A great wrap up for a fantastic game.

Thanks to GM_DBH for a brilliantly run game, and thanks to my fellow PCs for being such great shipmates. I've had such a great time playing Marnir for the last five years, and I'm probably more sad about the end of my time with him than I've ever been about a PC before.

However, I'm looking forward to starting a new adventure with you all. I'm happy to go with Kung's ranking for the next AP.

Looks like we got to a shortlist of Hell's Rebels, War for the Crown, and Curse of the Crimson Throne. Apparently I theorycrafted some characters, but I can't for the life of me remember who they were!

That's a lot of loot for PCs that don't really need loot anymore.

Marnir is grateful to feel the warmth of Niobe's healing soothe his wounds, and he relishes the look of confusion on Bonefist's face his mind is shattered by Cally's hex. Howling in triumph Marnir times his attacks with Kung's to hack down the traitorous pirate lord, his blood spraying across the wet gunpowder as Bonefist crumples to the floor dead.

Reaching down, Marnir takes the Hurricane Crown from Bonefist's head. He looks it over, feeling the power it contains course through his entire being. "This is it. This is what we've been fighting for, what we've bled for," he says, somewhat overcome by the gravity of what they've just done.

I can't believe it's nearly over, nor that it's been five years.

I've had so much fun with this game, it's had so many cool characters, and has been run fantastically throughout.

We had a discussion about the next AP previously, I'll have to go back and have a look at what we said. A fifth player would be a good addition though.

Marnir grimaces as Bonefist's blade strikes home over and over again, blood beginning to flow freely from wounds across his arms and chest. He continues his warchant undiminished as he moves with Kung to attack Bonefist from as many angles as possible, the teamwork between Marnir and his mate smooth and effective.

Marnir is surprised to find his hands slip from Bonefist, as though the bastard were greased. He slips but quickly regains his balance, long years as a seafarer giving him an excellent ability to stay on his feet. "Slippery bastard!" Marnir growls, moving slightly to let Kung past and taking a couple of slashes from Bonefist's sword for his troubles. He squares up, continuing his warchant, and hacks at Bonefist with his axe.

"Oh s##~!" Marnir exclaims as Kung smashes through the door to reveal Bonefist's plan. Marnir launches himself at Bonefist in a headlong tackle, trying to get him away from the powder before he can blow them all to the Boneyard. "Kung, some help please!" he calls as he starts to wrestle with the traitor, his warchant breathy and desperate.

Inspired rage starts without an action, Free Action to 5ft step, Standard Action to try to grapple Bonefist. I assume he's armed with something that he's been opening the barrels with, but hopefully I can pile on him before he gets an AoO.

"Don't say I didn't warn you," Marnir shouts through the door as he hefts his axe. "Kung, let's get through that door," he says before bringing his adamantine axe down into the timbers of the door.

The cannons are fine, but I hope Kung and I can hack the door down with our adamantine weapons.

Marnir motions for Kung to move with him across the lower deck as he heads towards the sounds of cracking and crashing coming from behind what he assumes is some sort of strongroom or locker.

"If you come out and don't make me kill you, I'll let you live," Marnir calls out, hoping that Bonefist can hear his voice over all the noise. He looks round at the others to check that they're ready, expecting some sort of treachery from Bonefist rather than a simple surrender.

"Will that hold him for long Cally?" Marnir asks as Cally's spell stops the mystery person in their tracks. "We need to get after Bonefist before he scampers away."

Assuming Cally's spell will last a good while...

Marnir turns back towards Bonefist's ship and with his axe raised descend below to look for the traitorous bastard.

The hate-filled inheritors of an ancient curse, lamias appear as lean and attractive women from the waist up, while below they possess the bodies of powerful lions. Even their humanoid features bear distinctly feline traits, their eyes slitted and feral and their teeth like predatory fangs. The lamias presented here are but the most common and least powerful members of this cursed race, with others bearing serpentine, avian, and even more perverse forms.

The lamia's I'm used to seeing have been lionwomen, but it turns out the more powerful ones are snakewomen. It's very confusing.

Marnir is looking towards the stairs that lead below to where Bonefist presumably lurks when he sees movement in the doorway leading into the mansion at the edge of the water. "Hey, get away from that ice block!" he shouts, pointing at the lurking form. "We can't let the lionwoman get get free," he says to the others before changing direction to head towards the doorway.

Marnir follows Kung, directing his legendary growl and angry eyes at Bonefist's minions to ensure they stay away. "Run him down before he gets away!" he calls to the others, keen to chase down Bonefist and end him once and for all.

That ice tomb has saved us a lot of hassle. Great work Cally!

Marnir reels from the smack of Bonefist's bullet and feels a creeping chill spread across his whole body from the ensorcelled shot. Ducking a swing from one of Bonefist's minions he brings his axe in a savage upward swing towards the pirate's midsection, trying to fell him and move to take down the spellcasting lion woman sooner rather than later.

