I'm using a re-roll boon that I received from TotalCon called "Expanded Narrative". It allows me an additional replay (beyond GM star replays). This is why I needed to finish before GenCon. That's when Expanded Narrative runs out; I have to finish whilst we are still in season 6. That is the limit of the boon. With this boon I can get 4 legal credits for a scenario: One to play it

Last round: No, GM. You're always entangled. That's what the attack roll is for. Even with a regular tanglefoot bag the reflex is only to avoid being stuck in place. ---------- This round. BEFORE Jal is next to the enemy (I hope) Standard Action: Bomb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23, Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 1) + 5 = 7

Move Action: Move towards the man throwing knives
tanglefoot bomb: A creature that takes a direct hit from a tanglefoot bomb must save against the bomb’s DC or be entangled and glued to the floor as if it had failed its save against a tanglefoot bag. Creatures in the splash area that fail their saves are entangled but not glued to the floor; those who make this save are not entangled at all.
Since I made a direct hit, he is (at the very least) entangled.

"Thank you, Kind Sir Jal!" Misforstått smiles and bows low to the slayer. As he bows, the tiefling inadvertently moons the rest of the party. He is an ugly man; the moon is truly a horrible sight. In conjunction with the smell from the stinky tree, the whole effect is... unsettling... :-) The alchemist wags his tail happily, having received a compliment from a fellow Pathfinder field agent.

Thanks! :-) "Friends, I can easily deal with that swarm. But I'm afraid I might damage the body there. Shall we back off a bit?" the alchemist suggests as he moves back along the trail.

My bad. The GM wrote: "The far side of the ravine is sixty feet away" I misread that as 60 feet down. I would NOT have tried to jump 100 feet. So, I guess that whole post was for nothing. Carry on... :-) I'll just climb down and get all stinky, if that's alright, GM. The alchemist still wags his tail as he reaches the bottom of the ravine. Sniffing his pits, he says: "Smells kind of like home! Only, more so."

Um. My character is a bit of a goofball. Rather than climbing, he would rather try to jump to avoid the stinky tree. If that's OK with you, GM, he will: (1) Acrobatics to mitigate the first 10 feet of the fall: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 (Nope!)
"Ouch! My perineum!" Misforstått dusts himself off as he stands up and attends to his wounds. "Friends! I found a quick way down! I bet we could sell rides like that. I think I just found inspiration for my new mutagen!" The tiefling wags his tail happily as they continue on down the trail. For those of you who don't know me, the player: Don't worry, I probably won't do anything silly that again during this scenario. I mentioned in the recruitment thread that the alchemist likes to think outside the box and come up with unusual solutions to problems. But, I will never do anything that endangers the party.

I would like to buy one basket, please. Did my knowledge nature check identify nearby resources that we could use to mitigate the stinky tree? Perhaps wrapping our boots with broad leaves, identifying what types of structures to hold onto, etc? May I guide my fellow climbers as an aid another action to tell them when they're about to encounter a stinky tree root or whatever? If so, what would you like me to roll? Knowledge nature? Perception? Survival?

No purchase of baskets from the grippli, then? Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 The alchemist calls to his allies and points to a tree. "Pathfinders! Be warned: this type of tree has concentrated oils that react upon contact with skin or leather--making a right powerful odor. I suspect that the effect would be similar to skunk musk; we would be smelled by anything with a nose from very far away if we are exposed to it."

Before we leave, may we please borrow or purchase an appropriate basket for the eggs from the grippli? Actually, can we have two or three, since we don't want to put all of our eggs in one basket! Nyuk, nyuk. ;-P Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 "We must thank our new friend Gwellik for these directions when we return with the eggs. His instructions are, indeed, very helpful!"

At the mention of the word Aspis, Misforstått's tail stops wagging. He takes on a serious mein and offers his thoughts to the grippli: "Friend Gwellik, please take care when dealing with the Aspis. We, too encountered them at Fort Bandu. They were openly hostile to us--especially their representative, Amersanus Valascosti. He has a unique appearance with a long scar on his face. Was it this man with whom you spoke?" That done, the tiefling is eager to speak further with his newfound grippli freinds about more pleasant things: "We came here seeking an artifact related somehow to the Golden Guardian and the dwarves of Ashkurhall." The alchemist smiles.

We did what we were supposed to do. :-) "From Under Ice" is a prequel to "Tapestry's Toil" where answers may be found! :-D Misforstått replies: "I presume we will translate the runes on the gladdringgoch back in town. If nothing else, I'll buy a scroll of Comprehend Languages." Yeah, for the sake of avoiding any ambiguity, I'll go ahead and make that purchase.

On the way back Misforstått tells Haltani more about the Society and preparing for missions. He warns her about the Aspis Consortium. He suggests a Ring of Sustenance so that Drendle Dreng's midnight missions don't wake her up. He also recommends speaking with Ollysta Zadrian--even if Haltani doesn't join the Silver Crusade, she can get honest information about all the factions from the Paladin of Sarenrae.

Oh, what the heck. Here's goes nothing!
"You see? Haltani likes us! It's clear that she likes you, too. Can't we be friends? We engaged in a bit of trade back in Dalun. We also met Baroness Nadya! She has such a pretty ice garden." Misforstått's tail continues to wag happily. He has no weapons out, and he wears no armor. Smiling, he continues: "You can check with the merchants back in town. We even came with a letter of trade! We mean no harm to anyone." The tiefling catches Caswallon's eye. "Except when we feel cranky." The alcehmist's tail curls. "Sorry about being cranky, by the way..." Misforstått pulls out a rag and offers it. "Um... sorry about the snot, too..."
