![]() Hi all, and sorry if this is in the wrong place. I recently had a player start in my Age of Worms Golarion game. In my game, I'm using contacts and factions quite a bit, and the player ended up being an adventurer for the Knights of Ozem. I had thought (incorrectly) that there was already a pre-made Faction for the Knight of Ozem, however there was not. Recently I put one together, and wanted some feedback on it. Link is here If the above doesn't work, I'll just post it here, if that's okay. ![]()

![]() Hi there, In order 1772326 I pre-ordered the Pathfinder Adventure Path: Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition (PFRPG) Hardcover. Since then, you have put up the special edition, and I'm interested in purchasing it instead. Is there anyway I can switch one for the other, or is it too late? Thanks! ![]()

![]() Hi, I'm a little confused as to the rules on the following ability, specifically where I've bolded it. Advanced Race Guide wrote:
As I understand it, your Eidolan gains the evolution for free, however you have to pay the Evolution Pool cost to use the new spells? Or do you gain the first evolution for free and then each one you pay extra for? ![]()

![]() Hi all, So far for all of the APs I've run I've painted the last boss miniature. I'm about to start Legacy of Fire once Kingmaker ends. I want to paint up the last boss for Legacy of Fire, however from looking through the Reaper minis, he hasn't been made yet. It'll be a few months before I need something, however I was wondering: 1) Has anyone heard anything about an upcoming Jhavhul miniature? (I'm reaching, I know) 2) What have others used for this mini (assuming that you did use something)? ![]()

![]() Hi all, I'm currently trying to find a way to pick the next campaign I'm running. I've run Rise of the Runelords of the Runelords, Curse and Kingmaker. I have 6 different campaigns I can choose to run: (I finished converting these three to 3.p and Golarian recently)
In order to figure out which to run, I've talked with my gaming group. They are pretty good usually at saying what they would like to play, however this time the abundance of options mixed with their general lack of knowledge of the APs has left us mired in "anything's good" type choices. I could make the decision myself, however I still like to have some direction before I do. So I created the following 3 questions to help tease out which they'd like to play. Please rank the following backdrop cultures that you would like to see in the next campaign I run, with 1 being the one you'd like to see the most, and 7 being the one you'd like to see the least Note that we'll be playing Golarian, so when I say "Arabian Nights", I don't mean a fictitious Middle East set in our world, I mean cultures in Golarian based on these ideas (such as Quadira) A. Arabian Nights
and here's how I'm rating the scores for this question: Q1 Legend
What themes would you like to see in the next campaign I run? Please rank the following themes that you would like to see in the next campaign I run, with 1 being the one you'd like to see the most, and 6 being the one you'd like to see the least. A. Romeo-esque Undead Swarm (Swarm Horror)
Q2 Legend
The following are 6 adventure paths I own that I'm considering running next. Based on what you've heard and your own experiences/information/preferences, I'd like you to rank these APs, with 1 being the adventure path you'd most like me to run next , and 6 being the adventure path you'd like me to run next the least (yeah, that's awkward wording, sorry Adam). Legacy of Fire
What I'm wondering: Did I miss anything? Did I tie in all the elements correctly? Is there anything glaring I should take into account? I asked about preferred alignment and classes, however that didn't really give too much information as I had hoped. ![]()

![]() Hi, I hope I put this in the right section. I'm currently running a Kingmaker game. One of my players is playing a half-orc ranger with the natural weapon fighting style, and after reading some of the posts on the boards, found out about Feral Combat Training and how it would help his character. He's going to take some levels of Monk (after building a garrison and starting his own "school") and look into the Feral Combat Training Feat for his claws and his teeth (half-orc with the "toothy" trait). He noticed that there weren't any monk archetypes or new rules that allowed Monks to take Feral Combat Training or the new Style feats as monk bonus feats. He's asked if I can house rule it so he can take Feral Combat Training as a bonus feat. Part of me thinks "no worries, a feats a feat", and he's willing to take all of the prerequisites, so that's pretty good. The other part thinks "they didn't give style feats or feral combat training as monk bonus feats for a reason". Can someone help? ![]()

![]() Hi, I know that it's not in the core rule book, and that it may eventually be covered in the Epic Level Pathfinder book, however I'm converting some old adventures to 3.P, and this came up. Assuming medium progression, I came to 3,280,000. I based it on the pattern that goes through the XP Chart (200, 200, 400, 400, 800, 800, etc.). Does that sound correct? ![]()

