Markus also sleeps well. Despite the sound sleep he received, he was not accustomed to waking up so early. He is a bit slower than most at this hour and in a bit of a sour mood for the rest of the day, though he is very good at hiding it. He manages to keep himself from falling asleep during the tedious praying.

Markus accepts a drink and some potatoes, thinking to himself, that's all it takes to get into such a powerful evil group? He smiles and celebrates with the others. Lifting his drink, he makes a toast, "to Razmir, the true god whom lives among us."

Markus quickly stands up and is the first to answer the call. "I will," he shouts enthusiastically. "I will follow Razmir to the ends of the earth!"

Markus, now in the appearance of a dark-purple skinned drow, sits down at the bar and introduces himself to the keep. "Hey, the name is Jovil. My friends and I heard that there was going to be a meeting of sorts here tonight and we're hoping to be a part of it. I guess I'm just a little confused as to where everyone else is."

Markus looks over the scroll several times, carving the words into his memory. "Very good find there, brother. I'm not sure how everyone is doing financially, but I am sure we could figure out a way to obtain such resources for a tithe," he says, giving Quinn a wink. "What do you say? I've been eager to see what you're capable of. Should we go find some investors?"

"That sounds much safer. I still think we should all brush up on their views and history in case we get questioned."

"That's what I was afraid of. If we get caught, we won't live to get our pay, but it seems like the best way to find out where that ship went." Markus takes another bite and ponders the situation. He looks over to Cora, "What all do you know about this Razmir and his followers? See if you can find a library to get as much info on them as you can."
He then looks over to Quinn, "If we're going to do this right, we'll need to get our hands on the proper materials. Masks for everyone and robes should do it, the two of us along with Faunra could handle that."
Markus shifts toward Brayken, "You get your rest. We are going to need you at your best once we actually go in. If anything gets out of hand, you're the most capable without a weapon, and we will need you to get us out of there."

"Maybe it would be better to find out where they are going as opposed to trying to follow them and possibly getting lost," Markus suggests.

Markus pays very close attention to Reginar's words. "Guards let them do whatever they want? That's terrifying to think about."

He takes a sip from his glass and clears his throat, "Do you think there's a way we could get inside their temple? Get to know them a little better?"

Markus, looking beastly and unkempt, grabs a small plate of greens and politely nibbles on it, pretending not to know what's going on in the conversation.

Markus looks away as the sailor writes the number down, then turns back once he is finished. He looks deep into the man's eyes, putting on a show, as if he is struggling to guess a number. "Alright, I think I've got it," he breaks the tension. "For... I mean eighty...two?"

"Any number you want, just write it down and don't let me see it." He rubs his head and guesses a number. "73?" he asks, pretending to be upset when he finds out he's wrong. He hands over the gold piece to the man and regains his confidence.

"Alright, I want to try again. This time, a number between 1 and 100, but let's make it 5 gold."

He'll use his Mind Reader ability this time, requiring a DC 16 Will save to avoid him obtaining the information

Markus chats up the sailors for a while before suggesting a game. "I bet I could guess what number anyone at this table is thinking of. I'll bet you 1 gold piece I could do it."

Markus pays the man for the room and meal, making sure to thank him for the drink, returning the wink. He then turns around and scans the room again, looking for anyone that might fit the description Reginar. If they do fit the description, I'll go sit by them and start a conversation. If not, I'll move over by the unknown sailors.

"Not exactly," Markus replies. "Just trying to make conversation. Plus its always nice to meet new people."

Markus takes another drink. "How much do I owe you?" he asks.

"Wine," he replies. Markus is fully focused on the man's story, somewhat jumping at the 'CHOMP' and keeping eye contact. "Wow, you are a very brave man. A woman like myself could never imagine going through something like that, which is why I make sure to travel in a large group. He takes a sip of wine and looks around the room again, and back to the barkeep. "Is everyone here a regular?"

"I'll take a drink" the elven woman says, sitting down at the bar. Markus looks around the room to see what kind of rush there is. He then turns around to look at the barkeep and starts a conversation. "That's a beautiful catch you've got there on the wall. I bet there's a great story behind that."

Markus nods in agreement, "It was definitely a story for the ages. Thank you for sailing us across the great waters," he tips his hat down to the dwarven man.

Markus goes to Ewem and retrieves his dagger back and carefully places it back in his bag. He then looks to the rest of his peers and suggests following the Captain's recommendation.

As they leave for their resting place, Markus activates his hat and his appearance is that of a slender elven woman in poor clothes. He looks upon the new city and smiles at what could possibly come to be for this group of adventurers.

Seeing that they have caught on to the fake flames, Markus will stop concentrating and let the spell die off. He will then tap into the depths of his blood to craft the most convincing lie he can.

Silver Tongue

He then casts message and points at the helmsman, the half orc, and the guy that was trying to put the fire out. "Be gone, vile seamen. Leave us be or the dragon shall return with a fury of pain and suffering. If you wish to live, get out of here immediately."

Markus, hearing Quinn's concern, thinks up a plan. Markus looks to his image, has it fly just above the water, and breathe a huge blast of flames at the boat, setting the side of the boat aflame. not the deck Once the the pirates are able to see past the fire, the dragon is gone.

The image is now the flame, put on the side of the boat so the pirates are less likely to interact with it, but hopefully enough to scare them away. If they try to put it out, I'll dismiss the parts they put out.

Markus will continue to focus on his spell, moving to somewhere that provides cover from ranged attacks. The dragon takes off into flight and flies toward the enemy ship.

"Unfortunately, no. I have to keep concentrated on this one in order to keep it going, but I could very easily have it fly right toward them," he says with a wicked smile on his face.

Markus still not able to see what's going on, trusts that they are there and waves his arms, chanting deep arcane words. Suddenly, a 20 ft tall gold dragon appears and starts breathing fire into the air.

"Ship? How can you see anything through this rain?" Markus asks in disbelief. He moves over to the side of the boat Faunra is pointing toward to see if he can get a better look, but all he sees is a thick layer of rain.

"I'm a sorcerer," Markus exclaims. "I can use my magic to do lots of things." Markus gives an example by casting Mage Hand and picking up a cup of ale and drink from it.

"To some it may seem like paranoia, but I see it as a first defense and insurance. Sure we may be safe on this boat, but it has been somewhat habit at this point in my life. You just never know."

Markus wakes up to the sound of deep shouting from the dwarf. "Calm down, its just me," Markus says switching back to his human form. "I do this at night in case someone attacks. The first one to be attacked would be the one who is easiest to kill, so I make myself appear more difficult to take."

"Hopefully crabs this size won't bother you on a regular basis," Markus retorts to the dwarfs comment.

After dining on the crabs, Markus heads back to the cabin to get some rest. Once safely in his cot, Markus will use his special hat to change his appearance into that of a half-orc, then go to sleep.

Markus looks down at the dagger, then up to Ewem. "Keep it. I'd feel safer with you holding it than myself," he says, holding his arms up to show off his lack of muscle. "If I need it that badly, I can get it back once we reach our destination."

"As for the crabs, we'd only need a pot large enough for the legs."
