Micaiah will build the Rover if it is needed to recover the wreckage.

The soil/air composition would be very valuable data. With it we can tell if we can grow vegetables, scrub O2, refine crafting materials, ect.

Micaiah spends the day trying to come up with a workable blue print for the Rover.

"Strange... Are the wheels supposed to be different sizes?"

Realizing that she goofed on the first set of prints, Micaiah tries again.

"Lovely!"

I'm assuming that we can salvage the wreckage for resources.

Ugh. There just isn't enough materials for both the Rover and the suit modifications, much less the Observation Post.

Micaiah furrows as she goes over the calculations while habitually chewing on a flock of her hair. Realizing that the Rover would allow them to recover the wreckage the scanners picked up the day before, she turns around and announces to Jack, Gunny, and Edmund:

"We should build the Rover and use it to recover the wreckage we detected yesterday. It will provide us with more materials to work with."

"mornin' lass, er I be wonderin' you seem the sharpest tack 'round here when it comes to all them thingamajiggs and fancy screens. I, well I never could afford to even touch equipment like this here stuff, not even in my military days."

"Morning Mr. Oschia! These systems are essentially idiot proof and would require multiple security passes for any permanent modifications. So long as you don't do that in here, you should be alright." She pretends to be firing a rifle, then smiles. "I can show you the basics when we get some down time."

Edit: Can you also explain what the H, Mov, and R stands for?

"Good ideas you two!" Micaiah exclaims in excitement at their proposals. "I'll draw up the blue prints and see what I can do. You two be careful out there if you are going to the wreckage site, K?" She smiles at Gunny and Jack, but her eyes betray hints of concern.

@Gunny: She will probably work on your idea first because it seems doable with just the off-the-shelf components we have right now.

@Jack: Micaiah will take after your character in inquisitiveness and inspiration, but probably not the slyness. :)

Micaiah pouts a little as she puts away the components.

lol your reaction is perfect Jack. Micaiah is very smart but only have a 10 Wisdom, so expect this kind of thing once in a while. :)

"Things that go kaboom Gunny. In case you run into big scary aliens out there."

These rely on blast to kill (hence the bludgeoning damage) so you don't have to worry about shrapnel making a hole in your suit.

Unless someone asks for her help in something, Micaiah will spend the day making some grenades for the military types.

"I'm sorry Gunny. I didn't know..."

Micaiah's smile fades when Gunny starts to recount his unfortunate reactions to the Vex disease. She casts her eyes at her feet while fidgeting the edge of her jacket as he went over the gruesome details. When Gunny moves on to exlaining Brunhilde, however, the girl suddenly perks up and becomes extremely interested:

"Me? Well... I guess if Brunhilde is a VALKYRIE because she can talk to machines and helps you do things, then I am one too!"

Micaiah exclaims excitedly and places her hand on a corner of the Operations Engineer station. The station shifts out of standby mode as the monitors flickers to show the progress of a ship wide self-maintainence program. Interfacing with the terminal through Socrates and the nano machines in her body, she assists the program in reprioritizing the tasks so that the process finishes before the end of her watch.

Knowledge - Technology: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 2 = 28 To optimize the program so it always takes <2 hrs.

"See?" Micaiah beams Gunny a smile, and then leans towards him as she asks in a hushed voice: "Can I talk to Brunhilde?"

Perception: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 14 Bonuses from the zoom, infrared, and night vision enhancements on the surveillance cameras.
@Gunny: I'm assuming that you are also in the cockpit. If not then the conversation takes place when you do show up.

Wishing to avoid the uncomfortable subject of Dr. Williams' theory, Micaiah quickly excuses herself from the group at the airlock and makes her way to the cockpit. Bringing up the general status and security displays, she leans back into the seat and allows her thoughts to drift.

An unknown assailant huh... May be I will end up fulfilling the Council's wishes after all, Dad, even though you sent me away so that I may avoid this... destiny. Her logical mind has long accepted Dr. Williams' theory as more then plausible, yet her heart is still hesitant. What do you think, Socrates?

Given our current situation however, I would advise that emphasis be placed on your immediate needs rather then theorizing.] A familiar thought crosses Micaiah's mind as the AI interjects its reply.

Somehow I knew you would say that. But good advice none the less. The girl smiles to her self as she stretches, and swings her chair around to face Gunny. Realizing that she still knows embarrassingly little about the taciturn soldier, she tries to strike up a conversation:

"Can I call you Gunny? Mr. Isaacsohn?" Noticing his mechanical augments, she points at his arm and asks: "What happened to your arm? You can talk to machines too?"

