After the bodies are buried, Minah will head back to the camp and make preparations to set up a watch order for the night. "Sasha and I can take first watch, if you like. With beasts, goblins and kobolds about, it's always prudent to keep an eye out." Minah then takes a seat by the fire, hoping for good conversation. "Well, it was an interesting day at least. More exploring tomorrow?"
Minah will take the remains and begin burying them away from the camp. She will attempt to recruit Houk and Blaughter to assist her.
Minah will cast light on a nearby tree as well, trying to expand the lighted area so the group can work. She will renew it as needed so the group can continue freeing the pods. She gives Sasha the guard command just in case something untoward approaches.
Minah nods at Margut's suggestion. She attempts to pull some of the pods loose.
"Perhaps we should capture it and take it with us while we make camp elsewhere. We should be able to find this place again in the light of day. Or we could take the time now while we set up a guard."
"Sasha and I are fine; thank you for asking, Blaughter. Not sure if these goblins set this up as a trap or if we just happened into a spider hunting ground. Either way, we've handled what we've happened upon quite well so far. Shall we see what's in these cocoons? Minah looks at the bundles.
Minah is impressed by the group's display of martial prowess. "Quite the competent bunch." she whispers to Sasha. "Now you stay here." She then drops her club and shield to the ground and pulls out her shortbow, stepping up to fire an arrow at the remaining spider.
Sasha and Minah try ripping and smashing into the closest spider .
Minah, seeing the spiders, gives Sasha the defend command and begins casting Summon Nature's Ally I.
Minah starts to speak again, then gets quiet momentarily as she hears the branches snap. "Something's over there." she says, pointing eastward. "Something's moving." "Maybe another scout..." she says as she walks cautiously that way with Sasha at her side.
Minah stops and motions to the party to listen eastward. Once everyone has a bead on the sound, she will draw her club and see if Roscoe is interested in sneaking over to see what the noise is coming from. "The little creature headed north along the path here. With night approaching, I think we should soon find a spot to shelter and let Blaughter get started on his stew. However, maybe if we follow the trail for a bit longer, we can find out if there is a hideout or lair of some sort. What say you?"
Minah sends Sasha after the creature with a word and the powerful cat bounds through the forest after it.
Sasha is too slow however and after a few more quick dashes, makes her way back to the tree where Minah is standing. With a quick, disappointed growl, she rubs up against Minah's legs. Minah reaches down, pats the lion's side and shows her the place where the little creature was hiding. Letting the lion get the scent, she turns to the others. "Sasha has the beast's scent. Let's follow to see where it's off to." With that, Minah and Sasha begin to track the creature.
Minah, seeing the creature, motions to Sasha to follow her and gives a hand signal to the others to look. She and the lion then give pursuit if it's close enough. If not, she will hang back and look to see if there are more about or if any tracks were left to see where it might be headed.
MInah scopes the area, but can't make out who, or what, is about. She turns her head to the rest of the group, pointing out the symbol. "Area looks clear to me and I'm not sure what hung these fetishes, but take a look at this carving." she says, pointing to the symbol carved into the dead tree. "Mean anything to any of you?"
"Interesting." mutters Minah, looking around the area for any danger. Telling Sasha to stay put, she will look for tracks around and into the area surrounding the tree.
"I'd be glad to see what I can find, Blaughter. The stew sounds wonderful. I certainly wouldn't mind a night out under the stars." She reaches down and scratches Sasha behind her ears as she waits for the others replies.
Minah smirks at the banter that is going back and forth as she watches Orono and Roscoe sneak off.
"Good idea, Henris. Let's continue on the road then?" she says as she looks to the others.
Seeing the hobgoblin scouting, Minah takes a look at the swamp as well, seeing if it's worth the party's time.
Minah suggests we continue exploring, though our first fight was rough. "Shall we continue for another few hours then bring the skins back?"
Minah looks about the woods as the group travels, trying to get a feeling for where the group is.
Once we find the owlbear cave, she points out the broken eggs with a sigh. "Seems we've come a bit late."
Minah stops the hunt for owlbear eggs momentarily and heals Houk with 3 charges from her wand.
Minah will start the hunt for owlbear eggs, Sasha keeping pace as she moves through the area. Aiding whoever has the highest Survival. I think that's Minah, right?
Minah strokes Sasha's head softly, leaning down to heal the cat with her wand of Cure Light Wounds.
Sasha gets up slowly, looking around at the others, then at the downed owlbears. She growls softly, then begins rubbing up against Minah. Minah looks to the others, then offers: "Does anyone need healing?"
Minah moves after the beast, swinging her club as she goes.
Minah nods her thanks to the huntress as she stops Sasha's death. She then turns and snarls loudly as she swings her mighty club at the owlbear, now aided by the flanking halfling. She swings directly at its beaked face, furious beyond words that it has hurt Sasha so badly.
