Male Human Paladin (Divine Defender)/1

Tobia, It is clear to me that you have never worked in a group or as a team before. There is no pecking order and you will cease to use violence to intimidate those now in your circle or you will find yourself with no circle at all. You were told your dwarf has your gold, yet you persist to attack one who has been appointed to your party and therefore falls under your duty to protect not maim. Gax you need to stop taunting him, He may be in a position in the near future to save your life. Don't give cause to doubt the decision to do so. With that Marcus stands up and follows Kharn but stops at the door before exiting the room and says When you to have come to your senses and it seems there is much ado in the main room we may need your skills Marcus than exits the room following Kharn and Bullpup.

Diplomacy Gax 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Diplomacy Tobia 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Marcus returns to the room as he sees everyone coming back. It seems our companionship will have no problem finding trouble. Marcus says as he walks back into the room. Can we get down to brass tax? We need a lead, something we can follow so we can begin our quest. Master Heneska, where should we begin?

Male Human Paladin (Divine Defender)/1

Marcus watches the rabble scramble out of the room. Perhaps there is foul work afoot. These adventurers rush quickly to trouble it seems. I will lend my shield if something is wrong. Marcus stands up and quickly grabs his share of the golf from the table and follows the group from the room, stopping at the door and saying Fear not master elf we will speak again shortly Then leaving the room to follow his new companions.

Marcus stands and bows slightly before saying I am Marcus LightShield, Paladin and Defender of the order of Torag He then takes a seat and allows the rest of the group to introduce themselves.

Marcus straightens himself as he listens to both Henneska's story and his proposal. Your Story is one of woe, you and your people require protection from those that would take advantage of the people they perceive as weaker than themselves. It is my sworn oath to provide such protection, I agree to your terms and you have my shield. Marcus is completely confused as to what this crazy man who called him a teapot could offer the group. His insanity would seem to be a hinder to the group, all he did when the men with swords attacked the tiefling was call Marcus a teapot and get struck with a sword.

Male Human Paladin (Divine Defender)/1

Marcus replies with a stern answer. We have nothing to gain by informing others of your problem. You have my discretion He is however confused at the request of the half-elf. He doesn't understand how the man could trust the surrounding company enough to divulge his information and yet question their character in the matter of secrecy.

Marcus turns to Henneska and replies I will listen, but your gold is not a motivator to me. I will accept reward where one is due but I will not seek the reward for rewards sake. Tell me your troubles and I will determine if they are worthy of my attention as dictated by my God. Marcus puts his shield on his pack and finds a seat to listen to the half elf who was presumably some sort of village leader.

I believe the dice have turned on us.... Gax with his natural 1 and me with my 4.... Perhaps if we could train them?

Male Human Paladin (Divine Defender)/1

Marcus stands up and steps quickly between the men and Gax. If the presence of this Tiefling offends you so, why do you not just leave? A bloody battle doesn't seem like a fitting solution to such a simple problem does it? Know that if you follow through with your current path, I will do everything I can to defend the Tiefling as sworn by my order and god Torag. Diplomacy 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 - Marcus prepares himself to draw his sword and shield should these men decide to push the issue further.

Actions:
Stand as my swift action, stepping between gax and the attackers as my move.

If my diplomacy check fails I will use my standard to don my shield.

Marcus steps through the doorway to the Tavern heavy footed. His plate armor clanging as he walks methodically to an open table. He smiles at the locals despite the fact that none smile back at him. Marcus' good and natural Charisma radiate off him like ripples from a rock dropped in a pond. He sits down at an open table and looks around the room trying to take an account it's occupants and their doings. perception 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
