You don't know his first name, he introduced himself as Marinelli.

"Good connections into the circles that have real money to spend is what helps most. Just tell Gorm once you got something we can put our money on. Have a nice day."

Marinelli again shakes Menan's hand and then leaves to pay Gorm another visit.

Marinelli's appearance is much like that of the ladies from your tea party. He obviously got the dress from the same tailor as you, has the rings on his finger and the gold chain around his neck. The upright posture. But his choice of words lacks the distinction. He is a businessman.

He seems like a polite, charming character, entirely different from Gorm. You notice no devious tendencies.

"I'm always interested in new business opportunities. But our business is here in Abadon. Every business you bring here is good business. But we act as a trade center. You have someone who wants to sell their stuff either to someone in Abadon and we unload your ship for you."

"Or you want to sell something to... I don't know, Katapesh. But it's only three crates full of wares. And you ship it here, we store it for you and load it on the next ship going there. Booking the cargo space on the ships is on you."

"We do a little trading our self, but only in small amounts of high priced consumables. If for example you have someone who sells an expensive beverage that is fashionable in Kyonin that would be of interest. From the looks I'd assume you're moving in upper social circles. If you have connections to those of Ababon then that would become a real business opportunity."

"As you appear as one making connections, I assume you don't want to invest your own money into that."

Sense Motive DC13:
"don't want to invest your own money" is an euphemism for "you don't have the money" put nicely for diplomatic reasons.

"If that is the case, I'm willing to invest. You name something interesting that could be sold as fancy elven stuff that you would promote to the rich in Abadon. It needs to be something shelf stable. If that works out, you'd get a share of the profit."

"Fresh air is better than the office right? Shall we go on a walk?" Marinelli suggests.

"That sounds all a bit vague. What's your plan? You bring elven wares to my warehouse by organizing that transport? Sounds good. Just tell me what your wares are and I'll tell you what I'm interested in."

"But tell me more about your contacts. It there someone I might have heard of?"

"I forgot about the details already, but if I got it right, you have connections. That's worth something. Whom exactly do you know and how would that benefit trade?"

Marinelli comes fashionably late. He is in a good mood as he walks onto the premises of the company. Taking a quick look inside through the window in the door he finds no one in there that matches the description of the guy he is going to meet.

He looks around and sees Menan just outside at the water. He walks over. "Hey, there. You must be the guy I'm supposed to meet. What is your name again? I'm Marinelli." He offers a hand.
