Mirri had cheerfully handed the others the items she discovered in the cart, including the cart drivers chain. Seeing the reaction it received, she almost wished she hadn't. Prolly not the time to mention I use ta know a few of those silver chain types In truth she hadn't know any of them well, all via her brother, and knew nothing of base locations or the like. Still, seeing both Petra and Say'ri get tense over the matter made the diminutive Halfling shy away into the shadows even more than usual.

You...ya think mebbe the Silver Chainers stole that artifact thing from the skeleton, causin' this whole mess? We could go lookin' in the Fingers for 'em but they prolly won't like that much.

Initially hoping to follow Mad Dog into the fray, Mirri took in the battle as it sized up and saw an opportunity to get around the zombies' flank nearer Ibrahim. Darting north, Mirri tumbled under one of the undead creatures to stand behind it and slashed at it's rotted tendons with her knife.

@GM: FWIW...Mirri would have encouraged Mad Dog to bring Marrna, but understand if there are reasons he wouldn't

Mirri spent most of the journey up until finding the cart reassuring Mad Dog that the group gets attacked by zombies on a near-constant basis and that the next fight was just around the corner. She almost became worried that the group's luck had changed when the next fight appeared.

See! I told ya! Hey, wait for me! Mirri darted off after the man, trying to position herself in a flanking spot.

Not exactly sure where Mad Dog is on the map, maybe the box looking thingy next to 2 zombies? Mirri's double move depends on that, but I'm moved her now on the assumption that I have Mad Dog's position correct.

Nah Mirri said in response to Mad Dog's concern about Say'ri. Some kinda undead came outta of a wall and...touched her or somethin'. Ain't been quite right sense. Mirri just frowned, looking at her worn human friend trundle over to a place to sit down. Suddenly brightening then she added, but no matter, we'll fix her! Changing the subject she scratched the sleeping Marnna's head before looking back at the burly male Halfling. So whata gonna do next? We's be headin' out again soon for sure. Wanna come with? Mirri had darted back through the city with the others, both surprised and relieved to not be chased during the journey. She beamed as Captain Themm heaped praise and no small amount of wealth on the party. She even snagged the silk hat as the items were given, trying it on and posing for the others to see what they thought. Kinda works on me, ya?

Say'ri's mention of the auction brought the halfling back to the reality of the situation. 'Kay, we can go an' check on them. Mirri also looked worryingly at the human woman. You're shakin' a lot there Say'ri. You gonna be OK? I guess drain' away the soul is not so good for people.

Mirri stood awkwardly in the back of the room while Petra recounted what the group knew to the scribe. She felt as out of place as she seemed, and the moment the dwarf was done Mirri darted out of the room with her. They then met back up with Say'ri and Ibrahim to prepare to head back to the gate.

Mirri had slowly slunk to a position just behind Say'ri as the others, led by Petra, interacted with the commander. She said nothing, and she seemed to look guilty without having done anything apparently wrong. Nevertheless, the halfling seemed relieved when the man and his skull-headed beasts left.

Ugh, they give me the creeps. Guess we gotta go see this Iana then, huh? Mirri sounded less than happy about the prospect. Free stuff is good though, ya? She added the last part in a clear attempt to cheer herself, but as the group headed inside she still seemed wary.

A smile beaming on her face as she help Petra and Say'ri stay clear of the undead chasing them, Mirri darted forward with the beleaguered group, more than happy to let the guards and priests run past to battle the wights. The halfling then skidded to halt as the flash of holy power erupted, and she looked on with shock as the bizarre creatures apparently in service to the grand mausoleum defenders consumed the wights' remains. EWWWW! I can't watch that! She then proceeded to cover her eyes as Petra addressed the interlocutors.

I'd say take Petra's hand and move on. Though in character for Say'ri to essentially sacrifice herself to hold off the wights, I'm struggling to come up with the believable reason why she wouldn't be just dead and gone then. Technically two hero points could bring her back, but not sure how to imagine that.

As an aside, this is what I've always found a bit tough about these skill challenge scenarios. They're awesome if you are playing a monk or, say, a halfling rogue with a 20 dex, but many character builds don't lend themselves to climb/acro/ea/know checks.

Vaulting over obstacles while being hotly pursued put the (somewhat) reformed burglar in her element. Darting and jumping at lightning speeds, the halfling almost seemed to fuse with the shadows as she gracefully jumped the gap. Upon seeing the cluttered rooftop she exclaimed, OOH! I know where this goes, follow me! She then proceeded back to street level, trying to guide the others as best she could. Upon arriving at the alleyway she looked back again at her companions. Ya'll might wanna climb, don't this way 'ill work for ya! Mirri then wriggled through the slightest opening in the debris to emerged on the other side.