"Mango? Good choice Mr. Isaacsohn!" Micaiah looks up and smiles at Gunny while handing him the bottle: "I've never done a watch before so I'll be counting on you!"

After picking up the fallen items in her immediate vicinity, Micaiah scans the hallway for things she may have missed, only to have Yogh approach her with the rest of the fruits.

"Thanks Mr. Yogh. I don't know what came over me, but the world just started spinning after Dr. Williams gave her theory..." She greets Asher apologetically and, realizing that he probably hasn't eaten anything up until now, thrusts him a bottle of nutrient paste: "You must be hungry Mr. Yogh. The pineapple flavor is delicious!"

Micaiah is young and full of energy, so she probably don't need the shot to last another 2 hours.

Hehe. Edmund is probably the oldest of us and you just called him 'son' Gunny.

"O-Ok! I'll be right there after I uh... fix this mess."

Jolted out of her stupor by Gunny's words, Micaiah stutters in embarrassment at her apparent clumsiness and proceeds to retrieve the fallen items.

Micaiah can do first watch unless you have someone else in mind Gunny.

Sense Motive: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (17) - 4 = 13 Penalty for being in shock at Michelle's revelation. Micaiah will not press questions at this time.

*CLANG!*

The tray of food Micaiah was holding slips from her grasp and crashes to the floor, sending fruit and bottles of Nurishall scattering across the hallway. Unable or perhaps unwilling to comprehend Michelle's revelation, the girl stares wide eyed at the scientist as she wobbles a step to the side and into a nearby railing for support.

The food was meant for the returning EVA team and Dr. Williams. This should not negatively affect our food supply as both the fruit and bottles can easily survive the fall.

Voice: Can you post the info for the 4 new tier 1 tech that we unlocked? They are Wasteland Rover, RS Plating, Compact Headquarters and Proxima Missiles.

I'm ok with player on player rolling so long as it is done in good taste, which is absolutely the case this time. So as a bonus, Micaiah's attitude towards Dr. Chronis just shifted from Friendly to Helpful! If you ever need some help with crafting or in the ER, just let her know. She has high Craft: Pharma and no Know: Earth, which I interpret as she knows the effects of drugs but not the physiological mechanisms behind those effects - just like a nurse.

One can almost feel the relief emanating from the girl as she listens to Xzavier's wise words.

"Mmm... You are right Dr. Chronis. Dr. Williams is a good person and would never do anything to endanger us."

She reaches up and gives Xzavier a BIG hug.

"Thanks a lot Dr. Chronis! It feels good to finally get that out of my chest."

She beams a sheepish smile at Xzavier and continues inquisitively:

"Others will find out eventually if Dr. Williams keeps this up. Are you going to talk to her about this Doctor?"

Half wishing that Xzavier had said no, Micaiah reluctantly activates the monitor and brings up the records of the hull monitoring system. Accessing the most recent file, she informs the good doctor while avoiding eye contact:

"I told Jack that I'll be keeping an eye on the EVA team while they are out. But I discovered this when I accessed the external cameras."

On the screen is a multi angle recording of the EVA team's activities, but in infrared. The corner of the panel displaying the user ID: MICHELLE WILLIAMS.

"Everything we do through the system, every key stroke or communication, is automatically recorded. It is why I am able to show you this doctor. I don't know why Dr. Williams is spying on them, but..." She pulses in hesitation, and mumbles: "I did notice that Dr. Williams has been acting strangely ever since we landed... I feel that she does not trust us..."

Unable to speak ill of Michelle any longer, Micaiah drifts off and instead focuses on the alien yet majestic landscape outside of the cockpit windows.

I want to ask everyone to not disturb Micaiah and Dr. Chronis until the dialogue is finished. She will reveal to Dr. Chronis what she saw on the monitor and her impression of Michelle's behavior. She chose Dr. Chronis because traditionally, doctors usually play the role of confidents to their patients, and Micaiah herself is too young and inexperienced to deal with this kind of thing.

"Can you... keep a secret? Dr. Chronis?"

An uncharacteristic whisper emanates from the girl as she stares at the blank screen in front of her.

Kinda wish that I had failed either rolls... Now I don't know what to do lol.

Hello luca! I can answer a few of the questions:

1) Admin = voice
2) Military = fighter, Professional = rogue, Scientist = wizard
3) You can take any feat from the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and D20ModernPath as talents. Run it buy Voice first as some can be quite useless in this game.

