![]() Speaking of which, I realised I might not be finishing on time, since tomorrow is a hard day at job. So I decided to present what I've got, and see if I can find some spare time to finish it before or after the selection. So Jereru presents Marcos Mundstock, the scholar bard, a work in progress (though much advanced). A quick link to the real Marcos Mundstock. It's in spanish, but you get the thing I guess. ![]()
![]() Alright, the GM asked me in private, but since all of you deserve an explanation, I'm posting the reply here: You are completely right; I've been more absent than what should be considered polite. When I chose to leave behind some games, I kept this one because I like mostly everything about it. Sadly, my schedule has become even harder with the Summer time. So maybe it's time to fold up here and make a come back after Summer business (I live in a very touristic area). It's been a blast to go through this journey with you guys, thank you very much. ![]()
![]() Marcos smiles. "No, Ku'Toa. Where I live, I was in charge of keeping the records in books. We do this so we know what happened to our ancestors." He shrugs, smiling once again. "Until I appeared here, the most dangerous activity I was involved into was eating my aunt's cakes. They're known for having lots of sugar." In response to Ku'Toa's face, he adds "Sugar is bad." The librarian doesn't like tunnels, but it seems the way to go. "Let's see what awaits us inside there, friend, shall we?" ![]()
![]() Next round actions, just in case Kn Local: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 Kn Planes: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14 "Beware the bigun, companions, for he's able to throw away death with precision. Use a mirror, however, to weaken it, if you have one to spare!" While he moves (to J6), Marcos keeps his speech and tries to capitalize from the advice himself. Sadly, he lacks the proper items, si he decides to try a shot instead. Crossbow Vs Thawn, IC: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 = 23

![]() Not yet, but that's the idea, yes. Also dubbing (we translate movies to Spanish here, so there are "voice actors" who do that), audiobooks, etc. But not singing, you do not want me to sing, trust me :P But I'm new to that. It's something I like, and it seems I have a nice voice (never knew that, but people keep saying that to me), so with the job scarcity here due to C-19 I had to search for some alternatives. ![]()
![]() Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 "...and, if I were you, I would care for my belongings, for these insectoids will try to grab'em and disappear, leaving you with empty hands..." Inspire Courage. While advicing his friends,m Marcos tries a lucky shot at one of the insect things. Crossbow, IC, vs melee: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 - 4 = 14
![]()
![]() Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 Marcos lifts his hand to Tenney, asking him to wait. He uses his deep voice to tell them some trivia about the creatures they are confronting. "Be careful they don't gang up on you - their teeth are quite dangerous..." Inspire Courage - +2 to attack, damage and saves vs fear ![]()
![]() Marcos wants to wait until Lash comes out of the water, but he notices Tenney wanting a private talk and he follows. In private: He listens to the thug's thoughts spoken aloud without a gesture, letting the man finish. "Why do you think he'll betray us? Actually, you showed a behaviour not too far away from what I'd consider treacherous. Should I distrust you?" He lowers his head in a more friendly speech. "Listen, from what we've seen, he wants to get out of here. Like you and me. And he eats dead people. But that doesn't mean he's gonna kill us to eat us. If he's smart enough, he'll realise he won't go anywhere with a full belly but no allies." After that, he puts a hand on Tenney's shoulder. "What about you? Should we be best friends just because you don't eat dead people?"
![]()
![]() "Yes, we should be wary. The old fart knows what we can do, and he might have written this to lure us into the tunnels." Marcos knows that's close to paranoia, but that's how it works, he guesses. Coming to have a look at the pool... Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 ...he comments about the narrow passage on the east wall. ![]()
![]() Once they've reached that far, Marcos asumes they can end the combat without his assistance. He stops the prayer, and throws one last projectile at the lizardfolk, who is nonetheles completely overwhelmed numerically speaking. Crossbow, Bless, vs engaged: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 - 4 = 3
![]()
![]() Small clarifications: 1- Inspire Courage gives a competence bonus to hit and damage and a morale bonus to saves vs fear. 2- Thanks to Master Performer, the bonus is a +2 instead of a +1. ![]()
![]() Once everything is smoother again, Marcos gos to Lash and comments. "So, now that we're fresh, I managed to recall the formula for an old chant... that would allow me to understand whatever someone says, in any language. Sadly, it only affects me." He pauses a bit and adds. "If there was a way to take me near the lizardfolk without alerting them... But these old bones are used to libraries and chairs, not stealth..." ![]()
![]() Level up: +1 BAB, +1 Fort Save, +1 to all saves due to ABP New Features: Inspire Competence HP 5+2(con)+1(fcb) unless GM rolls better than 5 Skills (10 ranks):
Feats: Master Performer (Inspire Courage now grants +2 and Inspire Competence grants +3 :)) Spells:

![]() Well, time to say goodbye to the Kuru. Sadness and helplessness, for the Kuru were straight allies, took things nicely even when accused of treachery and cannibalism, and had the guts to tell the truth. Stood until the end when the ooze came from us and didn't even complain when all of us fled and left them on their own. They were true to their beliefs for better or for worse. Admirable people indeed. But, also, it's time to level up. And with this, time to ask about options. I have a feat which I like, Master Performer (actually two, this one and the Greater version). Question is, it has a faction requirement, are you still keeping it? I know some people handwave it, some others don't, and since this is a "plotless dungeon crawl", I thought I'd ask. ![]()
![]() So what I get from this is the Kuru can continue their quest even if not using the holes, right? Marcos would never do as the Kuru do, but he respects their stickiness to their ideas. Most everyone would just forget what they said two minutes ago if bribed with power or confronted with fear. Those warriors stood in the face of death until they prevailed, and still they stand righteous. "Ko'Tua, I don't know what will happen next, but I hope we'll see each other again. I would gladly fight beside you." He then walks to one of the holes and puts his hand on it.