Mirri appeared lost in thought en route to the Grand Mausoleum, but quickly re-focused when the threat came into sight. Get outta here! Jus' like the constable's chasin us! Err...jus' run! The battle over as quickly as it began, Mirri absently handed the wand back to Petra while staring intently at the spot the shadow was destroyed. As the group promptly turned to leave, the Halfling glanced one more time over to a spot along the far wall, before darting off with the rest towards the Grand Mausoleum.

@GM: Mirri is technically dropping until just before the shadow would go again. Posting now for sake of time. Also, might just be me but the map doesn't seem quite right. I'm seeing the whole party basically balled up near the middle with a guy with a shield and maybe the shadow (but 5' away from shield guy) to the north. Dunno.

Although hidden off to the side in case of trouble, Mirri briefly stared in shock as the shadow launched itself through the wall to attack Bal. Petra's quick, sharp instructions brought the Halfling back to action. She sprinted out to pick up the wand Petra had dropped, but stalled just after doing so. She gave the foe a puzzled look and then glanced over to one side. Are you like that?, she said softly.

Just as rapidly as she had stopped, Mirri was back in action, darting towards the undead ready to put the wand to use.

Move action to where Petra dropped the wand, then another move action to pick it up

Mirri had stayed quiet and essentially unseen as Ibrahim deftly handled the shop-looters. As the group walked on, the Halfling approached the human. Hey, thanks for handlin' that nice like. Not so long ago I'd 'ave been part of some group like that. They's jus' scared kids and its good ta let 'em get their heads on straight.

Approaching the necropolis, Mirri instinctively kept to the shadows, mumbling something to no one in particular as she did. Those that could catch the look in her eyes before becoming nearly invisible saw clear concern and worry. The Halfling could hear the groaning on the other side of the doors.

@GM: Do we know who the Voices of the Spire are?

Having missed Petra's previous and more appreciative look, Mirri offered a quiet, bashful thanks to the dwarven woman after receiving healing. The look the halfling had seen, following her attempted loot of the corpses, fell more in line with what Mirri had come to expect from the priestess. She continued look embarrassed, gazing at her feet while moving a pebble back and forth with one, while Ben explained where the bodies came from.

Mirri's mood began to brighten when she saw Ben and Say'ri embrace. Awww, that's cute! See Ben, told ya I'd bring 'er home safe!

This brightened mood turned quickly to wide-eyed shock as the baker and his son launched themselves at her, showing a level of reverence and heart-felt appreciation the halfling had never remotely experienced in her life. I, uh, well, yeah, thanks but they's really... she stammered while pointing back roughly in the direction of Say'ri and Ibrahim, uh, see they's really the hero-types, I'm jus' kinda here ta help. Still wide-eyed, Mirri smelled the warm bread and couldn't help but lick her lips while still taking in the strangeness of it all. Slowly reaching out her hands for the food, she again glanced back, this time squarely at Ben and Say'ri. She then turned back to the baker and his son with a bit more relaxed and self-assured expression. Jabari is it? she said to the son. Tell ya what, we's got a lot of mouths here ta feed, so why don't we spread that there bread out 'mongst everybody, 'kay? Looking back up at the father she adds in a faux whisper and a wink, but I'lls take ya up on that offer for spice cake once we's got this undead thing fixed!

Mirri winced as the zombie struck Ben, Oh man, why'd he stay outside?? but knew the best chance for survival was to keep the bulk of the mob off the man. Preparing for blows, Mirri feigned a hobble along the south wall of the temple, stopping to turn and fearfully face the zombie mass that would presumably pursue. She held her small knife out in front of her, waving it around in a purposely sad show of ineptitude.

Keeping up the wounded bird act, Mirri will use her standard action for Full Defense (so AC 25), then take a move action back to current position on the map. She'll take the 3 AoO's this will incur, as I'm thinking using Acrobatics wouldn't jive well with a feigned injury.

Yea! Site's back up.

Oh no.... Mirri winced as Ben, ever the one to put others before himself, didn't close himself and the struggling man in the temple. She held out her hand to take the stones, but her attention was drawn more to the advancing horde of zombies than anything the man said. She dimly was aware of the Eye on the temple door, but what that meant was lost on her. All she knew was that if she didn't do something, Ben was now going to get overwhelmed in a crush of zombies. Oh man, I'm gonna die....might as well be the dead'uns that do it 'stead of Say'ri

She spared one last look at Ben-Ali before darting off. Get inside! I got this an' the rest'll be here soon ta help! The halfling's fierce whisper, probably the most insistent and forceful thing she had ever said to the man, was contrasted by her next vocalization. No, don't kill me! AHHHH! Faking the fearful response wasn't hard, but she knew she needed to avoid Ben-Ali getting overrun with undead. She hoped another hobbling, easy pray might be the trick. Darting south toward the corner of the building, Mirri pretended to pull up lame towards the end. Oww, oww, OH NO!

