INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Sooo game dead, then.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"I was about to ask if you could enspell it."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Grim, but all right," says Marisol. "I'd rather not swim past while it's sleepy only to discover that it's a bit peckish again later when we come out the other side."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Anyone got a fish?" Marisol wisecracks.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol likewise backs up as directed.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

"I'll be right beside you, my dear," says Marisol.

She advances and pivots to peer to the south with her unnatural darkvision.

No worries. I've been in vacation this week and been a bit neglectful of the boards.

YES YOU HAVE

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

AoO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
AoO damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

GM, you said I'm up to end the round, but I just went? Did we roll into a new round already?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Oh, I'm up again?

Marisol pivots slightly on one heel to bring her cutlass to bear against the next lizardfolk guard, between her and Vlad.

Using Spell Combat to cast ray of frost and then spellstrike with it while still getting a full attack to get the extra haste swing.

Concentration: 1d28 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
1. Mithral cutlass attack, haste, spell combat: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 - 2 = 22
2. Mithral cutlass haste bonus attack, haste, spell combat: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 - 2 = 22

1. Mithral cutlass damage, ray of frost spellstrike: 1d8 + 3 + 1d3 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (2) = 10
2. Mithral cutlass damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Concentration: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

This time, Marisol manages to bark out the arcane syllable that covers her blade in icy frost.

1. Mithral cutlass attack, haste: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 = 20
2. Mithral cutlass extra haste attack, haste: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 1 = 28

2. Mithral cutlass confirm crit, haste: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 = 24

1. Mithral cutlass damage, ray of frost: 1d6 + 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (6) + (2) + 3 = 11
2. Mithral cutlass damage, ray of frost: 1d6 + 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (6) + (2) + 3 = 11
2. Mithral cutlass crit damage, ray of frost: 1d6 + 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + (3) + 3 = 9

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Concentration: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Marisol is too busy chopping with haste to put any magic on her blade today.

1. Mithral cutlass attack, haste: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 = 25
2. Mithral cutlass haste bonus attack, haste: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 1 = 18

1. Mithral cutlass damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
2. Mithral cutlass damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Ah crap, had no notifications on the board

Marisol grunts and strikes at the palisade, trying to damage it, because that will in the long run probably be easier than trying to climb over it while getting stabbed.

Cutlass attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

I don't think you can crit objects.

Cutlass damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Oh yay, my initiative post disappeared.

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"This fits with what we heard about them suffering from some kind of ailment," says Marisol. "The different tracks and strides, I mean."

"These lizardfolk might be in no condition to fight at all."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Do you think you might be able to cure a sickness by magic? If it's a mundane malady and not a curse, I mean?" asks Marisol.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol's lips scrunch a bit as she tries to puzzle out what could actually be happening, based solely on the varying words of different unreliable narrators, but she knows better than to interrupt in the middle of the discussion

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Huh. Garborn, I trust that's not another hostile tree like the scythe tree?"

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Agreed!

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"I certainly don't want to leave the lizardfolk under the scaly boot-heel of an even worse tyrant. And our own self-interest compels us to make sure that such a group isn't on our own doorsteps."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"No good deed goes unpunished, I suppose."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"I like swimming on a nice warm day when I can relax later," replies Marisol, "but less so if it means being cold and bedraggled in a swamp!"

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Just so long as I don't have to swim again."

Doing my best. I’ve had so little time for gaming these past few years. I almost tried to rejoin the game, but I had things come up sadly.

I’m glad it didn’t die out entirely. There is definitely good story here b

Yeah it's just been a slow burn!

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol takes the opportunity to clear a space for a campfire. Her mithral cutlass can stand up to a little brush-clearing, and she knows that roasting a carcass of this size probably means a pit fire.

"I have my cooking tools in my saddlebags, but I don't have a shovel," she says. "Garborn, were you thinking pit fire like roasting a whole boar? Or are you going to butcher it into slices or chunks for spit-roasting or stew?"

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Never count on me in a clutch situation.

AoO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol rushes to aid her companion. Without the haste spell she just reaches the fray, trying to chill her sword as she goes.

Due to order of operations, I have to move next to the beast, then try to spellstrike, so here goes...

Concentration check, DC 15: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

She fumbles the spell, of course.

Cutlass attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

And misses.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Are the trees on the map impassable? Difficult terrain? Purely cosmetic? Not sure where I can move.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Ref save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Marisol hears the guttural hacking noise just in time and manages to back out of the way of the acid spittle.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

With blade already in hand, Marisol makes her way around some of the trees in the direction of the rather notable sound.

Move + standard to ready: If the forest drake winds up within striking distance, attack.

Cutlass readied attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Marisol draws her cutlass warily.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

"Something you think we can handle, dear?" says Marisol. "Clawing at trees like that seems rather like bears. If a bear wanders too close to a village, hunters can generally drive it off... I presume that forest drakes are more malicious and dangerous?"

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Yup, we have lots to see still!

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Hooray! Anything else we need to do?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Looks like the rest of the team’s all here, at least!

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

I'm all for trying to keep going.

Vlad actually runs a separate KM game in which I'm a player and I spend a lot of time mulling over the kingdom-building stuff. I suspect some people get kinda lost in the scope and in the transition from "explore a hex each day as you adventure" to "switch back and forth between adventuring for a week and managing politics for a week."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

A shame. Seems that this one is destined to go, too.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

DM still with us?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"I've exhausted my fire magic in those futile attacks on the scythe tree," says Marisol. "I'll fight if we decide to, but my contributions will be minimal."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"I'm all for a walk along the river. Maybe we'll see something that will give us more to think about with regard to Marlbeck's comments about the fae 'seeing red'."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol says, "That's the joke," in a deadpan tone, then she wiggles her eyebrows and runs her tongue across her teeth with a grin.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol can't help but chuckle at Nico's comment. "Sadly too true," she says. "But it seems we've smoothed over the relations between lumberjacks and faerie-ladies, by giving them wood, so I think it's time to move on."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Vlad has the right of it!

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol doesn't need any extra urging; she's up and onto her horse again momentarily.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol gives a wry grin and says, "I think he already said he'd like to sing and dance."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

I have to go to the doctor today and there's a chance I'll wind up in surgery. If so, I may be out for a few days (assuming I survive, of course, there's always the tiny chance of something going wrong).

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Not us, but some overzealous loggers," says Marisol. "We are simply hoping to set things aright, to return the trees that were taken."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Marisol doesn't really care, feel free to say something funny.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

3 rounds of combat, I know b/c I made three attack rolls that all missed. :)

"Obviously this... thing has had its share of victims already," says Marisol. "I don't feel particularly bad about destroying it. Garborn, how do these sorts of trees come about? Evil spirits? Unseelie faerie magic? Tree lost a bet at card game night?"
