I... actually kind of don't like the new kobolds, personally. They look weirdly... toad-like? I don't know. I always liked the spindly, thin design of kobolds, these guys actually look fairly muscular for being so small, I always imagined them scrabbling around and up walls on all fours like geckos, almost, and I thought the thinner snout looked better than the... I guess turtle-like head?
Also, and I know this was by no means a consistent trait in art, but I really liked the sort of ear frills or fins they have in the odd picture. I always imagine them with those, even though they aren't really common. I just like the visual of them moving those things around based on fear or aggression or alertness, or whatever, kind of like dog ears.
Kobolds. A way better monster race to add than goblins, IMHO. And more interesting; you could certainly make them +Dex/+Cha, -Str, because Charisma is often considered the "dragon" stat and kobolds are known for their sorcerers, but I think +Int fits kobolds better and is more unique. I just really want kobolds that are balanced with the other races!
Tengu. I just like 'em a lot.
Orcs. I'm not like, super interested in orcs, but honestly I think they need to be Core. Then we'd have humans and halflings, elves and gnomes, orcs and goblins, and dwarves as their weird part-medium, part-small thing. They'd also be good because no Core ancestry has a natural Strength boost or an Intelligence flaw, so they're unique in both ways! +Str/+Wis, -Int, probably!
