Moonstep continues to circulate among the crowd, listening for whispers and hints of what's to come. Her stomach rumbles once again as the smell of food wafts in her direction. She decided to move in the direction of the food vendors. If nothing else, perhaps they could tell her something, and besides, if things went bad, it would do her no good to fight on an empty stomach.

She glided through the crowd, watching as she went and listening. One of the meat pie vendors was an old gossip she'd known all her life. Perhaps he knew something or had seen the person the others were looking for.

I did trade it out as I couldn't access the racial traits, lol.

"I dunno if we're gonna see much up here.", I comment to the dwarf. "A sea of heads and hats, with that one,", pointing to the half-orc, "moving like a thundercloud in the midst. I watched a moment more thinking, "This is getting me nowhere. I need to get down and move among them and find one of the street brats. If anyone can find this person, it's one of the kids.
I made a staying motion with my hand, "Stay here, friend. I think I know a way to find your 'one glove' person. I think he was wanting to ask me questions as I jumped down, but, I didn't really think there was time for explanations. I headed smoothly into the crowd, looking for one of the Thieves Guild children I knew would be taking advantage of the opportunity.

I notice the fighter pause for a moment and then turn around. He heads for one of the food carts and I again am reminded of how long ago I broke my fast. My stomach rumbles embarrassingly loud and I am glad my hood hides the flush of my face.

I will help my erstwhile companion search for this person wearing one glove

A man with one black glove. How strange., thought Moonstep. It did nothing to ease the feeling of imminent disaster that plagued her. Still, it gave her something solid to focus on rather than aimlessly searching through the crowd for something she could only feel.
She also kept a part of her attention on the man approaching her boulder. Rather than a sense of warning she felt his presence more as another piece of a puzzle. There was more yet to come, she knew; her premonition was still tingling at the back of her neck.

While watching for the dwarfs' person of interest, Moonstep also kept an eye out for his little companion. She had just reassured herself that the little halfling was still on her rounds when she saw something that stopped her cold. Her jaw dropped and she touched the dwarfs' arm as she stared in disbelief. An Orc... no, she amended, a half-orc. Who could miss her standing head and shoulders above nearly everyone in the crowd. A young half-orc female, unescorted by guards, or anyone else, for that matter. The thought raced through her head even as her mouth refused to say the words. An oddity that could attract all the wrong attention. "Bloody blazes!", she swore softly. Again the back of her neck set to tingling intensely. "Another piece of this thrice bedamned puzzle.", she muttered.

I'm replying to this ooc because I'm joking and not meaning it to be a part of the RP: "You mean that guy over there posed with one hand on his crotch and the other on his hat?" ::giggles::

if you type [dice=perception] 1d20 + your perception bonus [/ dice] it will automatically do your perception roll for you. Mine (as you can see above is 10, so you would put whatever your bonus number is where I typed "your perception bonus". I put spaces in there so it would show as typed, so eliminate all spaces

I don't see the Sword Singer class. They converted a lot of old special and prestige classes to Pathfinder eventually, so it might be called something else. Depends on its original source and if Paizo could get permission to use it, blah blah legal stuff blah blah. :)

And you played 2nd Edition? THAC0 and all that? Hard core! 3.0 and 3.5 were better, but the change to d20 was a big one. I grew up on AD&D with D6's. Back in my day, we didn't have d20's! We had d6's and we were happy to have 'em!

*shakes cane*

LOL yep THACO and all that. Bobs campaign had been running for 14 years when I joined it 10 years ago. :D It's still running. He did allow the D20 dice, though. He considered the Sword Singer class to be OP and wouldn't allow anyone to be a Sword Singer. I think it's because someone did have one once and he couldn't kill it. ;) lol

I played a game called Timelines that was being created as we played it back in '86 & 87. It was very like D&D except you could travel through time, so it got really different at times. At one point we went back in time and brought back viable dinosaur eggs to hatch for "pets". ;) Got a little weird when we went way forward in time once. D&D type people like elves, dwarves, drow and half-dragon or cat people were a bit of an anomaly in the year 7689. >.<
I gave up my catwoman, though when the DM kept giving me fleas. /sigh

Moonstep continues to watch the crowd with a growing sense of anxiety. There are too many people and too many discordant voices. The back of her neck now tingles with a premonition that screams DANGER at her.