I put haste in my ongoing spells but looking back I suspect it would have run out by now. I'll recast it for everyone to benefit.

As the sharkmen come through Cally's spell, looking sick and unhappy, Marnir takes a moment to protect everyone with his magic before moving along the jetty to stand beside Kung. He raises his axe and his voice as the fight begins, calling out "Drakes, attack!" as he stands alongside Kung.

Inspired rage starts without an action, Standard Action to cast haste, Move Action to move 15ft, Swift Action to use Battle Cry (to give everyone a +1 morale bonus to hit, a +4 morale bonus on saves vs fear, and the ability to end the effect to reroll a save against a fear effect).

As Cally sends off her spell to deal with the oncoming enemies Marnir step towards the doors to the brig and chops off the locks with his axe (which is adamantine, so I figure it should go through whatever is holding them closed fairly easily).

"Anyone inside looking for revenge on Bonefist, now's your chance!" he calls inside the dark and stinking buildings, hoping that anyone Bonefist is keeping down here might relish the opportunity to fight back against him.

"Good work Kung," Marnir says, slapping his friend on the back as he sees the destruction wrought by the cannon fire. "Let's see if we can find any friendly faces in the brig," he suggests, heading back down the stairs towards the nearby brig, hoping to be able to find some help from those imprisoned by Bonefist. Marnir grabs the dropped weapons of Bonefist's minions as he rushes down the tower, realising that anyone released from the brig will need arming.

I figure we might be able to find some assistance from whoever's in the brig, and it provides a nice bottleneck in case anyone tries to rush us.

Marnir is pleased to see Kung take the initiative as he starts moving the cannon round to fire on the Filthy Lucre. He nods his assent at Kung's raised eyebrows and follows the instructions given to him to help aim and load the cannon.

I assume it takes us all working together to get the cannon firing at an acceptable rate, so I'm going to help Kung with his explosions.

Where are you finding that range increment GM, AonPRD says 100ft. Either way the ship is very much in range.

Marnir wipes blood off his axe on the clothes of the dead pirate at his feet. "Anyone know how to use this?" he asks, pointing at the cannon. He looks over the rampart and points at Bonefist's ship. "I bet we could do some damage to the Lucre, and we could slow down his getaway."

While he's there, Marnir looks around to see if there's been any response to their attack and the firing of the cannon.

The blast of the cannon from the floor above spurs Marnir into action and he charges up the stairs, fearful of finding Kung smeared across the roof. He sprints up the stairs into the smoke from the cannon discharge and is relieved to see Kung still standing, if slightly blackened. He charges at the nearest goon, axe hacking down as he roars his warchant in defiance.

It's a pretty good spell, especially with a good Intimidate bonus. The Ref save is pretty low at this level but occasionally it'll get someone.

Marnir pushes past the two shrieking and quavering figures, kicking their crossbows down the stairs just in case they changed their minds about surrendering. "Hang on Kung, this'll help you take them down upstairs" he says, quickly marking out a series of gestures across the half-orc's body and eyes before the big man suddenly vanishes from sight.

Hopefully they're not pointing a cannon at us, but if they are I've cast vanish on Kung, which might create an opportunity for them to become distracted enough to not blow us apart as we go up the stairs.

Marnir follows Kung up the stairs. "Let's get to them before they're ready for us," he says to the first mate, axe in hand as he begins his warchant which echoes loudly around the circular tower. "Hang on a second," he calls to Kung quickly waving his free hand over Kung's chest while muttering a short arcane phrase. Kung's form suddenly becomes more indistinct, hopefully protecting the big man from any gunshots that might come his way.

We're not aiming for the ship as yet, the plan is to land on the isthmus to draw people in then hop to the ship once we get an opportunity, hoping that we can catch some of the defenders unawares. I've marked my target location with a lightning bolt on the map.

"Right, I've got a better plan," Marnir says as he looks out of the filthy windows into the cave beyond. (which I assume is lit in some way?) "We'll teleport over there, draw some defenders in, then hop onto Bonefist's ship once we've whittled down his underlings. That should give us the best chance to cut down his people and keep him from overwhelming us."

He looks back at the others and when they don't object to the plan Marnir gathers his magic, muttering a few Ulfen words under his breath before reaching out to grasp the others. "Hold onto your guts," he warns before finishing the spell that suddenly rips the group through space and lands them on the sand across the water.

Low level summons might not be combat-effective, but as Kung says they're a flanker, or a distraction, or a hit-point speed bump. They're not nothing, and if they can tie up some guards for a round or two then it's worth a shot.

Regards the approach plan, are we happy with a dimension door into the area between O and N on that little isthmus? It gets us close to the ship, bypasses the mansion, and reduces the amount of force that can be brought against us at once.

dimension door only leaves the caster unable to act by my reading. Depends on how you interpret it but in the games I've run previously I've allowed passengers to act as the spell says "you can't take any other actions until your next turn" where you refers to the caster.

Depending on the GM's interpretation it might provide an easier route in than flying.
