INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Yes, though..." Manauia stops that thought mid-sentence, then simply nods and says, "Yes. Bad enough having to contend with the beasts of the jungle, we will no doubt find continued interference as we come closer to our goal."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia continues launching stones.

Sling attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

Sling damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia spins his sling over his head and launches a stone at the snake.

Sling attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 {+1 from bless}

Hits AC 4, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Still here.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia stumbles back, letting Otzali take the lead. "Feathered father, aid us in this travail!" he shouts out in desperation.

Casting a bless spell to give party members the usual +1 bonus on attack rolls!

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

That's the mission, as far as I know, so yeah!

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Agreed, but I'm at a loss for how to get in, aside from picking up the digging tools and trying to finish what the orcs started.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia shakes his head and says, "He says they were just ordered to come here by the ogre. My suspicion is that the ogre was the one who had orders and knew what they were looking for."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia speaks up in Nexali and says,

Nexali:
"What were you doing here? Who sent you? What were you looking for? Why were you trying to get into the temple by breaking through the rock?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"He asks why we are doing this to him. He may not be fully cognizant of what has befallen him."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia cautiously remains near Otzali, hoping that the former will see something, and staying with someone else for safety.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"I agree, Otzali. These... beings have not shown themselves to be especially clever. Perhaps there is another way, on a different part of the pyramid." With that, Manauia begins making a deliberate and careful search -- though with a structure of this size, that could take some time.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Though cautious and a little suspicious, Manauia has nowhere else to go but to follow the rest of the group.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"The feathered cloak -- we discussed this before? It was lost somewhere, perhaps in this very temple, not long ago."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"This is the sigil of Hoxitil. He currently rules over Nexal. He is a powerful priest dedicated to Zaltec, who has been spreading the cult of the Viperhand. He must also be searching for the Cloak."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia takes a moment to mutter a healing prayer over Al Suresh's injured arm.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 ⇒ 1

"Any other tracks? From what I have seen of the Viperhand monsters they often come in groups and tribes, and there may be more nearby."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

A bit worried now, Manauia backs up and lets fly another sling stone at the ogre.

Sling attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 (+1 is from bless spell)

Sling damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia switches to his sling, picks up a rock, spins it and lets it go in an attack on the ogre.

Sling attack: 1d20 ⇒ 12

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia raises his hands to the heavens and calls for the blessing of Quetzal to lift the team's spirits through this difficult conflict.

That's the aforementioned bless spell.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

I'll throw down a bless spell while Orren is casting sleep, just to help a bit more.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"You are a... sorcerer?" Mana says with some surprise. "If that is the way of your magic, then let it be so."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Possible," says Mana, with a wary look. "Still dangerous."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"No," says Manauia in a hushed voice. "I have been trying to avoid many strange monsters of late, so this could be anything or anyone." He takes up a position with the group and watches nervously as Otzali ascends the steps of the pyramid.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Apparently a Zakharan? Uh, if the player returns?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Manauia looks surprised at this revelation for a moment, then replies, "The Cloak! Lost in the destruction of Nexal... Yes, I can understand how that would be a laudable goal." He regards the foreigners briefly, as if weighing the price of their involvement, then continues, "It was a union of people of the True World and people beyond the sea that brought forth the Cloak during the war, so perhaps this unlikely group s a good omen." He raises his club and crosses it in front of his shield, the bows and says, "I shall join with you in this good cause."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"I am Manauia, a servant of Qotal from the Nexal people. Since the coming of the beasts of the Viperhand, Nexal has been safe no more, and I seek to untangle the dreams of the feathered serpent god and discern how our people may yet live. This strange one," he says with a gesture to his companion, "is also a traveler from across the sea. Together we have sought shelter but found only challenges."

Manauia indicates Ik'skull's satchel and says, "You are a weaver of the feather arts? Perhaps our meeting was foreordained, as I give supplication to the rainbow serpent Qotal."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"We are trying to avoid the monsters that have come recently," says the Nexali man slowly. "Little hope of safety."

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

The Nexali man looks weathered and a bit battered. He wears fiber armor and a wooden shield is gripped in one hand, though he holds it limply by his side. In his other hand he holds a club, and his hand twitches as he spots strangers, but he doesn't move to raise the club. He seems both wary and weary.

It's clear that the Nexali was unprepared for travel, as a cord looped over his body holds a sleeping mat and he has little else in the way of possessions.

"Strangers," says the lean man in the local tongue, "I hope that no bloodshed will pass between us. What brings you here, to this desolate place?"
