Yes. I intend to. I doubt she has any talent for magic...or the fortitude for martial training...and she's likely to back away from it, immediately. Still, if she has the talent, she deserves a chance. Freedom...especially the freedom to determine one's own future means so much to me...I can't just sit there and do nothing if that's being smothered. Morsai sits up for a moment. Still...I hope it's just the angst of youth.

Ok...look...I'll see if you can learn magic. If you have the talent for it, I'll teach you what I can...not that I'm any sort of great instructor...but...if we go to deal with dragons tomorrow...you have to stay behind...and hope I survive...because if either one of us dies, the deal is off. Oh, and if you learn a little, and decide to go...'find adventure'...on your own...the deal is off...you wait until I don't think you're gonna die the first time you find an unruly orc...you do what I...or one of the wiser in the group..,say. That is...if you have magic talent...or can learn mundane fighting, I suppose. Morsai sighs and lays down...convinced he just made a huge mistake.

No...right now, we're about to sleep in a hayloft, a wondrous prize for maybe being willing to get ourselves killed if we aren't remarkably resourceful...and lucky. Such...glamour... Morsai extends his arm in a gesture meant to show off the acvomodations... Chelish wine? I think I.may have some ale that hasn't soured...

Diplomacy, he says. :p Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 5 That's what we're being asked to do...now...I'm not afraid of orcs or goblins...I could take down an ogre on my own with no concern...and we're definitely more powerful as a group...knowing what we're going into definitely helps...but we've never tackled a dragon before.

Morsai chuckles...Mere cantrips. Useful, still... Morsai looks on the ceiling and upper walls, for any soot or what have you...then uses Prestidigitation to clean it spotless. The powerful magic we save for dangerous situations. Nice card trick, by the way, Navarro...you might have to teach me that...

He was originally set up for a WotR campaign...but he wouldn't be far from his sister...she's in...whatever city is appropriate. Yes...I know some magic. Morsai traces a quick symbol in the air and speaks an arcane word, casting Mage Hand...which he uses to casually draw his mug into his hand, then drinks.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Morsai finds himself noticing things he doesn't usually notice.

In general, I'd agree with you. If someone told me orcs were attacking, I'd be out through the door without asking questions...but I'd rather know in advance if they had giants with them. He says there are plenty of witnesses...if five minutes could be the difference between life and death, I can be a bit more patient than usual.

Morsai watches Shol as she speaks before turning to the gentleman. Two dragons? Adult, I assume...or siblings? A single dragon is a terrifying challenge, and you ask us to go after...two? I assume you have resources we can draw upon? Morsai watches the man, skeptical at such va proposition...but not uninterested. |
