Menas accepts the healing from Yendi once again, "Remind me that I owe you after we finish killing this demon lord."

With that, Menas flies over to where the hand is and tries to steel his mind against the terror of fighting such a powerful foe.

With his mind secure, he tries to ax-kick the hand beneath him with a trail of teeth slicing behind his heel.

To be clear, I'm delaying for now in case I get healed. I don't think my free healing potion is going to cut it. It I don't get healed, I'll probably cast my last mirror image spell to hopefully not die

At the beginning of the scenario, I meant to hand out a Snapleaf to everyone, but I don't believe I ever did. I carry 6 at all times specifically to give out since most characters don't have an armor talisman.

In case it comes up, hopefully, the GM allows you to have one. They have saved the life of a few party members previously.

Menas is unsure what the best course of action is and is no out of teleportation abilities. He curses under his breath that he should have seen this coming. Regardless, with the earth threatening to tear open, he figures he should at least get off the ground.

Oh, I guess that's true that penalties to AC wouldn't apply if you targetted a non-AC defense regardless of it being a spell attack roll. I'd be willing to bet that you're probably right about targeting the fort save.

That is one heck of a Searing Light. 38 vs frightened 1 for a ton of damage. You might have just blasted him into dust. Now I wish I gave you flanking in case you're 1 or 2 points of a crit.

I will wait to act until after Yendi in case someone sets up flanking for my current position.

Menas takes his hasted stride to the bottom of the ring, close to the Demonic spirit and then tumbles forward through space as he teleports from one side of the ring to the other. Appearing in mid-air behind the spirit, he throws an axe kick as he falls to the ground. "Surprise."

Means casually paces around the circle of fire towards the last rune and casts a Haste spell on himself, "Only one remains and then I'll be coming for you. Surrender now and leave the material plane before we banish you ourselves."

With the concealment of Ki Rush paying off (somehow), Menas dashes over to the next rune to disable it. "Your powers are fading. Leave the material plane or we'll be forced to make you leave it."

If the troll deals no damage to me:
Menas strides over to the rune to his right and attempts to disable it.

If the troll deals damage to me:
I will stride to halfway between my current rune and the rune to my right, draw a free lesser healing potion, and drink it for 2d8+5 healing.

Reminder that I'd be concealed for the troll's attacks so that bite may miss me, and the result could affect what I'm doing for this turn. Not sure how you want to add it, but if you did Concealment>attack, the 1st attack would pass Concealment, then miss with a nat 1, then the second attack would pass Concealment, but it hasn't rolled to hit yet. Up to you how to add them in, though!

Menas feels a minor headache as the spirit assails his mind. However, he doesn't let the spell nor the troll slow him down as he focuses his inner ki into a burst of speed that propels him to the next rune.

Menas holds his shield before him as the lightning bolt slams into the eldritch runes etched onto it. The lightning bolt absorbs into the shield causing it to glow before expelling the excess energy into Menas' arm "You'll need to do better than that if you're actually trying to kill me."

Menas moves to the rune directly north of him and tries to disable it.

Just curious, is it possible to learn Cyclops in society? It's not on the list of languages. Am I just missing an expanded list of legal languages for society play?

Means dashes over to behind the remaining demon while chanting an incantation. His arm glows with magic as he unleashes a kick that leaves a trail behind it that turns into a gaping maw.

Menas is a little too busy right now to give his thanks to Yendi once again, but he realizes its time for additional defense and casts Mirror Image. He then teleports behind demon 3 with Dimensional Assault.

I Wish I could have afforded some fire resistance this game, but I didn't have enough gold laying around.

Menas once again drops to the ground as fireballs sail overhead. Unfortunately, one manages to still explode close enough to cause injury while the other misses entirely. "My thanks Yendi."

Unfortunately, mental resistance is one of the things Menas severely lacks, and he becomes quite frightened by the massive undead dragon; but come on, who wouldn't be?

Regardless, Menas decides it's time to spread out from fireball formation and deal with the enemies in front of him. He takes his quickened stride over to the Brimorak threatening Ukh and unleashes a powerful spellstrike.

Menas instinctively twists his body to the floor to dodge the blast from the fireball, only allowing part of the blast to scorch his clothes. He then kips up from the ground and speeds himself up with magical energy.

