Wow! And cool! Sounds like quite the piece of work. Thanks for the effort, Erik and everyone else. I'm sure this will be a really great addition. Can I ask one, more specific, yes/no question that will specifically help me make some decisions that need to be made before this time next week (say, by next game/Tuesday)? That is: With the conversion notes for Eberron, are there (in Overload, or planned for future adventures) any changes more invasive/custom than just filing off some names and replacing them? Examples would be an alternate statblock for an NPC to make it Dragonmarked, warforged, etc.; a note to substitute the +3 bastard sword for a warforged component; or something of that nature. After seeing the enhancement for #124, I'm sure the 'fluff' will be fine, but what about the 'crunch' of the campaign? Not every installment, either, but a couple, at least. I'm not looking for details, just a "yes" or a "no". ![]()
![]() Okay, back to Age of Worms and Eberron. My question is this: Will the web enhancements for future installments include an occasional conversion of an NPC to one of the Eberron races? Or, notes on Eberron-specific monsters/treasurs/etc. to substitute? I'm looking at running AoW as a very low-maintenance "campaign in a box" and my group is interested in trying out Eberron. If nothing Eberron-specific is included in any of the adventures, it seems pointless to bother running it on Eberron, since any old campaign setting would do. I liked the enhancement for #124, but if that's all that is forthcoming on the matter, then I have a really, really hard time actually finding value in the Eberron "conversion".

===================================== Description: Standing three feet tall when standing up straight, this black-scaled Kobold seems to prefer to stand hunched over, ever on the lookout for something ready to bring him harm. Dra’zaak, the name the Kobold was given at birth, wears a suit of leather armor and carries with him an array of weaponry and alchemical items. From a variety of arrows to flasks of holy water, he looks as if he’s always ready for a demon’s attack. Which, given his profession of choice, is a very reasonable assumption. Personality: Dra’zaak is a bit of a loner by nature. He is cautious, ever-alert, and always expecting something to go wrong. He’s someone who prefers to be self-sufficient when possible, but he’s not against teamwork when the need arises. That being said, he’s one to do anything to survive - anything except sacrificing his fellows, of course. Background: Dra’zaak was almost your average kobold. Almost born into an average tribe of kobolds living in Mendev, it was almost fated that Dra’zaak be born into a hard life of mining, trapmaking, and lair-defending. Almost. Desna chose otherwise. Instead, the tribe that had birthed him was slaughtered to the kobold by a group of adventurers who had been hired to clear the next of the ‘vermin’ that had plagued the area. These adventurers, after having overcome all of the tribes’ traps, hazards, and defenders, had found the tribes’ nursery, in which were a small number of eggs. Without remorse, the group’s leader had them all destroyed. It was only after they were gone that the group’s cleric, a fervent worshipper of Desna, found an egg apart from the rest; this egg had somehow been separated from the others and was thus, spared destruction. Having already felt remorse for destroying the other eggs, this kind-hearted Desnan priest smuggled this last remaining egg out with her, eventually raising the young kobold herself. This young kobold, luck would have it, was none other than Dra’zaak. |
