Male Human Cleric 1
Marros smacks his hand on Guy's shoulder and says with a big smile, "I second that! Our only goal is to please!" Marros steps away from Guy and toward Falroun, grabbing his hand and shaking. The tall, pale man asks, "And what brings you here my friend? What can we do for you today?"
Just outside The Temple of The Shining Star lies a bench just under the shade of a tree. Sitting there is a tall lean figure wearing a cloak, reading a book. The man looks up from the pages and smiles slightly, taking in the warm air and slight breeze that waves his slightly long hair. "Probably going to need to cut this soon," he says to himself. "Couldn't have asked for a nicer day."
Hello. The moment I discovered Pathfinder, I knew I wanted to play a spellcaster, such as a cleric. I am still a little fuzzy with casting though. I know that ranged touch attacks are automatic hits and you just roll damage, but how would one go about casting a spell like obscuring mist? What do I need to roll for? I've tried reading the rulebook, but I am still unsure. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Marros looks over his shoulder and says, "Inspiring is always a good tactic for battle. The blessing of Pharasma inspires me to fight for her glory, but having a little more inspiration is always good!" Marros looks back to the dummy and takes another swing.
"Pharasma is good to me as always! Much better! A little more focus went a long way!" he shouts.
Marros looks to Dalinia and smiles. "Marros Shipsail. It's a pleasure to meet you. As well as you Valeria. I came here to hopefully hone in my skills a little. I have been travelling a long way to make here to Absalom. Some of my skills could use some touching up. Such as my handling of this scimitar. I prefer my dagger, but sometimes you need to get in a little extra blow to make sure your enemies stay down. " Marros turns back to the dummy, the icicles melted away now. He takes out his scimitar and takes a swing at the dummy. To Hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 The weight of the scimitar seems to throw off Marros's swing, but he quickly readjusts, striking the target on the neck. "That could have gone bad." says Marros, still looking at the dummy, seeming to be focused.
Marros whispers to himself, "I need to find me one of those mounts." Marros walks up to one of the dummies. "It's time to put these skills to the test! It's been awhile since I have had to use some of these skills! Pharasma, guide me." Marros lifts up his hands as he says the last sentence and focuses on the dummy. Ice shoots from his hand, hitting true his target. "Not too bad. Just need some bigger icicles!" He says with a large laugh.
A tall man wearing a hood to cover a majority of his face emerges from the edge of the field, clapping. "That was some great work you did there!" he shouts, "Looks like practice makes perfect!" He removes his hood and sports a large smile. Putting down his backpack, he asks, "Do you mind if I practice some of my skills while I'm here? I don't want to be intruding on your space that's needed for skills like that."
Marros looks to the young woman and smiles. "I could probably use my skills in constructing homes to good use when I'm not out adventuring. I built many homes for my growing village when I was growing up. Marros looks down to the floor, a glum look goes across his face. "I wonder if they are doing okay," he whispers to himself. He looks back up and shakes his head slightly. He smiles again. Sorry about that! Just a little homesick is all!"
Marros looks to the bat and laughs a little. "It definitely isn't an option for me, my friend. It will be an inn for me tonight." He turns his attention to the tengu and says, "And you, my friend, make a good point. Saving some coin could be very nice, as I don't have much of it. As I said, it will be one night so it shouldn't make a huge dent in my pack, unless this is a very nice inn. Then I'll be hurting for some coin!" Marros lets out a loud laugh and sports a huge smile.
"I am going to meet with Venture-Captain Valsin tomorrow and just need a place to stay for one night," Marros says with a smile and a nod. "I am very excited to start my training and don't think I will be able to sleep much, nut having a place to stay and try would be nice. Just point to any one of the inns and that will make due!"
Marros looks to the hooded figure and says "No worries my friend! I'm sure I can find someone to help! There are many people in this city, so I am not worried about finding help!" Marros gets up from his seat. He looks around the room, then back at the hooded figure and asks, "Do you happen to know where I can purchase a room for the night?"
Marros puts his book down and looks at her with awe,
Marros looks over at Yoshimi, looking the figure up and down. After a moment of examining Yoshimi, he makes eye contact. "Pharasma looks over me and many, protecting us from the undead. With a blessing like that, you shall be safe from any of those vial creatures." As he talks, he takes off his backpack and lays it on the table, giving a look of relief, as if he had been carrying this pack for a long time.

(Just as a heads up, this will be my first PFS game. I've played a good amount of home adventures though.) |