4-6) Idk, wait for voice to answer these.

Sense Motive: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14 Penalty due to Michelle actively trying to be inconspicuous towards Micaiah.

"♪~♫" Humming a familiar tune while holding a bottle of Nurishall condensed nutrient paste in each hand, Micaiah returns to the cockpit and plops down into the Operations Engineer station. The monitors flicker to life one after another as she tests out the newly repaired systems while absentmindedly taking a swig from the straw. Mmm! Pineapple.

"Lovely!" Satisfied with the efficacy of the repairs, she patches into the hull monitoring system and calls through the comm: [Testing, testing, Micaiah here. EVA team, do you copy?] Trying to adjust the external cameras to focus on the EVA team while waiting for their reply, she finds that some of the cameras are already occupied.

Huh? Someone's peekiiiiiiiiing. Grinning sheepishly, she tries to override the security barrier and tap into the image feed from the occupied cameras.

Defeating computer security: Knowledge - Technology: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 VS. DC 25 - Average security; as per the skill description on Modern.

Infrared?! Micaiah startles a little as the her screen shows thermal images of the EVA team from multiple angles. Who would... "Dr. Williams?!" She blurts out when she saw the user ID. Come to think of it, she has been acting strange ever since we landed... Realizing that she is looking at something that is not meant to be seen, she quickly logs off of the monitoring system and leans back into her seat. I don't understand... Maybe she does not trust us?

I shouldn't be hiding like this. What if they need my help? Dad always said to run towards rather then away from challenges.

Realizing that she too has a responsibility to the crew, Micaiah slips down from the maintenance hatch and grabs Jack's range pack from the avionics station. Bouncing over to the airlock, she hands Jack the bag and declares enthusiastically:

"Here you go Jack! I'll be standing by at my station if you need me. Good luck you too!"

She taps her head set and beams a smile at Jack and Gunny.

Whoa. Character growth moment.

EVA?! Ugh... I don't want to go outside! There could be evil aliens...

Micaiah squirms a little as Jack and Isaacsohn's discussion echoes into the maintenance tunnel in the ceiling.

Maybe they'll forget about me if I hide up here for a while...

Write Program: A character can create a program to help with a specific task. Doing so grants the character a +2 circumstance bonus to the task. A specific task, in this case, is one type of operation with one target. The DC to write a program is 20; the time required is 1 hour.

1 type of op. with one target: Op = Mimic core functions of sensor control module. Target = an auxiliary module.

Not necessarily. Some of us have been chatting with the DM on the other site and he's been providing some additional information. In a way, it makes it easier as we each have consoles and computers and tablets designed for specific things. Some information is accessible to others that isn't (immediately) accessible to all.

Oh I get it. So Dr. Williams can access additional records with her clearance, and those records led her to the sabotage conclusion. Right?

I am interested as well. Is that a fact or a conjecture Dr. Williams?

I'm just sitting back watching you guys fix everything. I saw that most everything was covered and I only have knowledge (tactics). As I level I plan on learning from people a few things and take some skills to account for it.

I'm just a simple soldier/pilot lol. We get attacked though, you'll be glad to have me!

Don't worry Mr. Hayes. Micaiah has plans for you! Someone has to test out all the mech walkers and aerial vehicles she's gona be making right? :)

Micaiah pokes her head out from a maintenance hatch on the ceiling.

"Hmm... The external sensors can't be all broken - being out on the hull they are built to withstand re-entry. It's more likely that their control and power module got overloaded during the landing. See if you can recreate their functions with the backup modules." She points towards the Operations Engineer station with a wrench in her hand. "Oh, and you can call me Micaiah Mr. Isaacsohn!" She beams Gunny a smile and disappears back into the hatch.

To recreate a program is a Knowledge - Technology roll. You can probably get a +2 by accessing the Master Index, which is like a blueprint for the OS of the shuttle.

"Mmmhmm!" Micaiah hums in agreement from the craw space beneath the floor. "Beautifully said Mr. Yogh! You sound just like my dad!"

Xzavier is right. Guilty as charged. Plus being on summer break helps :)

My last post will be the only one from me today that drives the story. The rest will be rping or ret-cons.

Micaiah opens her eyes slowly as she recovers from the shock of the crash landing.

Am I dead? Is this heaven? Still stunned by the rough landing, she scans the cockpit and spots Dr. Williams addressing the crew, her voice distant and echoey. Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 7 Wow. Her hair is so long and pretty.

