When you lovely Paizo folks tried to send my August subscription at the end of July, there was an issue with my debit card. It's been resolved, but now 75% of what was going to be in that box has sold out (I pre-ordered a LOT of Starfinder). I was wondering what the protocol is in this exact situation? Will part of my order ship? Will the whole thing wait until the sold-out items are back in stock (meaning a potentially even BIGGER box in September)? Please know that this isn't intended as a complaint, just curious what to look forward to so I can plan accordingly. Thanks for all of your hard work!

First: Sorry if this is the wrong message board section, but it seemed like the best fit. Second: Sorry, since I know this is a pretty common topic to come up. That said, wasn't there an "unofficial fix" from the developer/freelancer who wrote the archetype? Because despite how common the subject is, I hasn't able to find it (I'm notorious for rolling nat 1s on search checks). Any help is appreciated. :)

^Is there any combination of feats, archetypes etc that would allow this to be feasible? This is mostly for curiosity's sake, so I have no restrictions about 3rd party stuff and weird races. Would some combination of Titan Mauler barbarian & Titan Fighter...fighter work? A magic weapon property that I'm not remembering? Like I said, this is just for fun,m so please, go nuts. :)

A friend & I have a weekly game where it is just the two of us. We take turns running AP volumes for each other. She has offered to run a module for me if I would like to to participate in this playtest. And while yes, I very much would, I understand this game is not designed for solo adventuring so I'm not sure if I could give the design team anything worthwhile. I specifically remember an interview with SKR where he was having an interaction during the ACG playtest. The person was trying to point out that the brawler was terrible by using several outlandish encounters where said brawler was the only PC (such as fighting a bunch of flying monsters without a means of flight). Now while I doubt my friend would create any ridiculous encounters, I don't want to provide a tale where my vigilante dies but wouldn't have if he had a wizard or cleric buddy like the game expects.

So I talked to the GM from one of my groups to let me playtest the new classes. I picked bloodrager, with a level of brawler (and the GM gave me a level of Dragon Disciple for story reasons, but it didn't really come into play mechanically). Now, due to other issues with the session (rule questions, player/GM arguments), I don't feel I collected that much in terms of raw mechanical data. I know my ranged touch attack spells (acid arrow, scorching ray) never missed, but I don't know if the lowered AC causes any issue because I was never attacked. However, I can tell you this: This class was so much FUN to play. :D I was an angelkin aasimar with the abyssal bloodline. That's the kind of thing I eat up with a spoon. And the look on everyone's faces when I finally got to bloodrage and grew to large size...I wish I had the camera in my phone ready. I also ended up role-playing him as always struggling to keep the rage in check and that he could lose control at any time. The character became "real" for me when another one of the players was possessed by a sword that increased his aggression. I had Tobias march up to him, attempt to disarm and say something along the lines of "Your 'rage' offends me. You're doing it wrong. Would you like to see what real rage is?" I failed both the disarm and intimidate check, but both the the player possessed and one of the other players seemed a little freaked out. Tobias was so much fun to play that after game was called, I talked it over with the group and he is going to be my new permanent character for the campaign. So in terms of mechanics and balance, I don't think this session was very useful. I don't think Tobias was beyond the power of the standard 14th level character with appropriate gear, but I'm hardly an expert in those areas, and I haven't played many casters. However, in terms of role play....this is one of my new favorite classes. I've seen a lot of comments in the various threads that "new class X makes old class Y obsolete," and maybe it's true in terms of mechanics, but do the people making these comments take flavor and role play into consideration? I know I could have built a barbarian build that had very similar abilities, or a combat focused sorcerer, but it wouldn't have worked as well thematically. In fact, one of my very first characters was a barbarian/sorcerer mutli-class that was basically trying to do what the bloodrager does, and it didn't work too well. In any case, I hope this thread proves useful in some way. If anyone has any questions about the specific build, feel free to ask and I'll answer. In closing, thanks to Jason and the design team for a wickedly fun class. I'm looking forward to seeing it evolve as the playtest continues.

Are there any two fighter archetypes that can be applied to one character? I realize this is tricky because the fighter doesn't have many class features outside the bonus feats and the archetypes tend to replace...well, all of them, but can such a build exist? I was really hoping that a lore warden could also be a weapon master, but that proved impossible pretty darn quick.

So, I was a big fan of "Blood Of The Night." I was disappointed that dhampirs weren't the focus at first, but I found the vampire information to be a really great read. And yes, I'm hoping to find a game where I can play one some day. Which brings me to my current issue. The vampire entry in the first Bestiary and the pages on moroi in "Blood Of The Night" mention sleeping in coffins during the day, but I'm not finding any solid *rules* on that part of being a vampire. Do you *have* to sleep in a coffin? What happens at sunrise? Do you just need to avoid direct sunlight, or do you "shut down" at daybreak like in some vampire fiction? Do you need to rest for 8 hours like a living PC to avoid fatigue and all that? Do the other breeds of vampire have coffins to worry about too? Are they vulnerable to sunlight as well? Any chance I have to play a vampire is still a long way off (if it ever happens), but I'm just academically curious at this point. Any help is appreciated, even if it's just pointing me toward the book with the right information. :)

A friend and I are looking for ways to continue gaming while our "Reign Of Winter" GM is on night shift (yes, two person party). I mentioned how the Mythic rules may make it possible to solo an Adventure Path (at least that's what Paizo staffers said in the various announcements). Did anyone actually try that? If so, how did it work out?

Hello all! So while me and my wife were doing so cleaning/organizing around the house, we discovered that we have ab extra Adventure Path volume! It's #15, "Second Darkness Part 3: The Armageddon Echo." Seeing as we don't need it, my wife were wondering if anyone here would be willing to make a trade? I know "Second Darkness" has a bad rap around these parts, but as someone whose played in some of it and read through all of it, I really dig it. And even if you don't like the AP as a whole or this particular adventure, this volume has some great support articles and great monsters in the Bestiary. And as for what I'm willing to trade for, well, basically any AP volume that I don't have. Here's a list of what I need: Kingmaker:
Council Of Thieves:
Serpent's Skull:
My extra copy of AP #15 is in pretty good condition. The bottom corner is slightly warped so that it doesn't stay closed, but other than that it looks good. Anyway, if your interested, let me know and we can work out the details from there. :) |