Does Pathfinder allow the class Sword Singer?
That class was one explicitly forbidden by my old DM when I played D&D. Of course he also refused to use anything but D&D 2. 3.5 was out then and he didn't like the new rules and additions, lol. Oh, did I mention he's a rather sadistic DM? My rogue, Kira, was one of the very few characters to survive his campaigns for more than a few months. She lasted 2 yrs and finally met her end as a stone statue of a bat.

Moonstep noticed a man in fighter garb moving toward her boulder with purpose and swore silently. Ye Gods and little fishes! She looked around for another good vantage point and saw nothing but a smaller boulder next to the one she stood on, but it didn't stand as tall. She sighed internally when nothing else but trees and benches met her search. Since when have I become so visible? She sighed again, More like it's the boulder and vantage point one like him is seeking. She nudged the tall dwarf, nodded slightly toward the approaching man and moved over. It was a good thing this was a very large boulder or it would be getting very crowded soon.

female Half Elven Rogue/Bard lvl 1 Bard 1 Init +3, Perception +10; F +2, R +5, W +1; +2 vs. enchantments; immune: sleep; HP 11/11

Moonstep noticed the tall dwarf moving in her direction and watched him curiously. His tiny friend wasn't with him. As he drew closer she looked for another place to blend in and was startled when he addressed her directly. Looking down at him from under her hood, the hair rose again on the back of her neck from premonition. Nodding slightly, she stepped to the side, giving him room to clamber up beside her.

Just a note here. Since Moonstep has her hood mostly covering her face, no one not from the area and familiar with her would know she is half-elven. Only her small size might give her away as even female, though most would probably assume she is a boy.

As he came up beside her she spoke in a soft, low voice, "What manner of person are you looking for?

female Half Elven Rogue/Bard lvl 1 Bard 1 Init +3, Perception +10; F +2, R +5, W +1; +2 vs. enchantments; immune: sleep; HP 11/11

Moonstep wrapped her cloak tighter and pulled the hood lower over her face. From her vantage point atop a boulder along a wall she watched, her casual stance belying her growing nervousness to anyone who happened to notice her.Her eyes moved from the citizens to the guards and back, a part of her mind noting the children and hoping they'd be quickly out of the way if the whole situation went bad. They'd be trampled in the panic or outright slaughtered by uncaring militia or guards.

Odors of cooking food wafted toward her, a reminder that breakfast was hours gone. The presence of the food vendors irked her, "[i]Fools.[i/]", she thought. "[i]What good is your silver if your life is forfeit this day?[i/]" The premonition she felt earlier raised the hair at the back of her neck this time. Once again she spotted the tall dwarf and tiny halfling in the crowd and wondered what brought such an odd couple here.

As she kept watch she unobtrusively checked her inventory once again, sleeve daggers and boot daggers in place, stilettos in their sheathes under her hair. The rapier at her waist was loosed and ready should she need it. The small crossbow and bolts attached at her back would slip into her hands with a light pull. "[i]I really should pick up a blowgun. I can make the poisons easily enough. It would come in handy sometimes.[i/]", she mused to herself.

Sorry I was AWOL yesterday. My question regarding splitting into teams or doing 2 groups is: How much work is required for YOU as GM for one vs the other? Which way is easiest on you? I'm good with either way you all decide.

female Half Elven Rogue/Bard lvl 1 Bard 1 Init +3, Perception +10; F +2, R +5, W +1; +2 vs. enchantments; immune: sleep; HP 11/11

I rewrote it. /sigh I suppose it wasn't such a bad thing. I think I got it even better this time. :D This time I wrote it in an open office document and saved it. lol
I use Firefox browser, though my husband prefers Chrome. See what you think. ;)

edit: and yeah. I've been writing for a long time. I KNOW better than to not do a copy and save before I click finished on a browser doc! lol

And, I know it's a long one, but I couldn't help myself. I spent some time fleshing out Moonsteps' back story. I may have to make some changes somewhere, as her cloak could be considered magical, so, either she doesn't use it, or her mother gives it to her later in the campaign when she can use something magical. She is wearing a cloak, but I've not given any properties to it.

edit: I just lost 2 hours worth of writing. Apparently I took too long writing it and timed out. omg, I'm going to cry!