Her gaze then shifts to Jack, who has gotten up and appears to be talking to her. Why are you talking so quietly Jack? Wanting to get closer to hear what he is saying, she unstraps the seat belts and tries to stand up. A wall of noise slams into her as her hearing recovers, however, and sends her reeling back onto the fabric. Ugh. Looks like I'm still alive... She slaps her cheeks and shakes her head to clear away the remaining grogginess, and manages to get the just of what Jack is saying.

"Good idea Jack." She rises carefully from her seat and catches a glimpse of the alien environment just outside of the cockpit windows. "I just hope we don't have to go outside for the repairs." Micaiah then makes her way to one of the still functional terminals and downloads a copy of the shuttle's blueprint (Masterwork reference: +2 to repair rolls) while checking to make sure that life support is the only critical system that is broken. Satisfied that the damages to the other systems are superficial, she exclaims merrily: "Alright everyone! Grab a copy of the blueprint and lets get started!"

Craft - Mechanical: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 13 + 2 + 2 = 29

While on her way to the engineering sections, Micaiah passes by Michelle and notices that she is working on a statistics program. "Here Dr. Williams; these references will make that a little easier." The tablet displays a progress meter as the girl lays a finger on it. She smiles broadly at Michelle as the download finishes, and continues on towards the engineering sections.

Sorry about the god modding Michelle. You now have all of the references listed under Socrates from the equipment section in Micaiah's profile. If anyone else needs them, she gives to you aswell.

This goes before the re-entry sequence.
Micaiah smiles broadly at Jack's suggestion.

"Ok! Mr... I mean Royce. But may I call you Jack instead.. UAAAAHH!!" Before she could finish her sentence, the shuttle lurches violently as it jettisons itself from the Avalon and accelerates away from the doomed vessel. As quickly as it started, the shaking stopped when the craft reaches stable flight.

"I meant to say..." She pulses to catch her breath, and continues: "That I did re-entry training MANY times and it's a piece of ca.. AIEEEEE!!" She is again interrupted, this time by the shock of the shuttle impacting the planet's atmosphere. She shuts her eyes tightly and grips onto the seat handles as the craft plunges towards the surface. I wana go home...

And for good measure. Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 obviously she has done this before ;)

Alright, have to roll with the punches. Let me think...

Well actually... I kinda did...

Assuming our repairs did the trick.

Micaiah returns to her station and pulls up the status display as she calls through the intercom:

"Whatever you did just worked Mr. Royce! The systems is showing all green! We are ready to launch!"

She then straps herself into the seat, slips on her helmet, and leans back.

Dad, Diana, Uncle Nicolai... Please watch over us.

Realizing that some of the shuttle's systems were damaged by the explosions, Micaiah calls out into her headset and through the intercom:

"Um... Micaiah here! I'm seeing damages in Section A panel 1 and Section C panel 3. I'm on my way to Section C. Mr. Royce, can you see to Section A?"

She then unstraps herself from her seat and dashes through the maintenance channel to Section C. Smoke and sparks greet her as she removes the panel from the main frame enclosure.

Ugh. Not good. Grabbing a nearby extinguisher, she blasts away the fire from the opening and looks inside. The circuit module appears badly burnt.

Grabbing some tools from her tool belt, Micaiah attempts to repair the module. Craft - Electronic: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 Gona assume she failed. It's too badly damaged. I'll have to reroute the critical functions.

She closes the panel and activates the terminal besides the main frame, pulling up the Master Index while trying to pinpoint the specific functions of the burnt module. Knowledge - Technology: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 If that is a success then the following takes place. If not just ignore it.

Mostly relay functions. That explains the sluggishness of the system. I should be able to route them through the auxiliary modules... Craft - Electronic: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 Wow... the dice gods love me today :) "There! Lovely!" Micaiah exclaims merrily as the relay shows green, and then realizes her headset is still on. "Ahem... I mean... Micahah is happy to report that Section C is good to go!"

Mr. Royce! Thank goodness!

A sense of relief washes over Micaiah as Jack's voice rings true over the echoes of explosions and grinding metal. "I'm on it Mr. Royce!" Her voice quivers slightly from the adrenaline as she make's her way to the cockpit and straps her self into the Operations Engineer station. Calm down Micaiah. Remember your training. She reassures herself and focuses on the instruments as the escape shuttle's systems come to life one after another.

Well Micaiah would certainly appreciate the feminine hygiene products! XD