![]() Hi all, The good news: My friend is planning on running a campaign (Second Darkness) in the next while and I'm one of the players. Also lucky for me, I am one of those easy going people and I would have fun playing any of the classes listed in the APG/UM/UC/Core. So far the other players are planning on being: Tibbit Bard (updated to 3.p, for now just consider it a halfling) (will center on being a face and helping heal) Elf Rogue/Assassin Human Fighter (Melee) And either
The concern: I'm usually the DM for games, so I'm rusty on having a character that isn't going to step on any toes and will really help optimize the group. Basically I'm really bad at making characters that do things the other players do better. I understand that without any stats it's hard to discern what I should be, however I wanted to take some time to figure out my options and discuss any ideas. For now, let's assume that we have a 20 point build (the DM will probably just do 4d6, drop the lowest) My theory: I was thinking druid would fit into the group, going more towards a casting option. I read through the Treantmonk's guide, and the follow up messageboard concerning the archetypes. Thematically I was thinking about using the Cave Domain. I considered the cave druid archetype, however based on what I've read in the messageboards and from talking with the DM concerning the campaign, I felt losing some of the wild shape strength was a little too much and the beneficial aspects wouldn't come into play. I haven't really read anything concerning the Cave domain being good or bad (save for the missing spell), so I'm up in the air on that. The question to the boards So what would others play to help optimize the group and not end up being "that guy" again? Again: I'm happy to be the player in a game for once, so any classes out of the UM/UC/Core/APG are viable answers (well, not Paladins since the party will have three evil players, but other than them) ![]()

![]() Hi, I have now found out that Canada Post is going on strike as of June 2, 2011. I really don't want to cost anyone any time or money, so is there a way to either suspend shipping on my products (I'm still willing to pay for them) until after the strike subsides or ship some other way until the strike subsides? Thanks ![]()

![]() Sorry if this has been asked somewhere else. One of my players recently noticed that the Jabberwokky is on the front of Bestiary 2. He is quite the Lewis Carrol fan, almost hardcore, and he pointed out that he was somewhat sad that it no longer had it's waistcoat, (link) so I told him that I'd be more than happy to add it's waistcoat if when I used one. Then I got to thinking: Kingmaker Spoiler:
So I'm planning on starting up Kingmaker in the upcoming months after my CotCT game ends. I'm really excited, my players are really excited and all is great in that regard. The lesser Jabberwokky shows up in Kingmaker! So since I'll be using this creature at some point in a campaign, what, if anything, should the waistcoat do? At first I thought a simple bonus to AC, but that's hardly fun. Then I thought it should be a Waist coat of the Archmage, then I realized that's too powerful. Any ideas from some diehard Alice fans or perhaps some snide remarks? ![]()

![]() I'm currently running a group through the 4th adventure of the Curse of the Crimson Throne AP, though I'm worried about something that will come up in the 5th adventure. We're using the Pathfinder system. Here's the group: Bard
I'm having a little problem with 2 players in particular: Cleric of Gorum - Uses a great sword
Recently, the Fighter player was having issues with the second and third adventures. He was having trouble hitting or damaging monsters. This issue eventually came to a very loud argument with another player (the bard). It turns out he had not read about two-weapon fighting rules and was using his full STR on the off hand damage. Also, he did not have weapon focus or weapon specialization or any of the shield bash feats, and he was using weapons that had d6's for damage. To make matters worse, the Cleric of Gorum was able to still handle himself in the fight (since he was using a two handed weapon and buffed himself) In reaction to the argument, I let him change some options for his character (he gained the phalanx fighter variant and used a larger polearm, and updated some feats of which I have not seen yet). The group wasn't too happy with that, seeing it as a "squeaky wheel gets the grease" situation. They've since relaxed a little about it, but since the player in question hasn't apologized, it's still a sore spot. Curse of the Crimson Throne spoiler:
So the issue is Selytiel. I normally just change it to something that's good for the fighter (so in this case a polearm).
But since this player already had a fit and got what he wanted, I don't want to go out of my way again, as it won't be a popular move with the rest of the group. I had tried to avoid this situation by hinting that using a sword would be a good plan during character creation. Finally, as I said above, the Cleric uses swords, so changing the weapon seems like I'm placating a player as the expense of another. What would you do to solve this situation? ![]()

