Way to necro a dead thread, and go completely off topic... start a new thread.... lol.

Completely off topic?

Kitsune/Nagaji/Wayang was on a chronicle sheet originally that was a convention boon. Only back in August of 2014 did those three races come off of "Boon-Only". So if another race rotation happened, and any of these three races were removed my question was "What would replace them that was originally Boon Only".

Also if I wanted to be off topic I would be talking about "Cold Running" when running a Scenario as a GM for PFS with little to none preparation time. Plus this thread has already been necro by others in the past.

Then comes the standing of the individual, their reputation.

An archeologist would have a reputation as an upstanding member of society who is celebrated.

A grave robber would have a reputation as a dishonorable member of society who is reviled.

So basically - the archeologist has better PR?

(So tempted to make references to other societal equivelents - but I will refrain.)

Yep the archeologist would have better PR than the Grave Robber.

Would you trust the Gnome Archeologist who has a good reputation for doing his job and trying to safely preserve lost artifacts to be put in museums... or the Dwarf Grave Robber who has a reputation for selling such artifacts on the black market for personal profit and tends to defile the resting place of the dead?
(Race is interchangeable, even replaceable by different races)

Its purely intent and how the world views the individual.

A grave robber takes from the dead from a mixed perception in the form of "Fame, Wealth". Fame in this case can also be related to "Bragging Rights".

A archeologist takes from the dead from a mixed perception in the form of "Knowledge, Preservation". Not that Archeologists don't get paid, but that isn't the soul reason an Archeologist does what he does. Its more about a sense of intrigue and understanding ancient/old cultures.

Sometimes being a grave robber and being an archeologist goes hand in hand depending on the motive of the individual "Fame, Preservation, Wealth". Fame and Knowledge are the most interchangeable here which again depends on the motive and intent of the individual.

You can play the game as an "Adult" that is technically 1 year away from Middle Aged as a Human from my experience (Age 34 going to Age 35). So you could feasibly in 1-year later within the game age to middle age at Age 35 for being a Human.

You also can technically play a human Teen/Kid within Pathfinder (Age 8-14) who then becomes an adult (Age 15). However your also restricted to NPC classes while you are a young character (Adept, Aristocrat, Expert, Warrior, Commoner)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Immortality = You don't die from aging. However, you will look old.

Invulnerable = You can't be harmed. Period.

Eternal Youth = You can still be harmed and you can still die when your lifespan runs out, but at least you will be the most good looking corpse for your actual age.

Variant Abilities table (1-100)

#16: "You have over-sized limbs, allowing you to use Large weapons without penalty."

If all else fails, you can always ask your GM/allow player to play as a Dhampir Alchemist (Archetype: Internal Alchemist).

Dhampir: Heal off of negative energy. Hurt by positive energy.

At 1st level an Alchemist of the IA archetype can control their breathing so they can appear dead and motionless. They also can go twice as long without food or water this way.

Preserve Organs (Discovery): 25/50/75% chance to negate a Critical Attack/Sneak Attack and have damage rolled normally instead. (Per discovery invested into Preserve Organs)

Mummification (Discovery): The alchemist becomes immune to cold, nonlethal damage, sleep, and paralysis. (10th level)

the IA archetype also allows an Alchemist who reaches level 10 to not only be immune to Poison but to Disease as well.

At sixth level a IA also gains Uncanny Dodge.

Racial feats for the [Half-Mummy] exotic race.

Aura of Despair
Requirements: [Half-Mummy], Level 9
A [Half-Mummy] may use the supernatural Despair ability exactly like that which she is descended from. The duration of this ability is equal to the [Half-Mummy]'s Charisma Modifier (minimum 0) per minute for how long it can be used per day. This ability must be spent in 1-minute increments.

(Despair rules: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/undead/mummy)

Touch of the Cursed
Requirements: [Half-Mummy], Aura of Despair, Level 11
The [Half-Mummy]'s true heritage begins to show through for the notorious disease that her progentior is known for. A [Half-Mummy] may now apply Mummy Rot to their touch attacks and unarmed attacks. This ability is a supernatural ability that requires a Move Action to activate it and can only be used 2/Day. At 15th level this ability can now be used 3/Day and becomes a Swift Action to activate. At 20th level this ability now can be used 4/Day and becomes a Free Action to activate it.

Yep same reasoning for Spirit Whisperer.

"(aka, no figment but everything else)" So spirit animals can't get the Figment archetype? Interesting. Makes sense as well seeing as how as a Shaman you kind of need your Spirit Animal to prepare spells/regain spells.

Thank you Mark Seifter and Geoking for the quick replies. :)

Does a Spirit Animal count as a Familiar when regarding Feats/Archetypes/ec?
