male human Magus 4

...waiting...

male human Magus 4

Morsai feels trapped in the moment...

male human Magus 4

Morsai glances for Brena, not expecting to see her too close, and makes preparations to leave.

male human Magus 4

Morsai nods.

male human Magus 4

I've decided to speak with someone who's seen these dragons first hand.

Morsai leaves little room for argument, there.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

male human Magus 4

Yes. I intend to. I doubt she has any talent for magic...or the fortitude for martial training...and she's likely to back away from it, immediately. Still, if she has the talent, she deserves a chance. Freedom...especially the freedom to determine one's own future means so much to me...I can't just sit there and do nothing if that's being smothered.

Morsai sits up for a moment.

Still...I hope it's just the angst of youth.

male human Magus 4

Ok...look...I'll see if you can learn magic. If you have the talent for it, I'll teach you what I can...not that I'm any sort of great instructor...but...if we go to deal with dragons tomorrow...you have to stay behind...and hope I survive...because if either one of us dies, the deal is off. Oh, and if you learn a little, and decide to go...'find adventure'...on your own...the deal is off...you wait until I don't think you're gonna die the first time you find an unruly orc...you do what I...or one of the wiser in the group..,say. That is...if you have magic talent...or can learn mundane fighting, I suppose.

Morsai sighs and lays down...convinced he just made a huge mistake.

male human Magus 4

No...right now, we're about to sleep in a hayloft, a wondrous prize for maybe being willing to get ourselves killed if we aren't remarkably resourceful...and lucky. Such...glamour...

Morsai extends his arm in a gesture meant to show off the acvomodations...

Chelish wine? I think I.may have some ale that hasn't soured...

male human Magus 4

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 11

male human Magus 4

Ever killed anything that fought back? Look...if you want your freedom...I'm willing to help. It's...an important thing to me...it's...personal...but...not just to see you die.

Morsai softens...If I could only...do the same...for my own sister...

male human Magus 4

It might make a lovely epitath. Let's try and avoid that.

Morsai, more and more, is finding himself in a...rough mood.

male human Magus 4

Ah...lovely.

Morsai mutters, but keeps his thoughts to himself.

male human Magus 4

Story?

Morsai looks a bit confused...

male human Magus 4

Diplomacy, he says. :p

Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 5

That's what we're being asked to do...now...I'm not afraid of orcs or goblins...I could take down an ogre on my own with no concern...and we're definitely more powerful as a group...knowing what we're going into definitely helps...but we've never tackled a dragon before.

male human Magus 4

No. I don't know that we can do it.

Morsai looks her directly in the eye, and slowly shakes his head.

male human Magus 4

Not everybody has the potential to learn magic...and it can take years...and then...most that do, never fight dragons. I've never fought one...and I doubt any of my companions have...most that go up against dragons become...tasty dragon snacks.

male human Magus 4

Hmmm. Where there is dragon treasure...and 'adventure'...there is likely danger...possible death...and likely...dragons.

Morsai cocks an eyebrow and looks her over again, deciding that she's far more pleasant alive...

male human Magus 4

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Morsai opens the window...I'm guessing there's more to the story?

male human Magus 4

Hmmm...the two of you should be enough. No need to terrify the poor girl...

Morsai relaxes, and waits for their return.

male human Magus 4

Something seemed...not quite on the...up-and-up to begin with. I've wondered if they aren't looking for sacrifices for these dragons...

Morsai sits on a cot and puts a keen edge on his scimitar as he speaks.

male human Magus 4

Morsai will tuck in for the night...all too familiar with the floor of a dozen inns...

male human Magus 4

You've seen them?

Again, Morsai watches her reaction...

male human Magus 4

We're supposed to be going...after dragons. A pair of them...

Morsai watches for her response...

male human Magus 4

I know Golarion reasonably well...Absolom makes a decent home city, being much closer than Kenabres...

male human Magus 4

Morsai applauds and smiles.

male human Magus 4

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Seeing it, he appreciates the skill even more, and simply grins.

male human Magus 4

The cantrips aren't hard to learn, once you understand the basics. That can take time...

Morsai keeps watching Navarro's trick...unsure if he's using real magic or not...but appreciating the entertainment.

male human Magus 4

Morsai chuckles...Mere cantrips. Useful, still...

Morsai looks on the ceiling and upper walls, for any soot or what have you...then uses Prestidigitation to clean it spotless.

The powerful magic we save for dangerous situations. Nice card trick, by the way, Navarro...you might have to teach me that...

male human Magus 4

He was originally set up for a WotR campaign...but he wouldn't be far from his sister...she's in...whatever city is appropriate.

Yes...I know some magic.

Morsai traces a quick symbol in the air and speaks an arcane word, casting Mage Hand...which he uses to casually draw his mug into his hand, then drinks.

male human Magus 4

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Morsai finds himself noticing things he doesn't usually notice.
After watching Navarro with her for a moment, he pulls out the chair next to himself. Why don't you come join us for a while...if that would be...acceptable...

male human Magus 4

Damn world cup... ;)

male human Magus 4

Morsai looks it over...then climbs aboard.

male human Magus 4

In general, I'd agree with you. If someone told me orcs were attacking, I'd be out through the door without asking questions...but I'd rather know in advance if they had giants with them. He says there are plenty of witnesses...if five minutes could be the difference between life and death, I can be a bit more patient than usual.

male human Magus 4

Whoa...I would like to meet...a reliable...eyewitness. First.

male human Magus 4

Morsai drains his mug, stands, and gathers himself. Now would be better than later, then.

male human Magus 4

Morsai looks oddly at Shol for a moment, then turns back to the gentleman...Have they done anything? Do they feed off of the herds? Who is an eyewitness? We'll definitely need to talk to them...

male human Magus 4

So I ask again...just how big are these dragons? I'm in no mood to die, today...

Morsai looks the man directly in the eye.

male human Magus 4

Morsai watches Shol as she speaks before turning to the gentleman.

Two dragons? Adult, I assume...or siblings? A single dragon is a terrifying challenge, and you ask us to go after...two? I assume you have resources we can draw upon?

Morsai watches the man, skeptical at such va proposition...but not uninterested.

male human Magus 4

That depends on whether or not you have expenses...and unfortunately, I do.

Morsai glances up...for just a moment.

male human Magus 4

I'm hoping it was synonymous with 'profitable'.

Morsai pulls out a dagger and aimlessly scratches at the table with it.

male human Magus 4

Morsai suddenly sours...Just a sister.

Slugging down his drink, Morsai taps the table with a coin to get the barmaid's attention, nods, and drops the coin on the table. A gold.

Keep drinks coming to this table until it's gone.

male human Magus 4

Morsai shrugs...Rain can run late from time to time...but then...it's the night of the new moon...he's got hours. Pull up a seat and let's lie to each other for a while.

Morsai smirks and takes a long pull from his ale.

male human Magus 4

Say...do you have...a brother?

Morsai looks closely at Navarro...making out family resemblance by firelight isn't the easiest task...

male human Magus 4

Morsai strolls in and orders a pint...Bloody hell, centaurs? I hope they pay the help that cleans up at night...in gold.

male human Magus 4

Yo.

Present and accounted for.

male human Magus 4

I think something is better than nothing.

...and sooner, rather than later, before it fades away.

male human Magus 4

<== Running three.

male human Magus 4

Wow, what an intro.

I'm not immediately opposed to the possibility...

male human Magus 4

Hello, Antonio...

Morsai chuckles...
