Liberty's Edge

Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian 6

Looking more than lightly confused Marious asks, "The more profitable adventures are those no one knows about?"

He scratches his head a moment then laughs, "But are they the most fun?"

"Then let us drink to are new partnership before we set out," Marious says looking for the barmaid once more.

After getting his third mug he holds it high and says, "To fame! To fortune! To adventure!"

"Hmmm... wish I could offer you some type of reward but," Marious says holding is hands up and apart as if to say - I got nothing, sorry.

His face gets strangely controted as if he is sucking on a bad lemon and he burst out. "Aww.. but I can't leave this debt unpaid."

Looking lost in deep thought for a minute his eyes brighten as an idea hits him. "If you will have me, I will stick around and find a way to return the favor. And if not maybe we will find a boat load of money and after taking equal shares I can pay you for the service you rendered unto me."

"What say you?"

"I haven't gotten to pick and choose what falls into my lap. Thanks love," Marious says as the barmaid drops off his new drink, giving her a big smile. "Sure wish that was the way it worked though."

*gulp* *gulp*

"Fought an evil druid once. Crazy bugger was trying to turn a whole village into living undead? How is that possible? Your either living or your the living dead, right? Some odd extract he was putting into their water supply. Corton said it would give him control of the folk, but I wasn't to much for the why. I just chased him out of his hole and made sure he thought twice about coming back."

"Sure do wish he wouldn't have gotten away," he adds then shrugs. "Ah well he'll get more of the same should he return."

"And then there was the time I walked into an old cave looking to get out of the rain, and..." he notices he is doing a lot of the talking.

"Sorry, what do you do besides save wronged men from the mob?" he asks taking another drink.

Taking a seat thankfully the human warrior props a boot on the table and leans back in his chair to help throw back his pint.

When the drink is have gone he sits the chair back on all fours and puts his feet on the floor. "That was good!" he exclaims wiping his face with the back of his hand. My name is Marious. I have forgone my family name and taken up the life of an adventure. I guess I should add the customary suffix, don't you?"

"Marious the Great."

"Marious the Strong."

"Marious the Handsomest Man in All the World. Not quite sure yet so still deciding."

Finishing off his drink and motioning a barmaid for another he turns back to the elf. "What about you? Only one name as well?"

"Yes not getting lynched sounds like a phenomenal idea to me." Marious states to the elf. "But where can we go?" he asks looking about.

Quick on his feet Marious has managed to stay one step ahead of the mob.

"You must believe me! I was invited into her room!" he shouts back as he runs by the alley.

Looking his best in his gleaming breastplate Marious walks along with the others into the archbishop's chambers.

"Aha, Izelda." Marious says looking far way for a moment. "I would have given anything to spend but one moment in your arms."

Then an arrow flies by him and he wakes from his reprieve.

"I wish I could battle the sea and tame her choppy waves." Marious bellows as he rocks back and forth with the deck.

Liberty's Edge

I am ready also.

Liberty's Edge

Not sure if my character is done am posting now to check.

EDIT: Not sure if I missed starting wealth rules and if we are using traits. Other than that - and a copy/paste of his background Marious is ready.

Liberty's Edge

Goggle has it as Inigo. That's the only way I knew how to spell it.

Liberty's Edge

I would want Mandy Patikin as his Inigo Montoya persona to play Marious.

I might add a touch of the character to him just for giggles.

Liberty's Edge

LOL good to know there will be some good RP here then. :)

Liberty's Edge

Group looks good to me as well. Just posting to let you know I am still about.

Liberty's Edge

Hard to keep up. I can understand that do to the Carrion Crown game I started this week. Blew by me so fast I need to start to different groups.

Here is the info you asked for...

.

Race - Human
Ethnicity - Taldan
Class - Barbarian
Archetype - NONE, although I did look at drunken brute for a long minute I think Marious will just go ahead and be a slight drunkard without the benefits.

BIO: Marious was born to wealth and privilege and lost it all on the day he was suppose to inherit it all. On Marious's 18th birthday instead of a grand party and his birthright inheritance the brash young noble got into a drunken altercation with his father and ran off to "prove the old bastard wrong".

Marious became a sword for higher and later a soldier. He went from assignment to assignment and warband to warband always with a discharged for disorderly conduct, drunken brawling, or insubordination. It wasn't till he came to a small village with a serious problem that he found his true calling.

The village was plagued by a dark druid that was poisoning the village well. Marious along with a few other new friends discovered the druid and his plot and stopped him in short order (though he did escape). After the treasure they found in the cave being used by the druid did Marious understand he was meant more for a life of freedom and adventure and not one of marching and order taking.

Liberty's Edge

Of course Haste would work well for Marious.

I have a little equipment done and anything that gives a deflection or dodge bonus to AC would be useful.

Can't do much of anything else till starting wealth, trait use, and how to determine HP is decided. Am off to work so hope to finish tonight.

Liberty's Edge

Stating out one hot-headed young noble for this.

Marious won't be doing the typical damage as a barbarian but I have him as the kind of warrior that stays in the fight a long time with a high AC/HP. He likes to "wear down" his opponents.