Minah cries out in horror as the massive beast cuts down Sasha. With grit and determination, she leans down and tries to stem her companion's bleeding.
In her shock at how quickly Sasha was taken out however, she fumbles the attempt. She then feebly steps forward, hoping to take some of the creature's attention off the cougar.
Minah steps back out of reach and with a word, she moves her hand swiftly over her club. It takes on a different, more menancing appearance. Sasha spits and roars at the owlbear, trying to claw and bite the larger beast.
Minah immediately sees the creatures as they interrupt the casual nature of the walk this morning. She yanks her club from her waist and gives Sasha the defend command.
Minah and Sasha walk side by side, both seeming content to be traveling with the group. Minah looks around at the wooded area, hoping her nature sense will reveal something interesting.
She nods in agreement at Henris' comment, suppressing a involuntary shudder. "It is quite...a specimen."
Minah returns with Sasha after the group leaves Lisker's. "Did we find out anything useful? We", she says rubbing Sasha's head, "are ready for a day about if everyone else is."
Minah looks over the map with Roscoe, nods her thanks to the captain and clears her throat."Well, the caves to the northeast seem like a good place to start after we've spoken with the pawnbroker or whomever else we deem necessary. We could follow the road and then head due north. Unless someone else has different ideas, the caves sound like fun to me! Are there any supplies we need before we set out, caves or otherwise?"
Minah, apparently already awake, walks into the Bree-Yark and takes in the scene. Her cougar, Sasha, has been sent out on a morning hunt and Minah likes the smell of the breakfast as well as the bustle of people in the busy inn. She greets the locals, Doris and Joe in good measure and waits for the others to arrive as she scarfs down her plate of food. She nods at the Captain's words in understanding, then looks to the group. "I hope everyone got the rest they needed. What say we set out his morning after everyone has broken their fast and have a look around?"
"Miss Doris, do you know if the goblins have a hideout around anywhere? If so, where might it be? Oh, and I'll take a twin room for myself as well. I assure you my companion here (points at Sasha) will behave herself." Minah slides Doris 2 gold coins.
“And you miss – keep yer beast away from the horses and livestock, or you’ll be liable for it, Minah gives Sasha the stink eye and walks about the outer courtyard, greeting folk (if they are friendly) as she tries to get an idea of the layout, what's for sale and where everything is. After she's got a good grasp of what's what, she will head to the Bree-Yark Inn and try and book a room for herself as well. She speaks to Houk (and whoever else in the group is in the Inn at the time): "It sounds as if we are going to need to come up with some pooled gold. Should save us some money in the long run, but we'll need to earn some before we have much, I think. Unless someone is generous and wants to pay for the freeswords charter upfront..."
The dark haired Shoanti woman, you've noticed, tends to move about the caravan throughout the day. She is substantially built, wears greenish dyed hide armor and has a rugged shield and bow strapped to her back. A large, gnarled tree limb serving as a club hangs from one hip. Her clothing is worn but well cared for and she always seems to smell faintly of lavender. She is friendly with everyone in the caravan and seems genuinely interested in the hobgoblin, gnome and dwarf who travel with her. She assists others in their duties throughout the camp where she can, making sure not to get in their way and volunteering to take first watch every night. She wakes well before the dawn, ensures she is the first one up and climbs on top of one of the caravans to celebrate the coming of the morning sun in her own way. The woman's pet cougar is usually at her side and at times she speaks harshly to it, especially if it gets too curious about the black haired woman's spider. It doesn't seem particularly friendly with anyone other than her, though it hasn't snarled or threatened anyone in the caravan. The cougar is somewhat feral and lanky looking and you can see that it has two different colored eyes, giving it a somewhat odd appearance. At night, the woman shares stories of her youth and travels and encourages others to do the same, politely hoping to get to know those she travels with better. After her watch shift is over, she takes the cougar far away from the caravan (but not out of sight) and wrestles with it, always coming back with a smile on her face. As the caravan approaches the Keep, the woman tries to keep her excitement to a minimum though it still shows on her face.
I think we'll be ok between the 6 of us. I like both builds of Orono and Houk as they are.

I really like the idea of the first one but for the GM's sake, I think the second option is the way to go.

I'll try and update Minah to get her inline with the build rules tomorrow when I get home, though I may not be able to get to her until Tuesday next week.
I'm looking for a game for Minah here, my Shoanti Druid. I'll change her backstory a bit to fit the campaign but she's self sufficient, headstrong and looking for adventure!
Minah is updated again with the changes added to reflect Background Skills. She picked up Linguistics and Perception as her Handle Animal is now a Background Skill. Both fit in well with her backstory.
