Misimba cannot see anything, so slowly begins to back away from the last place he say the enemy.

"You can try monster, but you will not succeed!", the halfling calls back and fires another bullet from his slingstaff.

Attack-ranged: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

That is what I was not sure about...if the perception roll by itself had any meaning

Misimba does not have know: religion....so should he just roll perception?

Seeing the creatures rushing his group, Misimba twirls his sling-staff and releases an iron ball at the purple skinned beast.

Attack-ranged: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Knowing his background as a maiar, I would almost suggest he was a cleric and not a wizard at all......

Misimba shakes his head, but keeps his eyes on the deeper gloom at the bottom of the stairs.

"Light is what we need, and plenty of it. Without Duma, I am blind in this darkness. Should I light some torches, or does the church has some incantation to create more light?"

While waiting, Misimba examines the body on the stairs.

"It keeps going downwards. Come on...lets see where this leads. Duma stay..guard!"

Ok, are you able to drop a rope over the edge and climb down? If so, Misimba will do just that.

Did Duma see something? Can Misimba tell anything from his stance/reactions?

Using his enhanced darkvision, Duma scans the cave where the noises were heard.

booo...bad joke..lol

The greatest extreme was in Calgary during a Chinook...+10 during the day and dropping to -25 at night....

HAHA..yup...just a bit...but once it gets to -30..anything lower just determines how quick your ears freeze, not if...lol

LOL... yup but was doing training all over CFB Esquimalt..Colwood, Dockyards and work point...

Love Victoria!! Spent time there when I was in the Navy!!

Misimba nods and readies the odd staff he has with him. He pats Duma on the shoulder, then lets the Lion lead him into the dark hole with Brother Michel.

Thanks...and no worries about the animal companion...I am learning as well!

Fort Smith in the Northwest Territories...For Mac is due south of us on the otherside of Wood Buffalo National Park...

Reaching out to Duma, Misimba wipes his hands over the lion's eyes, and once he is complete, Duma's eyes glow with a redish hue.

Using Animal Focus-Bat (dark vision) on Duma.

Thanks Gul....internet has been sporatic up here since the fires at Fort Mac. Attack will be the one I would choose as well...the herolab had allowed for more, but I should have checked to make sure that was correct...this is my first time playing a hunter.

Huh....just noticed the post I made this morning is gone.....

Nodding to the western priests, Misimba sniffs the air once again and begins to move off to the north. In the distance, hills can be seen. The halfling hunter starts off slowly, stopping every few steps and casting about for the scent, but within a few minutes he has caught the scent and begins to move faster and faster as the thrill of the hunt courses through his veins. Duma keeps stride with his master, also casting about for the scent and generally communing with his halfling companion as they trot into the wilderness.

"I am as I am...a hunter. My people occasionally bond with totem animals. Any "magic" I may seem to have, is simply my understanding of nature."

Thanks Pixie...he looks great! Sorry for the lack of posting over the last few days...bad connection here in the north...
Also I like your changing the animals to better fit an African motif...I will try to continue to do so now that I see it is ok...

lol..ok, I will make him his own profile...one more will not hurt...

Misimba takes the great cats into his small hands and gently rests his forehead against Dumas'. A silent conversation seems to pass between the two, for when they separate, the lion begins to sniff the air and ground, casting his head about trying to catch a scent.

Misimba will also help track, using his hunter's animal focus ability (wolf) to gain the scent ability

Survival (track): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

I suppose I could, but I already have tons of profiles attached to my account..lol

"Awww go ahead. He is a great big baby. Just scratch him under the chin...he likes that. He will also smell you and rub against you...lets him know who you are and tells other critters you belong to him."

As the monk follows the halflings instructions, the lion's purring gets even louder. It stands after letting Michel rub his chin for awhile and goes around the group smelling and rubbing against everyone (except Octovia and Abel.

A large, dark maned lion confidently strolls out from the long grass and walks over to the halfling. Standing almost 4' at the shoulder and close to 10' in length. Weighing in at around 600 lbs, the cat is surprisingly silent as it walks up and almost bowls Misimba over with its affectionate rubbing. It's tawny fur grows darker as it approaches the magnificent mane, which is almost black in it's depths.

"This my new friends is Duma. Say hello to our new friends Duma."

