword to see if there's any usable meat.

Survival 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Male Human Ranger 1

"When this rain clears up, we can look at repairing the longboat. I don't know how long that will take, but at least we can evaluate our options while Tshilaba is scouting with his bird. Does anyone have carpentry skills?"

Male Human Ranger 1

"Until that armor of yours all starts to rusts!" N'gawa chuckles as he sees the dwarf standing out in the rain. The hunter has unstrung his bow again and dried off the bowstring before placing it back into the pouch. He looks up at the sky, hoping the rain will not last all night.

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa curses as he sees the centipede rear up and hiss at many of the others. Disregarding Siera's words, he smoothly draws an arrow and launches it at the beast, trying not to hit any of those fighting it. Afterward, he takes steps back to put some distance between himself and it.

Ranged Attack within 30 feet into melee 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa grabs the old longbow and a quiver of arrows, then jumps out of the side of the shelter. He circles around and pulls a bowstring out of a waterproof pouch, cursing as he exposes it to the rain. He strings the longbow and then begins making large motions with his arms. Those watching realize he's trying to cause the centipede to see him as a larger threat.

Wild Empathy check to scare the beast off 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Initiative, if needed 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Male Human Ranger 1

No worries. That's one of the interesting changes with Pathfinder.

N'gawa looks at Tshilaba when he offers to use his bird to scout."Perhaps just send her up and back down at first. She could spot something interesting just doing that. Afterward maybe have her follow the coast line. There could be other things on the beach nearby."

Male Human Ranger 1

0-level spells are at will, so you should be able to create as much water as we'd ever need, right?

Male Human Ranger 1

N'gawa huddles under the shelter with the others. He keeps an eye out for any holes or other signs of the construction unraveling in the face of rain and winds. While he hates the idea of hiding from simple rain, he knows the damage excess exposure to simple rainwater can do, especially if it continues for days. Tucked into his pants is a waterproof pouch he found on the beach, and it protects the bowstrings that he managed to dry out from the moisture of the rain.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spots Jask still wearing the chains. "Oh for f!!@'s sake, Vargbrandr. Strike the chains. I don't care if he's lying or not. Where is he going to run off to? What is he going to steal? We're probably going to need him sooner or later too."
