Hmm...didn't expect that from yourself, little one. 1st Round Action: Meselleth goes from calm indifference to snarling wild feline in an instant. Dropping into a crouch she snarles in defiance at the rampaging beast. DM's information: Meselleth plans to try and jump to one side, then pounce upon the creature once it has gone past. Yes, I know the corridor is relatively narrow at 10' across, so the beast may still get an attack in on Meselleth.
Acrobatics:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 (To jump to one side. Plus 'Full Defense' much like Relio )
Meselleth turns her head just enough to look at the Medusa's figure from the corner of a golden eye. "I am Meseleth Am Ra Tet. I am free," And she turns her gaze fully again upon the corridor and what ever approaches. "AND I WILL RUN NO MORE!" She snarls in rage and defiance out into the hallway. Intimidate:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
The Sphinx continues to sit, inscrutable, for a few more moments. The actions of the small Wyrming eliciting no reactions from herself. The mind of the beast:
A useful talent. I must convince the small one to d the same for me.....but without said little one from harming myself of course....
Now...how to work things around so as not to appear to ask.... Once this new door has opened and the Medusa...and possibly the Wyrmling have walked through the Sphinx rises...stretches..and languidly drops to the floor to follow in their general direction.
Assuming Meseleth's skills are not enough to remove her bindings... The Sphinx finishes her exploration of her remaining confinement, but watches the actions of the Medusa with an impartial and aloof gaze. She continues to sit, tail flicking. The mind of the beast: So....there is another skulking about. Interesting. The cause of the Mage's death has also been reduced by two, since it was neither myself nor the Medusa who lead to his demise......
Thoughts of the beast:
She wakes...slowly. The pain is gone...but unlike her usual existence there is....light...and sounds......She listens, even as she slowly, carefully begins to check and mentally examine all the parts of herself. Starting at her head and slowly taking inventory down her shoulders, into her body and limbs.
She hears the voices but other than taking note of them concentrates upon herself. Curled slightly upon her side, she is aware that the surface she rests upon is not the usual stone floor but a different, thought still unyielding surface. Sure that all the parts of herself will respond as they should she slowly stirs. With deliberate, languid motions the reasonably sized feline figure stretches. Forelimbs stretching forth even as a sinuous wave of muscle action flexes the Sphinxe's body. Even as her eyes lift to roam half lidded about the room, one paw relaxes -the sharp claws of which hook upon the edge of the slab there-on which she rests as she comes to 'sit up'. Golden eyes slide slowly from one side to the other. Taking in the form of the reptile, the smaller humanoid also sitting, the non-moving...thing upon its slab. The empty spaced slab and the prone figure upon the floor. The only indication of the feline's mood, the languid flick and twitch from the end of her tail where it shifts upon the edge of the marble slab on which the Sphinx now reclines. Perception:1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19 Her eyes come to rest upon the figure lying on the floor and for a few more moments....the Sphinx waits...ears gently turning...before she rises fluidly only to bonelessly drop down onto the room's floor herself and pad purposefully over to the deceased tormentor. Her still hooded golden eyes continue to shift slowly between the woman and the reptile, even as she lowers her head and hooks the dead Mage's shirt with a fang before dragging the corpse back over to the slab upon which shed awakened. Demurely sitting, tail tip flicking, she makes short work first of 'peeling' the body from its cloth and linen wrappings with deft use of claw slices and paw flipping. Once so 'cleaned up' it a quick matter of devouring the more choice portions. The already open wound allowing easy access to the liver, the kidneys...a couple of the other, soft and tender morsels. With a final ripping and tearing she finishes with a few chunks of rump before again standing and lifting her frame back up on to the marble slab. That upon which she's fed now seemingly forgotten. Coming to sit, tail curled about her hind paws as she begins to meticulously, deftly, and thoroughly clean herself. Large , half-lidded, golden eyes still slowly watching the actions of the others in the room......tail still slowly flicking. |