A deafening roar erupts from the lion, as it stares at each member of the group. It then flops to the ground and starts to purr deep in his throat.

"Well I am game if you are. Lets see what we can do to help these people...and see the evil witch!"

If the parents give us something I will lead the others outside of town and then call Duma to us.

"Duma could track by scent, but I fear what the towns people and all these soldiers might think. I can track as well, if I know where to start."

"A fascinating tale. So you want us to confront this evil witch and get your baby back, is that it? How do you know where the witch will be? Did she tell you?"

"We have similar people back home. Some are good and help the village in many ways, but sometimes a bad spirit will take their body...that is not good. I take it this witch was bad?"

Misimba translates for those who do not speak Greek.

Someone stole our baby. We... we are going to the field where they took him. I would thank you if you come with us.

After translating to the others, Misimba speaks to the couple.

"Είμαι Misimba και αυτοί είναι οι φίλοι που έχω μόλις συναντήθηκαν ... δύο από τα οποία είναι της εκκλησίας. Θα έρθει μαζί σας και να προσπαθήσουμε να βοηθήσουμε"

Translation:

I am Misimba and these are friends I have just met...two of who are of the church. We will come with you and try to help.

No Know: Local here either, but Misimba can translate for those who do not speek greek.

Misimba walks other to the man and woman and asks in Greek,

"Here now. What has happened? Is there anything I .. errr..we can do to help?"

"Oh..well the lady ran in and said "Azad! They took Azad from me!". Not too sure who or what that might be. Is it important, do you think? Maybe I should go and talk to her and the man and see if there is anything I can do."

With that, the halfling hops down from his chair and heads off out into the street.

Misimba shrugs.

"Well if you want to start late, that is fine with me! Who is Alfonso? Duma is a lion from my homeland."

"No, no business. I am a free-lance, just travelling the lands and learning what I can. I am more than happy to join your group, if you will have me, but I must tell you that I do not travel alone. My animal companion, Duma, waits for me outside of this town."

Misimba quietly sit in the oversized chair, swinging his feet back and forth as he drink his cool tea and listens to the others talk.

Excellent..did not want to be talking to people who were not even at the same table..lol

"Greetings gentlemen and a fair day to you. I am Misimba, warrior and traveller from the Kingdom of Mutapa. It is good to make your acquaintance."

I take it you are seating Misimba with Ognos, Michel and Lucius?

Laughing in a surprising deep baritone, the halfling answers the human.

"Do you never have wanderers from the great lands of Africa visit your lands? I am Misimba, warrior and traveller from the Kingdom of Mutapa, and believe me human woman, I am old enough to be in this establishment!"

The halfling smiles broadly, and for effect pulls out two coins from his pouch to show he can indeed pay for his stay.

"Now that we have settled that, could I have something cold and refreshing to drink. Cool tea would be nice, if you have any."

Misimba enters the cantina and is promptly shooed away by the bouncer.
"Get out of here kid! This is no place for you.", the bouncer chides the diminutive warrior. Usually having Duma with him smooths over such awkward occurrences, however he left the lion outside of town with strict instruction not to hunt the "tame" animals or harm the locals. Now he must simply exert himself.

Taking off his traveller's cloak and brandishing his slingstaff and shield, he approaches the doorman once again.

"I am sorry to bother you kind sir, but I am not a human child, but rather a warrior for the lands of Africa. Please allow me to pass."

The guard looks over the little warrior then steps out of his way, allowing him into the dim interior.

Walking in, Misimba stops to let his eyes adjust to the dim interior. The halfling stands just shy of 3 feet, with an athletic build. His bald head glistens in the light as he wipes the dust from the road off his cloak. A worn leather pack sits at his feet, and held in one hand is a strange staff with a sling attached to the end, and a tear-drop shaped shield. A small hand ax is thrust through a loop on his belt, along with a small pouch. Around his neck sits an odd symbol in a dark material.
Once his eyes have adjusted he hunter walks to the first empty seat and sits, looking around the room at the many other travellers.

Will add the info for Duma...I had given him the feat and such, but it just did not copy over...

ok..will remove an extra 10gp and the other spell is endure elements...which I thought I put in, but must have forgotten...will do so now.

Correct. But as his shield is his only armour, he usually has it on him.