Double to move to current location on the map. Bluff check for undead to think she's injured and hopefully easier prey. Objective is to draw as many as possible away from Ben in hopes he gets the injured guy inside and closes the door.

@GM: I'm not able to access the PF SRD at work, blocked for some reason. Not sure what Touch of Law does. Likewise, not really sure what the Eye of Horus on the door is supposed to do, but figured Mirri wouldn't either.

Mirri will drop below the civilians and Ben Ali, but act before the enemies do. Hoping the civilians will move into the building and Ben will shut the door after them.

Knowing the city well, Mirri darted with purpose between houses and alley-ways. Akhentepi followed, which had been a comfort, periodically losing track of her and then re-locating moments later. As usual the halfling instinctively kept next to places to hide, but at times found herself in open terrain. Yet oddly, it seemed The General could briefly not find her even then. The voice said think of the shadows, and it is if you are there. It was the first time she ever understood it.

Arriving at the temple, Mirri took a moment to assess the situation. The city was in bad shape all over, but seeing Ben-Ali alive brighten the halfling's mood. She raced toward the piled of re-kills east of the door, shouting Ben, it's me, Mirri! Say'ri's OK, everybody else too. They're comin'! Pointing back to the man and his son she adds, get those folks inside and shut the door! I'll distract the deaduns'! Keeping to one side of the bodies, she shouted at the advancing undead. Hey, stupid zombies! Betcha can't catch me! You's too slow and dumb! She then moved around the pile, keeping it between her and the foes.

Double move to the temple side of the corpse pile, with free action talking. Idea is to draw the zombies toward her, giving the non-combatants a chance to get to Ben-Ali and locked in the Temple for safety. She isn't looking to get surrounded by zombies; I'm assuming that a double move would get them close to her but not to her yet.

Mirri nearly gagged breathing her sigh of relief as the mummy fell, the rotting flesh was still nauseating. Holding a hand over her nose, the Halfling nearly ran right into the Andoran explorer who came to investigate the sarcophagus. Wonder why they brought a coffin here anyway.

After the explorer spoke, the conversation quickly turned to the next steps. Mirri glanced down at the dropped bag, then opened it and glanced through the contents. Magic stuff maybe? Such items would have driven her mind wild with avarice not long ago, but the regular influx of riches had tempered that notion to some degree. Nevertheless, she took the bag and stashed it with the rest of the group's remaining unsold items. She then joined the conversation.

Petra's right, let's go find Ben-Ali! Keeping Mirri from heading out immediately proves difficult. Nearly bouncing on her toes while Ibrahim is brought back to consciousness, Mirri loses patience at the healing of others. I'm gonna go, these dead things 'll never see me. She then proceeds to head out the door and vanish into the shadows.

Mirri will listen and stop, begrudgingly, if Say'ri tells her to. Otherwise, she will use Fast Stealth to sneak her way back to Say'ri and Ben-Ali's house, and will assume the others are following after.

In desperation, Mirri again attempts to end the undead foe.

Sneak Attack1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Damage, if hits 1d3 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (1, 3) = 12

Mirri winced as the mummy's brutal blow took Ibrahim out of the fight. She then waited for the best flanking opportunity before again lancing her dagger into a vital organ.

Holding attack until Say'ri or someone else moves into flanking position. Mirri will also use a 5ft step to accomplish the same, if possible.

Sneak Attack 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23

Damage, if hits 1d3 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (4, 3) = 15

It's attention fully focused on Ibrahim, Mirri attempted to forcefully insert her knife between two of the mummy's lower vertebrae.

Sneak Attack, w./ bless? If that's over subtract 1 from result 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Damage, if hits 1d3 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (6, 4) = 18

Hmmm....not sure where the rest of my post went. Well, sans flavor it is a double move up to flank the mummy with Ibrahim. Save made, thanks to trait and race boni vs. fear.

Mirri heard the shouts of panic to the north, and didn't need to look to know a fight would ensue. She continued to make a beeline south to the door, and upon reaching it through it open.

Move action to door, standard action to open door. I'm assuming the door was closed. If not, Mirri enters Stealth and moves 20' north into room behind cover.
