After the hag leaps overboard, Merkava just stumbles back from the remaining hag, not killing her. He lifts and lowers the axe. "I feel, so, weak.. Kyra.. Can you do anything for me?" Thanks for going with option "B" folks.. I'll do what I can!
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Team.. I'll be AFK for the next week.. and when I get back I start a 60 day certification class that is going to absorb all of my spare time.. I won't be able to check in every day.. We can either
I think B sounds best to me, if you are okay with it. I promise no retro-active whining if I don't like what you've done with him. Let me know what ya'll think. Mike

I put my foot on the unconscious hag and lower my axe to her throat. "Oh my, this axe is so heavy. Not sure I can hold it back much longer. Give me back my strength you sea witch or I'll end your sister right now." Well, you never know...
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
I charge hag 3: Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
I swap Init and attack: Init = 18. Attack = 19 (that should have been +8 to attack) You shot at Hag 3, right, Morg? Right?
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
I hold my action, staring menacingly at the closest sea hag... hoping someone better at talking than me will talk.. I do ready an attack, which I will unleash if any of the sea hags come at me aggressively. Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Uh, I swap Init and attack roles. Attack = 22, Init = 12
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
"SEA HAGS BAD!! Help the beasts!! Explain later!! " I roar as I double move to 4T. As I move I unlimber my battleaxe and grip it in both hands (since I am shieldless) and square off against the closest sea hag. I think my AC is 19 now. I'm down a shield, which is +2 normally Forgot my init roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Sorry, do I have all my weapons on me? Do I assume I strapped on my weapon belt that carries my battle axe and throwing axes? Also, am I able to move and attack this round or are my movements done?
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Ah, I forgot I could SLEEP in my chain shirt, not put it on quickly. So, I would have slept in it since that doesn't fatigue me. Merkava thrashes around in his sheets, trying to get out of bed.
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Nivel said he woke us.. So I'll assume he did.. If not, this is what I will do when I finally wake up.. "Whu-- SNORT! Let's go!" I slip on my chain shirt, grab my spear (sorry, no magic helmet yet), don my weapons belt and follow Nivel. Perception roll just in case I wasn't actually woken up: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Merkava, secretly annoyed that there wasn't a fight and bummed Morg didn't acknowledge his awesome gesture of friendship, simply turns in for the night. "I'm there if you need me! Just shout.. Or scream.. I'd prefer if you shouted before you screamed.."
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
I examine the nets. "Ugh.. Too cumbersome for a fighting net. Well, I'll just stow them here just in case" I put them in an organized pile at S13. "If these are in the way, let me know and I'll take them to the hold." I notice Morg and his crossbow. I move between Morg and the girl, but turn my back on Morg. Over my shoulder I talk to him, "Morg, seems like you've been through a lot. Me, Gris, Fyrin, and Nivel have been too. We fight for each other, and we've all nearly died for each other. You helped us on the docks, and that makes you part of us now." I make a show of thumping the butt of my spear down solidly and setting my shoulders square on the girl. "I'm here for you. Right now. Right here. But, it might help us all if you'd just lower the crossbow. I'm not saying unload it. I'm not saying put it away. I'm just asking you to maybe point it at the deck. If she's not what she seems, she'll have to come through me first. You'll have time to bring it to bear."
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Game play question. If Merkava is holding the spear in his off hand, and not using it to attack, do I take an attack penalty. I see a construct like this: Letting go of my spear with my strong hand, using a free action to pull a throwing axe, throwing the axe, and then regrabbing the spear for an attack next round. Any penalties in there?
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
(pre ship showing up..) "You sound just like my dad when you say that..." After ship shows up.. Merkava arms himself with his new long spear, sees everyone paying attention to the new boat, mumbles "When the skeletons bang their shields, be sure to look around..." He heads to the rail AWAY from the boat and examines the seas in that direction (somewhere amidships).