![]() Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong place, but one of my players brought this up and wanted me to post it. Basically, everytime you gain a new attack (when you hit +6/+11/+16 base atack bonus), you gain the "Martial Weapon Proficiency" or "Exotic Weapon Proficiency" feat for one weapon of your choice as a bonus. Since our game only happens about once or twice a month, I haven't seen this become broken... yet. He says it makes finding random exotic weapons a little nicer, as you don't lose a feat using them. I can agree, but again, I may not be seeing the whole picture. Does anyone see any downsides to this variant? Any pitfalls? ![]()

![]() Hi there, I just read the Customer Tips, but I'm still a tad confused. I really do like the "bundle" option for my subscriptions, but I'm getting a tad worried about order #1426558, as it's gone a little.. big, and I worry it won't ship out for awhile. Add that with shipping time to get to Canada and I'll go batty not having anything to read for another 5 weeks. Would it be possible to move the following preorders out of it and ship the order out? I still want these items (a lot), but I just don't want to wait. Pathfinder Chronicles: Kingmaker Poster Map Folio Print Edition
If it's a lot of trouble or not possible, no problem, I just wanted to see if it was possible. Thanks, Modera ![]()

![]() Hi, About a year ago, I pre-ordered the PFRPG rule book, and a couple months ago, I pre-ordered the Bestiary. I now see that there's a subscription that includes both of these and other goodies (such as the Free PDF of the rules). I was wondering how I would fenagle getting myself the subscription without causing you folk too many problems. Thanks, ![]()

![]() Let me just start this off with saying I've enjoyed every single adventure path Paizo has come out with. Age of Worms and Rise of the Runelords are two of my favorites, of which I've run the first twice and the second I'm in the middle of running through the first time. But one thing I have noticed over the last couple years, is that there hasn't been an aberration based AP. I'm not saying that the other APs weren't good. They were amazing. What I did notice was the following: I have this great Abberation book from Wizards with interesting stuff in it. (I liked it at least, can't speak for everyone) Aberations always seem to be one shot baddies in APs, but players (mine and some who have posted on the messageboards) usually want to fight more. Pathfinder has Psionics built in, which line up with Aberrations quite well (though I understand that not everyone likes psionics or has access to the books, so this is somewhat of a moote point). The Cthullu mythos in Golarian would mesh well with Aberrations. So, is there a reason there hasn't been an Aberration based adventure path? Are the other monsters more awesome/easy to write about (that's not meant as a slight, I understand if people like or would prefer to use other monster types)? Has anyone here ever made an Aberration game, and how did it go? Am I the only one thinking this? Also, I apologize if this was brought up earlier, and mean no harm. I'm already jonesing for the next two adventure paths, if only for something to read. Thanks, Modera ![]()

![]() Hi, Quick question about one of my recent order. It says that all of the following were shipped out on August 4th. Pathfinder #13—Second Darkness Chapter 1: "Shadow in the Sky" (OGL) Print Edition
Yet when I got the order last week (it gets shipped to my parents for the time being) it was missing the following: Pathfinder #13—Second Darkness Chapter 1: "Shadow in the Sky" (OGL) Print Edition
Should I expect these in a second package? Were they shipped the same day? ![]()

![]() Hi, I'm looking for a new game. I live on the Toronto/Markham border up in Scarborough. Mostly looking for 3.5 or Pathfinder, but also willing to try out 4.0 when it comes out. I've a large collection of 3.5 stuff and don't mind games at my place every once in awhile. Oh, and I don't mind playing clerics if need be. email me if you need a player modera@hotmail.com ![]()

![]() I hope that this is in the correct thread, but I was wondering why accent people use for dwarves? Recently, myself and my friends have stayed away from Scottish accents because we're not so good at them. One of my friends uses a Rastafarian accent for his (it's an island dwarf, mon) and I tend to use Newfoundlander accents for mine. Has anyone else found any other accent that works best? ![]()

![]() I've been told that there have been adverts for 4th edition in various comics, magazines and other places that target 15-20 year olds. I haven't seen them since a) I'm 25 and b) I don't get comics every week anymore since I have to drive an hour to get them. So, is there anyone who can point out places or links or something? I can't seem to find any myself. |