Menas isn't perceptive in general, making detecting the flares early basically impossible. Regardless, he relies on innate reflexes to dodge things that he may not be consciously aware of.

Menas manages to deflect a flaming tree branch that threatened to impale him with his arm, though it still leaves a small gash.

Utilizing his magical knowledge, Menas tries to disable the storm. He ignores the immediate danger to himself as he tries to save the others around him. He glances over to Thereus, "Make sure you keep those prayers to yourself; I want no aid from the gods. This is our challenge, not theirs."

Can we Take Cover with the 3rd action? I'm not sure what else I can do with my 1 action in this situation. Menas is, like most of my characters, from Rahadoum so I will be lightly anti-religious. Please do not take offense to his in-character statements and I will also not be any more aggressive about it than the above statement.

That said, because this is a bit unexpected, I have a REALLY weird idea I want to try. I've GM'd this scenario 3 times already, all of them on Roll20. However, if you don't want the music on, just go to the gear icon in the upper-right corner and turn the "master music volume level" slider bar all the way down.

Menas only manages to make it halfway up the bone pillar before part of the tower comes loose, nearly knocking him off. Reevaluating his options, he decides on a slightly different route to finish his mission.

Once he grabs the orb, he leaps off the tower and lands easily on his feet at the bottom. He begins to investigate the orb, but it quickly disintegrates in his hand.

"Pathfinders, regroup. We're returning to our forward base." he says as he heads back to meet with his team.

Menas nods as his group meets and discusses before selecting a ritual site. "Pathfinder group A on me. We are heading to ritual site one."

Once there, he directs the less-experienced agents to secure the area, "Stick together and patrol the outside. I'll grab the orb from the top."

Menas then lightly but quickly dashes up the pillar of bones to the orb's resting place.

Thereus, do you mind if I take acrobatics (ritual 1)? I see you're equal at acrobatics and stealth (ritual 7), so maybe you could take that one? I don't want to steal your thunder if you'd rather do both rituals though, in which case I can move to a different one.

Another agent teleports on-site wearing loose-fitting desert clothes of white and gold, "Sorry I'm late. I just received a letter from 'Venture Captain T' that suggested I assist this mission as it was quite urgent. I understand we are a bit short-staffed when it comes to highly experienced agents. Menas Redwall reporting."

After getting a breakdown of what's happening Menas discusses his abilities, "I'm a magus so I feel confident interacting with magical ritual sites. I'll admit I'm not much of a leader, but I'll try to lead by example and action rather than words. Hopefully, that will be enough to inspire our less experienced agents."

I'm good at Arcana and Occultism, but I'm only +8 in Diplomacy.

Looking at the rituals now; I'm a master in Acrobatics so I can likely handle ritual 1 with ease. I can definitely do ritual 2. Rituals 5, 7, and 10 are possible for me, but I'm only trained (+13) in those skills. I can technically attempt 3, but I'm only +11 there.

Nope, not you. Mainly a mix of the scenario, PbP format, and the design of 2e. I much prefer playing the system in real time, where I think it shines much better. I think I'll stick to 1e for PbP games.

I believe it means that everything will be the same as low tier, but any enemies will have +1 to all their rolls, stats, saves, etc and any DCs will be +1 as well. That's just my quick reading understanding of level bump.

The problem with the current PFS dayjob rolls is that the rules do give us a DC to roll against, your level -2, so it's DC 0 at level 1 and 2, but then fail to give us a "task level" to compare our results to. Apparently John Compton cleared this up by saying the rules were meant to say that actually task level is equal to your level -2 and the DC is based on your level using the scaling level chart. I think I still prefer the 3 points in a school for free potions over being a field commissioned agent, but its hard to tell this early on.

Edit: The guide has been updated and does confirm this, task level is level -2 and the DC uses the DC by level chart. Still no mention of how using alternate skills to earn money, like athletics, works even though the book says it works at a higher DC

Dayjob, still trying to figure out what how this works or if I can even use athletics. The rulebook says I can use any skill, but at a higher DC, but the guide doesn't list what that DC is. I also can't find what task level we are rolling at, but it seems like the DC is 0 and I just rolled a critical success?

Edit: Well after a quick perusal of dayjobs to earn income and how you cannot actually do so right now under the current guide, I guess I'll switch from field commissioned agent to 3pt swords school member and take my 2 free minor healing potions every game.