However, you CAN make a Craft (Wpn) check untrained.. So... Here it goes.. One roll for each harpoon. 1d20 ⇒ 6
BAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAA BAHAHAHAHAHAAAA The dice continues to keep my character honest..
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Can the Harpoons be fixed with an engineering check (I took a rank this level)? I'll work on them all day, taking 20 for each.. Total 24 roll to repair each one. Seems like the night shift is covered pretty well, so I'll sleep. I can get moving quick enough...

I try to ply the crew with my amazing diplomacy talents, after all.. I worked as a bouncer, I know these salt of the earth types. "This a great ship! Does it get attacked by giant man crushing crabs often?" Diplomacy roll: 1d20 ⇒ 6 My curiosity also keeps me moving about the ship. I just like looking at things, but, of course if anything out of place catches my eye... Perception roll:1d20 ⇒ 15
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
I clank onto the ship with some extra gear. I'm adding a long spear and two throwing axes to my arsenal. I also bring two weeks of rations. On the ship I add my strength to the crew where needed and stand watch as needed also.

I do my best to enjoy the feast, but my injuries beleaguer me through the evening. The townspeople are happy to bring me food and tasty crab meat, and I try to put on a good show for the young lads, but the truth is, it hurts. As the night appears to be drawing to a close, I keep my eye on our new healer. When I feel she is about to retire for the night, I approach her. "I appreciate all you've done for me already today, but if you have any healing spells left to give before you return to pray, I could sure use them." Unless we are playing Warcraft (total heal on a level up) rules, I'm still at less than half HP. I'm in no shape to go on a boat at this point.
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Wadda ya think? Power Attack, Opening volley (if I hit ranged, +4 on next melee), Stand Still (baddies have to survive a combat maneuver to walk by me) or Mobility (+4 to AC when moving through a threatened area) or other suggestions.
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
"Stupid crabs hit hard! Thanks, Kyra!" I 5-foot step to O6 (where the dead crab is. If I can't I'll 5 foot to O7. "Gris! FLANK!" I attack, fighting defensively: Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
AC = 23 this round. I totally swap rolls:

"Errr.. Right.. The big one.. yyyaaaaaaAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!" I drop my cross bow as I CHARGE across the boat, draw my axe and head right for the big crab, trusting Gris is on his way. Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
I swap Init and Attack rolls. Total attack roll: 23, Init: 11 My AC is 19 until next turn.
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
I would have readied my crossbow immediately upon moving up to the dock, wielding it one handed while I readied my shield. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think any of us can close with the crabs and melee attack this round. I move to M8 and loose a round at crab 2. Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Seriously, 3 potential crits in one round?!? Crit confirm: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 2 = 20
WOOT!!

I traded my battle axe for a master work axe (gave dad his axe back) Also picked up a couple thunderstones and four sunrods. I really liked those sunrods. I updated my profile with all gear. Ready to rock!

Hi there.. 39, married, professional, living in Hawaii.. I like long walks on the beach, scuba diving, and my sign is Leo... Oh, wait.. Wrong website. Seriously though. I typically post once, and last of the group, pretty much every day because of my time zone. I hope of of these new guys have some charisma and diplomacy skills!

I'll take the light crossbow if no one else wants it. I like to open with a shot.
We never used the scroll. We offered it to Fiyrin after the leech worms but he didn't use it. I used 1x oil of magic weapon. All CLW are used.
The rest I didn't touch. I thought we could offer the bracers, the wand, and the spell book up to our new team mates.
Male Human Lvl 3 Fighter, AC: (21/13/18), HP: 29, Fort +5 Ref +3 Will +1 (+2 vs. charm/compulsion, +1 vs. fear)
Gris can have the armor. I like my chain shirt for now. And I took Kassen's shield earlier anyway. I will take the sword, it's the only magical weapon we have. Using it is a bit of a wash with my axe bonus, but it may come in handy. I kind of feel like all the arcane stuff we should offer as booty to any arcane caster we can recruit to join our team. I mean a real player. If we are going to continue on, we really need an arcane caster. If we let them come in as lvl 3 maybe, with this booty, we may be able to get someone to join us midstride here.
